Fairplay, a five-star start to X Circuito Golf Sotogrande

An initial event in great style, a top quality first event for this tenth edition of Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. Fairplay Golf & Spa, the venue of one of the regular events of the calendar over the last three years, hosted the first event in great style of the X Circuit. An event with lots of golf, lots of new additions and the best atmosphere.

The players enjoyed a course in spectacular condition, in a privileged location like that enjoyed by the hotel resort of Benalup. With attention and care to detail by the local staff and organisers, the golfers took on a top quality day from the outset, with a firstclass welcome with a fantastic ‘Welcome Pack’ of El Corte Ingles Supermarkets in Sotogrande; as well as all the surprises of the day (in which the weather and especially the eastern wind allowed all of the splendour of the course to be enjoyed). In terms of the sport, the winners on the day were: William Pennington (Men’s longest drive), Celia Nebot (Womens’ longest drive) and the Closest ball went to Antonio Cidoncha. The Womens’ victory went to Frederique Adnot; followed by Marisa Artes and Ana Vega. In the men’s second category, victory went to Francisco del Río, followed by Brent Clarke and Joseph Trubshaw; while in the men’s first category, the victory went to Dayron Ruiz, followed by Alfonso Morales and Brian McWhinnie.
