Volunteer Grants Success!
THANKS TO A Volunteer Grant from the Australian Government’s Department of Social Services, CIRS will purchase a Square register with POS capacity to make life easier for our much-valued office volunteers and keep us all up to date with new banking processes.
We will still accept cash payments for our popular book sales, office services, and hire fees. In fact, the new register will make cash transactions much simpler for volunteers and give us greater versatility in accepting donations too.

Other items we will purchase with the $4,500 grant include volunteer training and fuel vouchers to make volunteering with CIRS a great opportunity for personal development that doesn’t put you out of pocket.
Our thanks to the Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien for supporting our grant application.
Movie Night
CIRS WILL LAUNCH the CoolaFlix Film Night program on 8 July. At the time of this printing, the film chosen for our first CoolaFlix film night was still not confirmed by the distributor. It was only recently released in cinemas.
Here’s a clue: This is the sequel to a blockbuster animated feature film released in 2012 that was celebrated for its innovation in beautiful 3D imagery. Be warned though, this film is 3 hours and 12 minutes long. Bring a cushion.
If, for some reason, we are unable to secure screening rights for this film before Market Saturday on 8 July, we will have a standby film ready to go and promote it at the markets and via Facebook, posters, email, and word of mouth.
So mark the date on your calendar. Popcorn, soft drinks and food will be available.
