Thursday, 6 p.m. at Spring Woods Baptist Church, 10131 Emnora Ln., Houston.

Join Commissioner R. Jack Cagle for a lively salute to the men and women who served our country. Guests will enjoy moving stories from special guest speakers and patriotic music performed by the Houston Brass Ensemble. Light refreshments will be served. Veterans who would like to be included in the Salute to Veterans slideshow are welcome to email a service photo, name, and dates of service to encore@hcp4.net.

COMMISSIONER R. JACK CAGLE’S TRIBUTE TO VETERANS DINNER AND CONCERT

Wednesday, 6 p.m. at Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton Pkwy., Humble. Reservations required.

Join Commissioner R. Jack Cagle for a tribute to veterans. Following a presentation of flags by the Atascocita High School Junior ROTC and a welcome from Commissioner Cagle, a catered dinner of turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings will be served. The Texas A&M University Singing Cadets, now in their 116th touring season, will present a patriotic concert. Transportation is provided by Precinct 4 Encore! for individuals 50 and above. Celebrate the season and help provide a special holiday for local children. Donations of new stuffed bears will be accepted and distributed to children who receive little or nothing for Christmas. Ben’s Chuck Wagon is catering roast beef, new potatoes, glazed carrots, rolls, dessert, and iced tea. Transportation provided from Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Steubner Airline St., departing at 10:15 a.m.
