ATHLETIC LEAGUES

Adult Softball Leagues

The Recreation Department has many different types of softball leagues available. All leagues will play 14 games. In all leagues you must be at least 18 years of age.

2023 Summer League registration will be taken during the month of the March. All leagues begin play during the first week in May.

Bi-City (Wood River & Alton) Leagues

Monday Men’s Open Recreational - (14 games) Fee: $550

Tuesday Men’s Open Competitive - (14 games) Fee: $550

Wednesday Co-Ed Open - (14 games) Fee: $550

2023 Fall Adult Softball Leagues

Registration will run from June to August 8, 2023.

TRI-CITY SOCCER

East Alton, Roxana and Wood River have joined together once again to form a Soccer League. Children ages 5-13 are invited to participate. The registration fee is $45.00 and includes a t-shirt. Games begin in September on Saturday mornings and some weeknights. Registration ends July 31.

TRI-CITY LIL’ KICKERS SOCCER

The Wood River, East Alton & Roxana Recreation Departments offer an Instructional Soccer program. We partner with Elite FT Fitness Training for this program. Children ages 3-5 are invited to participate. This program takes place over four Saturday mornings. There will be 45 minutes of drills. The registration fee is $40.00 and includes a t-shirt. Watch for registration in February & August. There is a Spring Session that starts in April and a Fall Session that starts in September.

TRI-CITY YOUTH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

The Wood River, East Alton and Roxana Recreation Departments offer the TriCity Youth Volleyball Program for 3rd-6th grade boys and girls. We are offering a Spring & Fall league. The fee is $45.00 per participant. Each participant receives a t-shirt.

TRI-CITY INSTRUCTIONAL BASKETBALL CLINIC

This basketball program has been set up for Kindergarten & 1st grade children. It is designed to teach the fundamentals and skills of basketba ll along with special drills to help with coordination. Each participant rece ives a completion certificate. The registration fee is $30.00. Registration begins in September. Clinic will start in November. For more information, call 251-3130.

TRI-CITY YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE

The Wood River, East Alton and Roxana Recreation Departments offer the TriCity Youth Basketball Program for 2nd-6th grade boys and girls. Registration runs from

October & November and the fee is $45.00 per participant. Games begin in early January. Each participant receives a t-shirt.

TRI-CITY YOUTH BASEBALL & SOFTBALL

Registration runs for the entire month of March. Teams are formed in late April and league play begins in May. The following divisions are offered for a fee of $45.00 ($5.00 late fee after registration date).

Boys : Age 8 – 9 Rookie League – Pitching Machine

Age 10 – 11 Minor League – Player Pitch

Age 12 – 13 Major League – Player Pitch

Age 14 – 16 Juvenile – Player Pitch

Girls: Age 8 – 9 Ponytail League – Pitching Machine

Age 10 – 12 Petite League – Pitching Machine

Age 13 – 16 Chic League – Player Modified Pitch

All of the above will play in the Tri-City League which is made up of teams from Wood River, Roxana and East Alton; with the exception that we will partner with the City of Edwardsville in the Petite & Chic Softball Leagues. All games are played in the evening with some Saturday morning games.

TRI-CITY T-BALL LEAGUE

An instructional T-Ball league for 4 & 5 year olds that will focus on teaching the basic skills and fundamentals of baseball/softball. Games will be played in the evenings beginning the first week of June. Fee: $45. Registrati on runs for the entire month of March. ($5 late fee after March 31st)

TRI-CITY COACH PITCH LEAGUE

A Coach Pitch League for 6 & 7-year old who are ready to move up from the T-Ball League. Games will be played in the evenings beginning the first week of June. Fee: $45. Registration runs for the entire month of Ma rch. ($5 late fee after March 31st)

CLUBS

Senior Adult Program 55+

Adults aged 55 and over are invited to join in activities for a n annual fee of $20.00. Meetings are held at 11 a.m. on the second Thursday of every month. After a brief meeting a full meal is served catered by Chef Bob . The cost per meal is $7.00. The price Chef Bob charges is somewhat more depending on the price of food. A generous gift of $2,500.00 from the mayor and city council allows us to charge the $7.00 amount. After paying the annual fee of $20.00 each member is entitled to 4 meals without paying. Lunch is pro vided for the following occasions:

Mother’s Day (May)

Father’s Day (June)

Thanksgiving (Nov.) Christmas (Dec.)

After the meal is served bingo is played with each winner award ed $2.00. The cost of the bingo is funded by a 50-50 drawing. The meal and the bingo usually end about 1:30 pm.
