ENG AND DNG FANS Application ENG and DNG marine centrifugal fans are used in the ventilation system of seagoing ships with unrestricted cruising area as well as offshore objects. The fans can be used as exhaust or supply fans and be installed inside the compartment. The 1-phase drives (ENG) can be adjusted directly. The 3-phase drives (DNG) can be adjusted by a converter. Drive All drive motors employed are designed for continual operation and comply with the valid VDE regulations, Euro-norms and accident prevention regulations. Employed as standard: • Split-pole motors 230 V, 50 Hz • Single-phase alternating-current motors 230 V, 50 Hz with operating capacitor • Rotary-current motors 230/400 V, 50 Hz • Broad-voltage-range motors 202-306/350-530 V, 50/60 Hz • ATEX motors in the types of protection EEX“e“ or EEX“de“ Type of protection “d“ flameproof enclosure Type of protection in which the parts that could ignite an explosive atmosphere are enclosed in a casing.
“e“ increased safety Type of protection in which measures are taken to provide a higher level of safety, preventing inadmissibly high temperatures and the occurrence of sparks and electrical arcs in the interior or exterior parts of electrical equipment, where these do not occur in normal operation (EN 50019). Impeller speed All employed fan impellers are dynamically balanced in two planes. The balance quality is according to DIN ISO 1940. With the low-pressure fans, fans with split-pole motors and external rotors, forward-curved drum-type rotors (DNG 9-30) or backward-curved high-performance impellers are employed. The standard material is galvanized-steel plate. With the middle-pressure fans (DMV), forward-curved middle-pressure impellers from aluminum or coated-steel plate are employed. Backward-curved middle-pressure high-performance impellers are employed with the DMV models. All fan impellers are generally available in stainless steel (1.4301) Direction of rotation The direction of rotation is defined in relation to the suction side of the fan. The standard design is clockwise rotation. Unless otherwise specified in the order, the motor is mounted at: • clockwise rotation: foot R90, terminal box RO • anticlockwise rotation: foot R90, terminal box RO Other positions for the foot, terminal box or condensate drain holes must defined separately. Air performance curves and sound level information are available on request.
