s we move into fall, the month of October tends to get me thinking about the upcoming holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year Celebration. Making healthy eating choices during this time of year can be challenging, not only for ourselves, but also for our loved ones. All the sugary treats and even what we would consider healthy foods can and do cause food sensitivities. They can mask as sinus congestion, stomach bloating, gas, muscle soreness, joint pain and stiffness — to mention just a few health concerns. Living a healthy lifestyle is not easy, especially if we use food to stabilize emotional stress. The holidays seem to trigger many stressors. There are, however, many ways to overcome stress naturally. Meditation, movement, physical activity, laughing, reading, watching comedies and interacting with friends and family can help us to maintain and create balance and joy in our lives. Being a Libra, balance is very important to me. Please see the astrology article, by Cathryn Evans, which has a section about Libra, this month’s Sun sign. Also, please check out Dr. Andy Drymalski’s wonderful article on teaching his dog Ruby how to meditate. Dr. Eslinger writes about exposing diseased cells to various frequencies as a unique and highly effective method of healing. Dr. Gerber has a wonderful article discussing better ways to diagnose the impact of thyroid dysfunction on a range of health issues. Dr. Clearfield addresses the importance of the Thymus gland for longevity and how thymic peptides can enhance immune function. Dr. Nario defines Carnitine and its benefits as a fat burner. This month, I am writing my publishers letter as I attend the Nevada Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association Conference, (Sept. 14, 2019) here in Reno at the Peppermill. This conference is held every year in September and is open to the public. Topics of conversation ranged from how cancer will be treated in the future, peptides for wellness, genetics in a bottle, IV therapies, mitochondria, and integrative approaches to pain management, to mention only a few. Attending conferences locally and nationwide is important for HB to be kept in touch with the future of medicine, to report on the latest facts and trends in alternative, integrative, functional, emotional, nutritional, and spiritual health information. Our purpose is to be a facilitator of unbiased health information, to give you, the reader, options, to make up your own mind about living a healthy and natural lifestyle.

EPIDEMIC HYPOTHYROIDISM By Michael Gerber, MD, HMD, Practitioner of Homeopathic Medicine

T

he thyroid gland, a butterfly shaped gland in the throat, oversees metabolism in every cell in the body. Dysfunction is responsible for untold misery such as unnecessary hysterectomies from menorrhagia (heavy periods), needless antidepressant drug administration and pain medication. Environmental exposures (consumption of fluoride and chlorine which block iodine necessary for thyroid hormone production) and genetic inhibitory factors are legion at every level of central and tissue thyroid receptors. Hypothyroidism (low thyroid) causes, diagnosis and treatment is an extremely complex science. After a review of 118 peer reviewed, medical articles, The National Academy of Hypothyroidism documents convincing data about the unreliability of TSH, the test that measures the thyroid stimulating hormone in the pituitary, which is the master gland in the head that stimulates the thyroid — is the only measure of thyroid status. What’s Wrong with Thyroid Blood Tests? The (TSH, T4) are misleading and misunderstood thyroid laboratory measures, obscuring many important signs and a plethora of coexisting symptoms such as physiologic stress, cold sensitivity, dry skin, obesity, chronic headaches, heavy periods, infertility, hair loss, digestive disorders, constipation, depression, diabetes, calorie deprivation (dieting), PMS, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and numerous other conditions. In many cases, the very conditions that need to be identified to bring a patient back to health are interfering with the accuracy of the TSH testing process. Those who can’t stand any stimulation need to be started from 1/16th grain or less of porcine, very similar to human, NatureThroid or Armour thyroid. Autoimmune patients, for example, those having Hashimotos, frequently require bioidentical T3 or T4 because the porcine (pork) is too similar to human thyroid and the body may not respond to it. Proper diagnosis and treatment can enhance both physical and emotional health and transform quality of life.

ver 100 years ago a Russian engineer named George Lakhovsky discovered something that was truly astonishing. He found that you could restore health to diseased cells by exposing them to frequencies that would allow them to return to the same “oscillation” rate that they had when they were well.

