Yn 15747 LADY PETRA

Page 1

What makes a Heesen so distinctive? Custom built in Holland, it is not just a matter of style but more importantly, the contemporary application of engineering: the architecture of performance. Our concept has evolved over 30 years and the experience we have accrued is unlike that of any other yacht builder in the world. Building in steel to enormously demanding tolerances, the Heesen hull-form is unique – quite simply no other ship shape so optimises the way a yacht moves through water. Our expertise in weight reduction allows for the inclusion of exotic materials – marble, granite, rare woods and even metals, without compromising performance. Indeed a Heesen is a Heesen because we are dedicated to one principle: the performance of luxury.

ady Petra is our eighth full displacement steel yacht at 47 metres. Like every one before her, she was totally custom built. The requirements of her hugely experienced Owner proved yet again that there is no such thing as a typical 47 metre Heesen. The benefit of our experience means that we can deliver an exceptional yacht in less than 24 months with industry leading quality and performance specifications.

With a bulbous bow and a hull optimised to slip through the water, this is an extremely eďŹƒcient piece of naval architecture. Requiring less power to reach a chosen speed, she uses less fuel while cruising on a range of over 4.000 miles. Furthermore, she has the largest possible volume while still remaining under the 500GT threshold.

esigned by Omega Architects, the balance between the yacht’s interior volume and exterior space defies belief. The result is 240 square metres of deck space set over three levels. Sun deck statistics? More than 85 square metres of space and an overall length of 20 metres. Quality of construction comes from our ability to control every aspect of the build process and we manufacture a particularly high proportion of components in-house.

Lady Petra was designed as a family yacht. Dining together often takes place on the 52 square metre aft upper deck that also serves as a private terrace to the master suite.

Demountable carbon pillars support a set of sails that can be furled into the perfect shape to shade the decks as required. On the sun deck, glass screens create privacy without obscuring the spectacular views.

nterior design by Bannenberg & Rowell was based around a highly distinctive Dutch Industrial Design style. Built by Heesen Yachts Interiors and Sinnex, this is another example of the extremely complex being made to look deceptively simple.

Stainless steel plates, curved wenge panels, brushed spruce and thin ribbons of tan leather all bu together perfectly.

One of the most complex features is the main saloon ceiling with light diusion panels split over three levels. Beige leather with tan strips decorate channels either side.

ith the master suite on the upper deck, the main deck has space for a full-beam media lounge. Custom built furniture in silver oak, angled sofas, heavily stepped ceiling and wall panels create a sophisticated atmosphere. A 65 inch screen is connected to the Kaleidescape entertainment system. Set behind this unusual open plan cinema is a study with an adjacent treadmill.

The master suite occupies the entire aft half of the upper deck apart from a private terrace. The suite has a breakfast lounge with a custom built lacquered table that rotates through 180 degrees. With the Owner specifying a particularly large mattress (2.100 x 2.200mm), Heesen built the room around the bed. In the master bathroom, backlit bamboo stalks are set behind frosted glass panelling.

uest accommodation was planned around family requirements: grandparents, parents and lots of children. Of particular note is a VIP twin suite on the upper deck in addition to two double and two twin cabins on the lower deck.

Heesen believes that the quality of the technical and professional areas directly aects the performance both of the crew and the yacht. Piping, cabling, welding and all other mechanical elements are installed with meticulous care and with future maintenance requirements in mind.

A Heesen will always stand for individuality and quality in a world where these ideals are increasingly compromised. A Heesen will always be hand-built by craftsmen in Holland. A Heesen will always be custom-built to combine the Owner’s ideas with our expertise. A Heesen will always be the highest denominator of performance and luxury. A Heesen will always look like a Heesen because it performs like a Heesen.

heesen a company built by yachts

nyone looking to purchase a new yacht from Heesen, should be confident that the quality of the Company is equal to that of the yachts. Frans Heesen founded the Company that bears his name in 1978. Building yachts in aluminium with performance as a priority, overcoming challenges has always driven our spirit of innovation. Having developed the most sophisticated pre-engineered platforms, our yachts are delivered in a time scale and to a quality that is unsurpassed. Heesen is recognised as the world leader in aluminium construction and it is particularly pleasing that our steel yachts consistently win major awards. In one of the most modern construction facilities in the world, every aspect of every yacht is geared towards achieving our exceptional standards of engineering.
