Carlota Ciganda strengthens her path towards Solheim Cup 2023

Carlota Ciganda achieved a significant victory by winning the Aramco Team Series Florida, belonging to the Ladies European Tour. A victory that becomes the seventh of the Navarre player on this circuit and which bolsters her options of qualifying directly for the European team of the Solheim Cup 2023.

In fact, Carlota Ciganda has taken a great leap in the two rankings that will be used to form the European team that will take on the United States at Finca Cortesín from 18 to 24 September.

Thus, in the global ranking she is in sixth place, precisely the last place that provides entry into the team captained by Suzann Pettersen. Ahead of the Navarre golfer are the English player Georgia

Hall, the French player Celine Boutier, Leona Maguire from Ireland, Charley Hull also from England and the Swedish player Madelene Sagstrom.

With regard to the LET ranking, which remains dominated by the Swedish players Linn Grant and Maja Stark, Carlota Ciganda has snatched third place from Ana Peláez, who is now fourth, but in practice, the player from Malaga would be third as the Navarre player qualifies through the world ranking.

No changes in the American rankings

The LPGA did not hold any tournaments last weekend, therefore, the rankings to form the United States team for the Solheim Cup have barely changed except for slight changes in the scores of Allisen Corpuz and Jessica Korda, first and second in the world ranking.

With regard to the LPGA ranking, it continues to be led by Nelly Korda, ahead of Lilia Vu, Danielle Kang, Lexi Thompson, Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho and Andrea Lee.