Lakhovsky built his first Multi-Wave Oscillator in 1931. It was put to use in various Paris hospitals such as Hospital Saint Louis, Val-de-Grace, Calvaire, Hospital Necker, and Dispensaire Franco-Britannique. Since 1931, the MWO has been used in most European Countries and in America for the treatment of many diseases. It has been applied by many health care workers and no contra-indications, nor any harmful effects on patients or medical personnel have ever been reported.

By safely exposing the body to an outside source of these frequency oscillations, each cell would choose which specific frequency they would vibrate with. When each cell would find a vibration it could synchronize with, the strength and vigor of that cell would be reinforced and become stronger.

Written reports from that time reveal that they produced effects equally as good as they did in Europe. Unfortunately, he was hit and killed in a suspicious hit-and-run auto accident that was never solved. His machines started disappearing from the hospitals, and memory of his work faded fast in the US.

Lakhovsky theorized that each cell also has characteristics which normally are associated with electronic circuits. These include resistance, capacitance and inductance. Also, the double helix of the DNA in each cell acts as an antenna to “capture” the proper frequency for that cell.

Some of his contemporaries, such as Nickola Tesla and Royal Rife, became much more widely known. However, a number of Lakhovsky’s machines survived and engineers have developed and used upgraded components.

The cells of disease causing agents within a sick person produce different frequencies than that of normal healthy cells. He found that if he could increase the amplitude (but not the frequency) of the oscillations of healthy cells, this increase would overwhelm and dampen the oscillations produced by disease-causing agents.

L-carnitine is the biologically active form, which transports long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria (the powerhouse of our cells). Burning them up to produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy in our cells. This function is best utilized during intense exercise, thus the fat burning capacities are maximized with workouts. Names such as “L-carnitine”, “L-carnitine L-tartrate”, or “Propionyl-L-carnitine” are all similar and may show up on nutrition labels.

ummertime has just passed, the season when millions of people are most urgently trying to lose weight. Everybody always wants to fit into their swim suits and flaunt their beach bods. Summer heat goes well with that burst of sweaty exercise that revs up our metabolism to burn all those excess calories and fat. Outdoor hikes, cycling and grinding in the gym are activities that keep everyone on their toes. Summer is therefore also a season when “fat burners” are very popular and almost every weight loss supplement in the market has this ingredient. Summer, however, is by no stretch the only time of year when people use fat burners. Before and after the Fall and Winter holidays, they are also in demand and one of the more famous ones is carnitine. In order to understand how to safely use it, let us dig deeper into the true nature of carnitine. Carnitine is an amino acid made from two other amino acids, lysine and methionine. It is naturally formed in our liver and kidneys, and stored in the muscle, heart, and brain. The majority of dietary sources are from meat and animal products: the redder the meat, the more carnitine it has. Plants contain it as well but in smaller amounts. Carnitine is beneficial for you if your health goals include: 1. Increasing brain function (preventing memory loss) 2. Weight loss by decreasing fat 3. Maintaining normal blood sugar levels 4. 2. Acetyl L-carnitine is the type that travels through our brain structures easily, compared to L-carnitine. It contributes to brain energy production and enhances the creation of acetylcholine which is vital for nerve stimulation and conduction. Overall, it is a potent antioxidant that greatly protects our brain neurons. Even though carnitine is available everywhere in the market and perceived to be safe, precautionary measures when taken orally must be observed. Taken orally, carnitine can be dangerous for meat eaters. Steak has the highest carnitine content while other sources may come from poultry, milk, eggs and energy drinks. Passing through the meat eater’s gut bacteria, it is converted it into Trimethylamine (TMA), which is released into the circulation. When TMA passes through the liver, it turns into Trimethylamine N oxide (TMAO). TMAO in our system promotes inflammation as

well as buildup of cholesterol in cells and arteries, a condition leading to higher risks for heart attacks and strokes.

