Position Summary HOLA's Technology teacher will work with elementary and secondary aged students, where you will conduct STEM lessons in a classroom or laboratory setting. The Technology Teacher is responsible supporting the Director of Scientific Arts. This person’s duties will be to directly assist the Scientific Arts Director in providing educational classes and developing curriculum for future and current technology classes. In occasional situations, they will provide additional support to students and staff, and help maintain goals of the Scientific Arts Program. Person must also be responsible for equipment when Director is unavailable and be able to make informed, executive decisions when it comes to technology issues. The candidate might offer more advanced classes in software programming, hardware, web design, and graphic design. Classes and ages groups will vary from quarter to quarter. Laboratory experiments for technology education students can be more complex and might involve one or more of the following: • • • • • •
Animation Computer Programming/Coding Electronics Multimedia Applications Robotics 3D Printing and Design
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • (Elementary aged students) Introducing basic computer, keyboard and Internet skills • Teaching students how to use design applications, computer-aided drafting (CAD) or manufacturing to develop technological solutions to problems • Assigning projects so that students learn to deal with real-world constraints, such as time and materials • Allowing students to unravel technological problems using a hands-on, trial-and-error approach • Encouraging creative thinking with challenging classroom projects related to STEM subjects. • Helping students connect math, science and technological principles to everyday life • Collaborates with Information Technology Director to establish goals and priorities for technology solutions. • Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
