JointCare, a modern and innovative

hip and knee replacement service for NHS patients, was developed at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and, based on the latest evidence and care from around the world, it is setting new standards for NHS hip and knee replacement surgery in England.

they enjoy as quickly as possible. The ROH have designed this specific and tailored service to care for knee and hip replacement patients. There are no hospital gowns and long hours in bed; Jointcare is about wellness and recovery.

Patients receive incredible care and recover in an environment which encourages you to move and improve.

They receive information before and after their procedure so that they are empowered to help themselves.

They also take part in group physiotherapy sessions and their family and friends have a role in supporting them during their stay.

The ROH is the only hospital in the UK where JointCare is available.

The win came just weeks after the hospital was nominated for Acute or Specialist Trust of the Year at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards 2019, the most coveted accolade in UK healthcare.

I do the Royal Orthopaedic Request Show. On a Tuesday I spend time around the wards asking patients for song requests evening, so make sure to keep an eye out for me!

What would your three ‘Desert Island’ discs be and why?