The main problem is not the TMAO, but the gut bacteria that converts carnitine into TMA. The animal products that an individual has eaten for years creates the type of microorganisms that produces TMA in the gut. On the other hand, vegans or vegetarians do not carry this type of bacteria; this is the reason why they do not have the problem of producing TMA, even with the intake of supplemental carnitine. Realistically speaking, humans do not have a required daily allowance for carnitine. We create our own in our kidneys and liver. Supplemental intake is done for in order to burn fat and sculpt muscle. This problem takes us back to the fact that majority of athletes and body builders seek to build muscle by consuming meat products to “bulk up” or “gain protein”. There are two options for the safe supplementation of carnitine intake. Either you become a vegan/vegetarian, or consider bypassing the meat eater’s gut via intravenous or intramuscular therapy. From experience, the option of dietary change is harder for athletes, especially body builders, since meat is still considered the ultimate protein source. Carnitine is not as safe as people might assume. If not used carefully and appropriately, it may lead to the damage of the cardiovascular system. Utilized correctly, it can help in supplementing workouts for the better.

nterior and superior to the heart, in the center of the chest, behind the sternum, lies a soft, triangular organ, the thymus gland, responsible for training and developing T-lymphocytes (T-cells), a significant component of our immune system. T-cells, our defense against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, are produced with an invading antigen, They migrate from the periphery of the thymus gland to the center in order to attack the foreign invader. “Auto”-immunity is when our T cells attack our own body’s cells. The thymus gland produces thymosins, a series of hormones that circulate through the body, identifying and eliminating pathogens. The thymus enlarges during childhood, as this is the time of life when its T-cells are most needed. After puberty, the thymus shrinks typically due to the diminished need for new T-cells. By age 30, thymic activity is practically zero. A healthy thymus is associated with a long, healthy life. Other than age, thymic regression accelerates in the face of obesity, exposure to inflammatory agents, a poor diet and environment, stress, chronic infections, and growth hormone and zinc deficiencies. Laughter A

t the turn of the 20th century (1900), U.S. women were most likely to die from infectious diseases and complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Today, in the first decade of the 21st century, 63% of American women die as a result of the chronic conditions of heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Heart disease leads the pack. Improving women’s health, and increasing awareness and understanding of women’s health issues, is the task of the Office on Women’s Health (OWH), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. However, Women’s healthcare has another therapeutic ally, a proven women’s health enhancer and stress reliever — laughter. Laughter: A Heart-Healthy Activity It’s been said that laughter is the best medicine. A growing body of research supports the theory that laughter has therapeutic value and may be an antidote to heart disease. In 2000, and again in 2005, a team of researchers at the University of Maryland Center for Preventive Cardiology, led by the Center’s director, Dr. Michael Miller, released study results which point to a strong connection between laughter and cardiovascular health. In 2000, Dr. Miller led a research team which conducted a study on the humor response comparison of 300 people. Fifty percent had suffered a heart attack or undergone coronary artery bypass surgery. Fifty percent were healthy, age-matched participants without heart disease. Miller said that the most significant finding was that “people with heart disease responded less humorously to everyday life situations. They generally laughed less, even in positive situations, and they displayed more anger and hostility.” He went on to say that perhaps laughter should be added to the list of recommended behaviors known to reduce the risk of heart disease, like exercising, not smoking, and eating food low in saturated fat. In 2005, Miller and his team of researchers released the results of another study. Using laughter-provoking movies to gauge the effect of emotions on cardiovascular health, the study showed that laughter appears to cause the tissue that forms the inner lining of blood vessels, the endothelium, to dilate or expand in order to increase the blood flow. The results of their study point to a strong connection between laughter and cardiovascular health. “The magnitude of change we saw in the endothelium is similar to the benefit we might see with aerobic activity, but without the aches, pains, and muscle tension associated with exercise,” says Dr. Miller. “We don’t recommend that you laugh and not exercise, but we do recommend that you try to laugh on a regular basis. Thirty minutes of exercise three times a week and 15 minutes of laughter on a daily basis is probably good for the vascular system.” Laughter: A Guaranteed Stress Reliever Stress at work is a growing problem for women in the workplace. In one survey, 60% of employed women cited stress as their number one problem at work. Furthermore, levels of stress-related illness are nearly twice as high for women as for men. Once again, researchers are telling us that laughter has many physiological and emotional benefits that help to combat stress related illness. “When you are laughing, you discharge tension associated with four primary negative emotions — depression, anxiety, fear, and anger,” says Dr. William Fry, a behavioral scientist, psychiatrist, and Emeritus Associate Clinical Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine. And, Dr. Lee Berk, a pioneer researcher studying positive emotions/ behaviors and their biochemical/physiological effects on stress hormones and immune system components in the field of Psychoneuroimmunology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, says “Laughter can relax the muscles, increase alertness and memory, reduce pain, lessen emotional stress, and lower blood pressure.” With all the physiological and psychological health benefits evidenced by solid scientific research, leading-edge organizations in the Triad are embracing therapeutic laughter activities to reduce stress and enhance quality of work life for staff. Employee Wellness at High Point Regional Health System (HPRHS) asked Certified Laughter Leader Marilyn Sprague-Smith to help employees put laughter back in their lives. “Marilyn is showing us how to use laughter to lighten up our mental workload and bring a sense of joy, happiness, and harmony into our daily activities,” says Sue Cumpston, Employee Wellness Coordinator for the health system. The program was brought to HPRHS as a community outreach service of Unity’s laughter club program. You, too, can choose to let laughter be your therapeutic ally for increased health and wellness. HOW TO PREPARE: For topping, combine all ingredients in heavy small saucepan. Bring to boil over high heat.

