Since 1994 Joerg Heitsch runs his gallery in Munich to feature international contemporary art. With the opening of Joerg Heitsch Gallery GmbH at the lake Tegernsee with a sculpture garden in 2013 the focus of figurative and abstract painting was opened towards contemporary sculpture. The gallery intends to promote primarily young talents who reflect on modern issues and redefine art history in order to give them a chance to enter prominent private and public collections.

Seit 1994 betreibt Jörg Heitsch die Galerie für internationale, zeitgenössische Kunst in München am Gärtnerplatz mit der Entwicklung und Umsetzung von Kulturkonzepten an der Schnittstelle Kunst, Kommunikation & Markt. Mit der Eröffnung einer Dependance am Tegernsee mit Skulpturengarten im Herbst 2013 wurde der Fokus von figurativer und abstrakter Malerei auf die zeitgenössische Bildhauerei ausgeweitet. Das besondere Engagement der Galerie gilt zeitgenössischen Künstlern, die moderne Inhalte vermitteln und die die Kunstgeschichte neu ausloten.

Desde 1994 Joerg Heitsch está a cargo de su galería en Múnich para dar a conocer artistas contemporáneos internacionales. Con la apertura de Joerg Heitsch Gallery GmbH en el lago de Tegernsee con un jardín repleto de esculturas en el año 2013, el repertorio característico de la galerá con pintura figurativa y la pintura abstracta, abrió camino a la escultura. La galería tiene como objetivo promover jóvenes talentos que reflejan temáticas de interés actuales, como una redefinición de la historia del arte, buscando darle una oportunidad a los artistas de entrar en colecciones privadas y públicas internacionales.

From June 2, 2016 Joerg Heitsch Gallery Munich is going to present selected contemporary artworks that are directly related to art history. The shown NEW MASTERS are contemporary artistic positions that bear a relation in content and form to the „Old Masters“ which are approved in art history. Through the juxtaposition of works by NEW MASTERS and works by „Old Masters“ as well as through the classification of the NEW MASTERS in art history, the „Old Masters“ will shine in a new light.

Bei den hier vorgestellten NEW MASTERS handelt es sich um zeitgenössische Künstlerpositionen, die sowohl inhaltlich als auch formal in Bezug zu den in der Kunstgeschichte anerkannten Alten Meistern stehen. Durch die Kontextualisierung der NEW MASTERS in Bezug auf Inhalt, Technik und Qualität sowie die Einordnung der NEW MASTERS in die Kunstgeschichte erstrahlen auch die Alten Meister in einem neuen Licht.

A partir del 2 de julio la Galería Joerg Heitsch en Múnich va a presentar una selección de obras de arte contemporáneo que están en directa relación con la historia del arte. La exposición NEW MASTERS se trata de una presentación de artistas que trabajan inspirándose directamente en los maestros clásicos del renacimiento y el barroco, de tal forma que los maestros clásicos se actualizan en una nueva visión contemporánea.

Bas Meeuws is a young photographer who is injecting the traditional Dutch genre of the flower piece with new élan. He composes his work the way the old masters did, flower by flower in luxury and splendour. The result is a layered photography that transcends time. In the area of digital photography he is a self-taught all-rounder and proficient in documentation, portraiture, nature and children. It is only in flower pieces, however, that his interests coalesce: beauty, nature, the technical challenge, meaning and art.

Bas Meeuws ist ein junger Fotograf, welcher das traditionelle holländische Genre der Blumenstillleben neu inszeniert. Wie die Alten Meister komponiert er seine Werke Blüte für Blüte in voller Pracht. Das Resultat ist eine collagenhafte Fotografie, welche sich jenseits alles Vergänglichem bewegt. In seinen Blumenstücken vereint der Künstler so seine Hauptinteressen: Schönheit, Natur, technische Herausforderung, Ikonographie und Kunst. Mit all ihrer perfekten, jedoch digitalen Schönheit lassen die Werke den Glanz des niederländischen Goldenen Zeitalters neu erstrahlen.

Bas Meeuws es un joven fotógrafo que está renovando completamente el género holandés de la naturaleza muerta, especialmente las composiciones florales. El artista compone sus obras tal y como lo hacían los maestros clásicos y del neoclasicismo, flor por flor de forma minuciosa. El resultado es una fotografía compuesta por multitud de capas que transciende las fronteras del tiempo. Dentro del area de la fotografía digital, él es absolutamente autodidáctico y un experto en obra documental, retrato y naturaleza. Sin embargo, es en especial en sus motivos florales en donde su fuerza expresiva sale a la luz.

