Community Education partnerships: ABE and Adventures Plus work together to create career pathways A news brief helped pitch the story to local news stations: http://bit.ly/ABEAPlus_partnership Purpose The Adventures Plus school-age care program needed support in recruiting staff, and worked with the adult basic education program to design a curriculum to educate adult learners looking for a career in child care. The “grow your own� approach to recruitment not only filled open positions in the school district through hands-on internships, it gave adult basic education students opportunities to earn a livable wage in a career pathway that they wanted to explore.