In large saucepan over medium-high heat melt butter. Add onion and carrots; reduce heat, cover and cook 8 minutes. Add broth. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until vegetables are very tender. Transfer mixture to food processor. Process until fairly smooth. Return carrot mixture to saucepan. Add pumpkin, milk, salt and cayenne pepper. Bring to a simmer. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine sour cream and nutmeg. Mix well. Ladle soup into bowls; place spoonful of nutmeg cream in center.

Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 15 minutes or until fruit is softened and sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, for pancakes, combine all ingredients except butter in food processor. Process until smooth, scraping down sides of work bowl once. Or batter may be mixed by hand in large bowl. Heat non stick skillet or griddle over medium heat until hot. Spread small amount of butter every over surface. Pour 1/4th cup batter for each pancake onto hot skillet. Cook about 2 minutes on each side or until pancakes bubble and bottoms are browned. Keep pancakes warm in 200˚ oven until all pancakes are made. Serve with warm topping.

Combine first six ingredients in large sauce pan and bring to boil. Simmer for 5 minutes remove from heat and cool. Add remaining ingredients and blend lightly. Chill makes 7 cups.

Cut watermelon rind into pieces and remove green skin and pink flesh. Dice the resultant rind into one inch cubes; cover with water and boil until the pieces are tender when pierced with a fork. Drain. Mix salt, alum, vinegar and sugar in large saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over the rind just covering it. Do this for three mornings, then on the fourth morning add cinnamon and oil of cloves to the syrup. Heat to boiling and pour over rind. Do this for a total of five mornings. On the last morning simmer the rind in syrup for ten minutes. Pack the rind in sterile jars. Boil syrup again and pour over the rind in the jars. Seal and process 15 minutes in boiling water bath.

Note: This will keep in the refrigerator indefinitely and flavor improves with standing.

Mix canned pumpkin into cake mix. Add a little water as needed- batter is suppose to be thick. Pour into greased pan & bake for about 30mins. When inserted, knife or toothpick should come out clean.

Spray six 1-cup ramekins with nonstick spray and set in a baking pan. Pour water into pan so that it comes halfway up sides of ramekins.

You can spice this up by adding a tsp vanilla or chocolate chips or nuts- but make sure you add in the extra calories!

Put first five ingredients into a blender and pulse until well mixed. Fill each ramekin 3/4 full and bake for 1 hour or until centers are set (custard will get firmer when it cools down). Serve warm or cold with a tsp of maple syrup and whipped topping (optional). Number of Servings: 6

Oshá

A Boon for Respiratory Health By Arielle Hawney

W

ith the change into this season of Autumn, I enjoy the addition of warm layers, cozying in with blankets and tea, and the abundance of rich earthiness: the colors, the autumn harvest, the aro-mas. One such earthy scent commonly found in my neck-of-the-woods is that of oshá root — a quintessential part of any herbal apothecary. Oshá Root, Ligusticum porteri, is a perennial plant native to the Southwest Rocky Mountain region of the US. Found at elevations between 7,000 and 10,000 feet in areas of New Mexico, Colorado and Utah, It grows in circular colonies, can reach heights of up to seven feet, and does not do well domestically cultivated. Consequently, it is a wild harvested plant, and due to poor harvesting technique, is seriously threatened in many areas. Indigenous and Hispanic/Chicano peoples use the plant for many purposes, including placing it at the head gate of their irrigation systems to reduce the threat of cutworm to their plants. It is used externally as insect and snake repellant, due to its strong, peppery aroma. As a member of the parsley family, the leaves and seeds are a spice and food source as well as digestive aid, and the roots offer many health benefits. This remedio (remedy) is esteemed for its anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties, which