Danielle van Zadelhoff knows how to capture these feelings which accompany every person the whole life, in one single moment when she takes a photo. Her photographs can leave no person untouched. In her pictures one can see life, loneliness, vulnerability, innocence, the pure emotions. Especially today, when everything is loud and changing quickly, a picture like that can bring you back to what really matters and what can still touch you deeply. We may often forget where we come from, but we all contain the history within ourselves and grow up with a cultural heritage.

Lutz Wagner aka Moto Waganari creates transparent network-sculptures which outline a delicate body frame. By illuminating his sculptures the artists multiplies his three dimensional objects by a two dimensional shadow revealing the immaterial alter ego of every figure. His characters seem to visualize a surreal, parallel world filled with surprise and enigma. Moto Waganari’s sculptures seduce the spectator with their appealing beauty and sophisticated weightlessness.

Iluminando sus figuras el artista multiplica el efecto tridimensional de la obras, revelando el alter ego inmaterial de cada efigie. Craig‘s collections run the gamut from abstract expressionism to haunting, graphic realism, each one a reflection of its creator‘s unique vision. He is most well-known for his Populus series, which drew inspiration from a balcony overlooking Orange Beach, Alabama where patrons enjoying a wedding party seemed to form the shape of an eye where they stood. Craig explains, „Inspiration begins with a ‚What if...‘ as I consider alternate imagery, surfaces, effects, results, etc. It comes from the past in conjunction with now. Like a bolt of lightning.“ Since the epiphany, his Populus series is now home to dozens of celebrities and icons of all ages.

Geboren 1971 in San Bernardino in Kalifornien führte der Weg von Craig Alan in jungen Jahren nach New Orleans und schließlich an die Universität von Alabama. Schon als Student erregte er Aufsehen. Preise und Auszeichnungen für seine künstlerischen Arbeiten bedeuteten keinen Stillstand, sondern vielmehr Anreiz, neue Ausdrucksformen in der Mixed-Media-Technik zu entwickeln. Ausgangspunkt seiner auf Holz und Leinwand realisierten Werke sind zunächst eigene Fotoaufnahmen von Menschengruppen. Durch aufwendige Bildauflösungen und optische Veränderungen entstehen anschließend unterschiedliche Choreografien, die oft Porträts bedeutender Künstlerpersönlichkeiten zum Vorbild haben.

Craig Alan nació en el año 1971 en San Bernardino, California. A edad muy temprana se trasladó a Nueva Orleans y terminó accediendo a la Universidad de Alabama. Siendo estudiante consiguió ya multitud de seguidores, galardones y premios, hecho le animaría a continuar su trabajo como artista y empezar su carrera profesional e investigar su propio estilo dentro de la técnica mixta. El punto de partida de sus pinturas sobre tabla o lienzo son la elaboración de masas multitudinarias realizadas con extrema precisión. Por medio de un efecto óptico y la propia perspectiva del público, los cuadros terminan dando lugar a retratos de personajes archiconocidos, muchos de ellos artistas o actores de fama mundial.

Camille Hagner developes his painting cycles by searching for clues in the past. For his oil paintings the artist combines motives of historical paintings or photographs with his own picture imaginations and creatures as well as with contemporary topics such as technology or aerospace. Hagner creates ambivalent, strange visual spaces, in which humans, animals and machines merge to timeless views. The artist lives and works in Switzerland.

In this case, NEW MASTERS are contemporary artistic positions inspired by the international post-war art movement that set up an updated vision of our contemporary art history. Through the juxtaposition of works by NEW MASTERS and works by „modern masters“ as well as through the classification of the NEW MASTERS in art history, the „modern masters“ will shine in a new light. NEW MASTERS raise in particular the abstract art to a new level without losing the authenticity of the history of art. Thus, one could claim that NEW MASTERS is not only the continuation of the contemporary art history, but also a completely new vision of modern art.

Por medio de la yuxtaposición de obras de NEW MASTERS con los „modern masters“ y viceversa, estos también reviven en un nuevo contexto actual. NEW MASTERS se concentra en especial en la abstracción llevandola a otro nivel sin perder la esencia de la historia del arte.
