Learn the basics of birding and try your new skills on a short walk in the preserve. Walking shoes and binoculars are recommended.

Play an interactive game to learn how to prepare a fishing pole and cast a fishing line. Equipment will be available for practice. Texas Park & Wildlife Department’s fishing regulations apply.

Tuesdays, Oct. 15, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17, 8 a.m. Ages 55+.

Join Houston Audubon Society volunteers for a monthly bird count. Binoculars and walking shoes recommended.

VOLUNTEER DAY

Sundays, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, and Dec. 15, 9 a.m. Ages 10+.

Join staff for a monthly volunteer activity. Long pants and closed-toe shoes recommended.

COME N' GO CANOEING & FISHING

FIRST AND THIRD WEDNESDAYS

One adult per child (10 and under) required to canoe.

OCT. 2 & 16 3 P.M. – 6 P.M.

NOV. 6 & 20 3 P.M. – 5 P.M.

DEC. 4 3 P.M. – 5 P.M.

Join staff at the canoe launch for a day of canoeing and fishing. Equipment provided. Wear weather appropriate clothing, including closed-toed shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. Canoes have a four-person maximum capacity.