lend themselves well to the support and healing of a variety of respiratory conditions — everything from colds and flus to viral infections, to more chronic lung conditions. Naturally occurring oils are a big part of the magic, and these include camphor, saponins, ferric acid, terpenes and phytosterols. These serve to break up mucus and relieve congestion through expectorant properties. They also increase circulation to the lungs, which makes it a good choice for conditions such as pneumonia, emphysema, asthma and allergies, or adjusting to high altitude. For these reasons, it is considered to be one of the best native US plants for lung and throat concerns. It also has a numbing effect, which can help to sooth sore throats and toothaches. In addition, the leaf offers anti-spasmatic qualities and can be used to aid digestion in both the upper and lower digestive tracts. As an herbal supplement, oshá root is most commonly available as a syrup, tincture, or the whole root. To make your own tea, simply simmer a few pieces of root in water for 15-30 minutes, add honey or lemon and sip away! Seven times, she did, and you answered two of them before you realized that you were being robocalled again. You’re usually pretty savvy about not being fooled but lately, it seems like the more you know, the better scammers get at deception. So read the new book, Scam Me If You Can by Frank W. Abagnale, and protect yourself. You’ve heard the horror stories: people scammed out of their life savings, businesses targeted by ransomware, computers hijacked with malware, and you wonder if you’re doing enough to avoid becoming a victim of technology thieves. The answer to that is “no,” says Abagnale, who was a scammer himself for part of his young life. Boiler room thieves are constantly looking for ways to get around technology blocks, firewalls, and the like. They know exactly how to find your personal information online (it’s very easy). Chances are, you’re already an open book on some database. So what can you do? First of all, recognize that safety is fleeting: scammers know how to suss out information better than you know how to hide it. Also remember that if you’re scammed, you’re not alone: in 2017, more than 16 million Americans were victims of fraud. Never let your guard down when talking to strangers. In public, watch your belongings at all times. Don’t fall “under the ether” by becoming complacent. If you feel pressured, walk away or hang up. Question fees, especially anything you’re asked to pay up-front. Never, ever give

personal information to someone who calls you with a “deal.” Those things may be commonsensical. Abagnale goes on… Lighten your wallet by carrying only what you need today. Invest in the right kind of shredder and shred everything. Know how to hire a trustworthy banker, accountant, IT person, and other service workers. Learn what you can do to protect your small business from hacking and ransomware. And as for passwords, well, Abagnale awaits the day we can truly forget them, since better security methods are available… Until that day arrives, look for “Scam Me If You Can.” But don’t answer an unrecognized phone call or press “2” to be taken off a list. Doing either is a mistake, as you’ll learn inside this informative, important book. Yes, it’s time to stop hiding beneath your desk from scams. Not to scare you – though the information does read like a high-tech horror novel – but author Frank Abagnale wants his readers to know how thieves think and work and how to build a virtual wall around personal and business data. He writes truthfully, in plain talk, and if you’re not thrown into action by his useful advice, the cautionary tales he tells will do it. “Scam Me If You Can” is the kind of book of which to buy multiple copies: one for you, one for your parents, the office, and for anybody who holds your information. saw last week. So we are essentially trying to create a mindfulness bow-wow factor? Me: Exactly. Now mindfulness techniques have their origin in Buddhist philosophy and the teachings of Buddha. Ruby: What is a Buddha? Me: Buddha was a wise man who lived many centuries ago. Ruby: What did he taste like? Me: What do you mean, what did he taste like? Ruby: Did he taste more like a squirrel, rabbit, or a lizard? Me: He didn’t taste like any of those things. You don’t taste the Buddha. Ruby: I would. What did he smell like? Me: I have no idea. Ruby: Can you chase a Buddha? Me: No. The Buddha sits in contemplation. Ruby: So he’s boring. Me: No he’s not boring. He was a very wise man! Ruby: Did any dog ever bite the Buddha? Me: No. I mean, I don’t know. These questions are absurd.

