In fact, among the survey’s more than 90 statements, the one that showed the highest correlation with engagement was: “I am committed to my organisation’s core values.” By comparison: “There is sufficient incentive to perform well at my organisation” ranked only 19th.

Of the values that earn this much needed engagement, a commitment to local communities is one of the most important. Employees also respond to a visible focus on customers and what Right Management calls a “democratised” workplace, where workers know that their opinions are valued and sought-after. Filling out the top five engaging organisational values are a willingness to empower staff, and a commitment to “fairness” in the workplace.

Expert training So how can HR translate this key information into productivity success on the workplace floor? Expert training is often the first and most important step.
