Ideas on Gaining Member Involvement
Publicize your events all over! Remind members about events at club meetings, send text messages to members, update your club website, post to your Facebook/other social media. Tailor your publication efforts to your club, do what they will respond to! While publicizing, make all of your events seem interesting. No one wants to go to a boring event, so make sure that you are emphasizing the fantastic aspect of your events. Attend your events yourselves. Members will not attend if you do not provide a positive example. Find events that are more interesting. Sadly, its hard to get a member to attend an event that they won’t have fun at. While not all service can be fun, try everything you can to make your projects/events as fun as possible!
Make your events accessible. Find nearby events. Members do not want to go far away, and also, try and have events that are long so that all of the busy members can attend when they are available. Have service projects at your meetings. You can always do stuff like make cards, writing letters, making toys for kids, Making anti-bullying posters, the options are endless!
Have more events!