hat follows is a verbatim conversation I had with my dog, Ruby, regarding mindfulness: Me: Ruby, I’ve come up with an exciting business opportunity that could make us millions of dollars. Ruby: I can’t eat money. Me: Well, for you that translates into dog treats. Lots of dog treats! (Ruby’s interest is piqued.) My idea is to teach you how to practice mindfulness. Then, we’ll write a book about our experiences so other dog owners can teach their dogs mindfulness. We’ll eventually go on speaking tours, host workshops and probably be invited onto Good Morning America! Ruby: (raising her paw) Two questions: One, can I have my own agent? And two, what the heck is mindfulness? Me: No, you can’t have your own agent and, as far as number two, I’m glad you asked. Mindfulness is a popular meditation technique used to promote mental and physical well-being. It is ubiquitous nowadays, especially among authors and workshop presenters as its mere mention seems to add a wow factor and an air of legitimacy to any endeavor. Ruby: That would explain the “Mindful Roto-Rooting” truck I

Ruby: They’re not absurd to me! You’re asking me to go along with some philosophy developed by some guy who, from my perspective, probably never existed given the fact that no one ever chased, tasted, smelled or bit him! Me: Listen, we’re getting off track here. Perhaps we should move on to a mindfulness exercise so you can experience what it is like. One of the things mindfulness teaches us is to be more attentive to our physical senses so that we can be more rooted in the present and not so caught up in thoughts about the past or future. Now I’m going to give you a milkbone and as you chew it I want you to give full attention to the smell, taste, sound and texture of the milkbone. In other words, I want you to be totally present with the milkbone. (I give Ruby a milkbone.) Ok. You ate that pretty fast. You must have really liked it. Now tell me about your sensory experiences while eating that treat. Ruby: What treat? Me: What do you mean, ‘what treat?’! The milkbone I just gave you! Ruby: You gave me a milkbone?! Me: Yes, I gave you a milkbone! Ruby: Dang, I don’t remember that! Perhaps you should give me another one.

Me: Alright, we’re going to have to try something else. Ok, I’ve got it. Ruby, Buddhism and mindfulness teach us that our thoughts, feelings and sensations are ephemeral; they come and they go.

Ruby: Like milkbones?

Ruby: Well, just let it pass like a cloud across the sky. HB

Me: Yes, like milkbones or, to use a mindfulness metaphor, like clouds moving across the sky. Mindfulness teaches us to not attach ourselves to our thoughts, feelings and sensations, to not identify with them but to merely let them pass. Now, is there anything that has been stressing you out lately?

Me: That is a depressing thought.

Ruby: Yes, definitely! It’s that damn squirrel that keeps running across the backyard when I’m in my pen. He knows I can’t get him so he dances around and taunts me! Me: OK, that’s very good. Now, rather than getting worked up and hanging onto your thoughts about the squirrel, I want you to let the thoughts pass, like clouds in the sky or leaves floating down the river. Ruby: How about dead squirrels floating down the river? Me: Well, that’s better, but it’s still feeding into your anger. Let your anger at the squirrels also float by; detach from your anger. Now what are you feeling? Ruby: I’m feeling a pain in my stomach. Me: Describe the pain. Ruby: It feels like a lack of squirrels! Me: Ok, maybe we’ll do better if I explain to you more of the philosophy behind mindfulness. Mindfulness is based on the Buddhist concept of anatta which is, basically, a metaphysical denial of the self. It implies that there is no “self,” no “me” and no enduring individual identity for any of us. It maintains this because all of our thoughts, feelings and sensations—both individually and collectively—are impermanent. Therefore, they cannot be the entity that persists throughout a lifetime. Ruby: Question (again raising her paw). If there is no soul or self, no I or me, then the thoughts I experience are impersonal. They are not “mine” in the usual sense of the term? Me: That is correct. Ruby: Well then whose thoughts are they? And why do I have recurring dreams of squirrels, while Max across the street is obsessed with rabbits, and Hugo has delusions that the government is going to raid his home and take his chew toys? And why do my dreams change when I make changes in my life? To me this suggests that we have unique, yet enduring personalities which our thoughts and feelings reflect. What evolves must also endure. Me: You raise some interesting questions, Ruby. Ruby: Yes, and I think we must consider the possibility that
