DAMPERS There are different types of dampers: • Fire and smoke dampers • Air control and shut-off dampers Fire and smoke dampers Fire and smoke dampers prevent the spread of fire and smoke between fire zones, where people must have the maximum amount of time to react to possible fire. The dampers are type-approved according to A-0 (A-60). The A-60 marine fire and smoke damper complements the range of automatic fire and gas dampers and associated controls. The damper is the solution for shipboard air conditioning and ventilation systems fire safety engineering strategies.
ACFD A-60 fire and smoke dampers Frame: AISI 316 stainless steel / galvanized steel. Thickness: 1.2, 2 or 3 mm. Blades: AISI 316 and AISI 430 options. Sizes: 100x100 ~ 1000x1000 mm. Circular connection pieces: 100 ~ 1000 mm. Air control and shut-off dampers Air control and shut-off dampers control the airflow or shut off airflow in ductwork where tightness, thermal insulation and reliability are important. The dampers meet international standards for both rectangular and circular ducts and the leakage class is accordance with the EN1751 standards.
ACCS air control and shut-off balancing dampers Frame: AISI 316 stainless steel / galvanized steel. Thickness: 1.5 mm. Blades: AISI 316 stainless steel. Sizes: 100x100 ~ 1200x1200 mm at 50 mm intervals. Operation system: electrical, pneumatic or manual. Double section modules possible. Control The dampers can be controlled electrically, pneumatically or manually. In case of fire, the fire and gas dampers will close automatically. The electrically and pneumatically controlled dampers are driven by an actuator. Belimo actuator: standard actuator Schischek actuator: actuator used in explosionproof areas or if the actuator must open/close within 3 sec./90°C.

MARINE FIRE DAMPERS A-60 marine fire and smoke dampers are used in air conditioning and ventilation systems, in dry filtered air. The dampers have been tested and approved for fitting to class A-60 divisions (bulkheads and decks), when suitably insulated (refer to insulation details). The dampers can be used where the maximum system pressure is up to 1500 Pa and duct velocities are limited to 15m/s. Pay particular attention to the blade rivets, where crevice corrosion will cause rapid failure of blades if not kept in check. The dampers are suitable for vertical and horizontal applications, with airflow in either direction. The dampers are normally open and failsafe to the closed position. The dampers have two casings and blade options: 1. 430 Stainless steel blades, galvanized steel casing - only suitable for installation in dry filtered systems. 2. 316 Stainless steel blades, casing and drive - more suited for corrosive conditions, but even this will rapidly corrode and fail if not properly maintained, when used in air intake systems at sea. The addition of a mist eliminator is highly recommended and access must be provided for maintenance. • • • •
Type-approved class A-60 when suitably insulated. Available as ATEX-approved. Optional Silicon blade seals can be provided for low leakage requirement at ambient temperature. Electrical Thermal Release (ETR) temperature 72 ºC or Pneumatic Thermal Release (PTR) with a failsafe 74 °C fusible link. • Low weight due to patented double skin blade structure. • Automatic electrical, pneumatic or spring operation system available. • Maximum duct pressure: 1500 Pa. Maximum air velocity: 15 m/s. Part
