Galactica Star
Exterior Design Galactica Star is a 65-metre Heesen – the largest yacht we have ever built. It is the world’s first aluminium yacht with a fast displacement hull. As a result, she has achieved what was considered impossible if you think along conventional lines. Fortunately, Heesen does not.
that the model was retested to confirm the facts. In a world where a 5 per cent gain is considered a triumph, this hull is 30 per cent more efficient than any other yet tested.
The yacht was designed to achieve opposite objectives. To go faster but use less fuel and to go further but also faster. It is not a riddle, it is not evolution, it is quite simply the result of over 50 million computer calculations and exhaustive testing that had such extraordinary results
Galactica Star has a top speed of over 28 knots but uses 20 per cent less fuel than conventional yachts. It has a range of 4.200 miles at 14 knots and has the highest power to weight ratio of any comparable yacht.

Leave aside the technical and enjoy the lifestyle. Deck space is staggering with over 267 square metres on her three upper decks. The foredeck is both a helipad and sun terrace set over gull wing doors that open to reveal a full-beam tender garage large enough for the 7.5 metre Art of Kinetik speedboat.

Galactica Star
Interior Design Galactica Star has been laid out to enable guests to dine on any deck at any time of the day. (And we have not even included room service in your suite.) With a choice of ten locations the crew can transform each place to suit the mood of the moment. From a quick snack in the beach club to a long lazy lunch on the sun deck; from a candle-lit dinner with gorgeous panoramic views on the upper deck terrace, to a finger buffet and cocktails on the foredeck. Champagne and cruditĂŠs at the main deck bar or perhaps you

want the more formal setting of the main dining saloon. As temperatures soar, ascend to the sun deck for lunch. This calm cool space can be laid out for two or ten in equal comfort and style. Surrounded by wraparound tinted windscreens guests can dine and then recline on the huge sunbed and doze off into the afternoon.

Yet another alternative Upper deck dining
The upper deck dining terrace for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Walk in to the skylounge for cocktails before or after dinner or curl up on the sofas and armchairs and watch a film on the Kaleidescape movie system. Inside and out, this is a wonderful space of over 70 square metres that manages to be either intimate, or large enough to entertain a group of friends.

Main deck and Jacuzzi By Omega Architects
The upper level of the beach club is on the maindeck. Omega Architects’ dramatic exterior styling is inspiringly bold. The vast curves of the superstructure form a vital part of the monocoque structure. It is not usual on an exotic car but it’s highly unusual on a 65-metre yacht. Set out under four skylights that span almost the entire width of the deck, banquette sofas and Glyn Peter Machin signature armchairs create an incredibly relaxed atmosphere. Steps lead up to the infinity view glass bottom 3.5 square metre Jacuzzi.

Dining Bannenberg and Rowell’s interior design
Dramatic, striking, highly original and extremely demanding of several different skills quite apart from the final construction process. Our largest yacht was also our greatest challenge. Heesen Interiors and Sinnex worked together to create complex panelling, intricate furniture pieces and inlaid surfaces that can only be described as the art of craftsmanship. The designer’s idea, the owner’s enthusiasm - the buck stops at Heesen to problem solve and create something astonishing. Wall panel ideas included an interlinking weave of wenge edged with stainless steel. The distinctive door design used throughout the yacht is handmade from stripes of smoked oak and silver ripple sycamore with an inset plate of textalium carbon fibre. Despite the need to save every gramme of weight to ensure the performance, the floor was laid with travertine limestone.

Dine-in galley
Part of the overall concept of Galactica Star was the interaction between guests and crew – particularly with regard to the cooking and presentation of food. The large main deck galley has a very unusual feature – the chef’s table, a concept taken from the world’s top restaurants and now featured on a yacht. With an exclusive seating area for just three guests, the chef can create to order or share culinary skills right in front of the fortunate diners.

Staircase
A grand staircase connects the lower three decks. The circular walls are lined with macassar with polished steel stripes, like all the other detailing, made in-house at our metal works department. The backlit leather handrail twists and turns over a drop of nearly 40 metres. It passes through three floors of striated stone inlaid with 3 cm wide satin steel lines. Meticulous and flawless, these are the Heesen standards.

Owner’s bathroom
The bathroom is almost entirely built of heavyweight stone, veneered by skilled Heesen masons to a thickness of a few millimeters. Custom-made Lexington marble basins are set into silver travertine vanity units. Matching marble panels over such a large number of surfaces and different directions was a task of fastidious dedication.
