JIM ALBERTO
Coming from the mainland with little knowledge of living on a secluded sea island, Jim Alberto and his wife, Carol, had to learn quickly when they moved to Daufuskie Island in 1973. Little did the couple know that Jim’s meeting with Pat Conroy in 1973 would play such a key role in their careers. The Alberto’s taught at the Mary Fields Elementary School for nine years. His book Daufuskie Daze, o ers amusing experiences on the island from navigating weekly boat rides to the mainland for groceries to learning to avoid dangerously close encounters with local wildlife, such as snakes and alligators. After his nine-year stint teaching on Daufuskie Island, Jim finished his teaching career on the mainland, sharing his passion for history with his students and with anyone else who was willing to listen.
BRIDGETTE FRAZIER
Born in Charleston, Bridgette Frazier was raised in Blu ton and graduated from Hilton Head High School in 2001. She received a BA degree in professional english with a minor in secondary education from South Carolina State University and holds a MPA in public administration from American Public University. Bridgette is the youngest serving o cial and was the youngest candidate ever elected to Blu ton Town Council. She is the owner of Chef B’s Eatz Food Truck and Catering and Ma Daisy’s Porch. Recognized as a Gullah Preservationist, her work advocates for protection and policy to cultivate and retain the richness of Gullah Geechee Culture. She is the founder of the Blu ton Cultural Heritage Center, co-founder of BlacQuity, and board chair of the Blu ton MLK Observance Committee.
DAVE FERGUSON
Dave Ferguson is an internationally respected executive coach, speaker, facilitator, and author in the areas of leadership and personal development. In his signature direct, yet highly connective style, Dave helps business owners, executives, and political leaders transform how they communicate, and grow in their leadership roles. Prior to launching his coaching and speaking business, Dave served 20 years in corporate leadership roles in Fortune 500 banking, real estate, and investment companies. In addition, he served in leadership roles in the United States Air Force. As a corporate leader turned corporate coach, Dave’s experience uniquely qualifies him to not only coach and support leaders and their teams, but to understand their distinct challenges. Dave will challenge your team to make intentional choices that leverage their professional development, inspire them to become better leaders, and demonstrate ways they can cultivate and apply their skills.
NIKKI HOLSOPPLE
Nikki Holsopple is the Head of Community Reinvestment and Community Partnership at JPMorgan Chase. She oversees the firm’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) framework, leading strategies, and driving modernization to build and improve opportunities for underserved communities. She received a MBA from the University of South Carolina, and a bachelor of business administration and management from the University of Kansas. Nikki currently serves on the board of directors for the National Association of A ordable Housing Leaders and has held multiple leadership roles within the firm and the broader community. With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Nikki’s extensive background in community reinvestment, governance and oversight, operational risk management, operational transformation initiatives, and complaint management and resolution. She is a graduate of the Hilton Head Island-Blu ton Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.
