Bellaire High School-Memorial Hermann-After going through an application process including an essay, two recommendation letters, and an interview, members of Key Club accepted into the Memorial Hermann hospital volunteering program begin volunteering during the summer and sign up for certain days and shift times to go to the hospital on a weekly basis. At the hospital, volunteers can help out at various different parts of the hospital such as the STICU, SIMU, PACU, information desk, radiology, neonatal and prenatal care, day surgery, heart and vascular, rehabilitation and physical therapy, cancer center, and many other areas! Volunteers aim to help the hospital run more efficiently and to care and lend a helping hand to patients. (Written by Amber Liu)
Christian Education Alliance High School-Legacy Crossing Babysitting– Key Club members volunteered at Legacy Crossing/Father Daughter Campout, by watching girls while their fathers had devotionals.
MacArthur High School-Cop and Kids Picnic-One of our club's favorite events to volunteer for is the annual Cops and Kids Picnic. Parents and their children, from all over Lawton and surrounding areas, gather in Elmer Thomas Park to meet with police officers, firemen, and other law enforcers. It gives kids a chance to see another perspective of law enforcement, and there are many fun games to play! Our club assists with setting up, manning booths and registration tables, and cleaning up. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with all sorts of people within the community! -(Written by Julia Welsh).
