Blissful Wanderer Bracelet
Use felt covered wire to create textural beads for this bracelet.
Working with Steel Wire Don’t use regular wire cutters on steel wire, they need to be heavy duty wire cutters (I recommend Xuron brand) or memory wire cutters. Steel wire needs to be treated before working with it. Wipe down the wire with a paper towel, use fine steel wool to rub the entire length of the wire several times. Seal with a very thin coat of Renaissance wax.)
Supplies Ceramic bracelet cuff Polymer clay flower bead 12mm ceramic round beads 16” felted wire Brass butterfly charm
Brass hook clasp 7 10mm brass jump rings 4mm brass jump ring 6” 19 gauge annealed steel wire Fray Check 4
Note: Bracelet measures 8” long
Felted Wire Beads 1. Cut 1 ½” length of steel wire, create loops on both ends of the wire. Cut an 8” piece of felted wire. 2. Use chain nose pliers to wrap one end of the felted wire tightly around the steel wire link. Wrap the felted wire around the steel wire link from top to bottom. Continue wrapping the felted wire around the steel wire once again, covering from one end of the wire to other. Use a small amount of Fray Check to glue the ends of the felted wire. 3. Repeat to make another bead, set aside.
Bracelet Construction 1. Cut a 1 1/2” length of steel wire, create a loop at one end, string on polymer clay flower bead. Trim the wire to 3/8” and create a loop at the other end of the wire, set aside. 2. Cut a 1 1/2” length of steel wire, create a loop at on end, string on the ceramic bead, trim the wire to 3/8” and create a loop at the other end of the wire, set aside. 3. Attach the 4mm jump ring to the butterfly charm. 4. Attach the flower and ceramic bead links to the bracelet cuff with 10mm jump rings, slip on the butterfly charm on the top of the jump ring before closing. 5. Attach the felted beads to the ceramic and flower bead links with 10mm jump rings. 6. Attach the clasp to one of the felted beads with an 10mm jump ring. Add to 10mm jump rings to the other side of the bracelet.
