nly Built 4 Cuban Linx..., commonly known as The Purple Tape, is a concept album that chronicles the tale of two gangsters who are a part of a made-up crime syndicate called the “Wu-Gambinos.” The gangsters are portrayed by Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. The record is famous for its vivid visuals, dramatic narrative, and sophisticated language. The album’s smash single, “Ice Cream,” has an unforgettable melody by Method Man, a beautiful R&B sample, and verses by Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna. Raekwon’s position as one of the key figures in the Wu-Tang Clan was further cemented by the song’s commercial success.
