Pam Turner’s exhibition continues until Thurs 9th Dec. Pam’s watercolour, acrylic and mixed media paintings frequently reflect her enthusiasm for travel and architecture. She exhibits regularly and has undertaken private and commercial commissions. She is particularly interested in exploring and experimenting with a variety of styles to best reflect her work.

We shall be celebrating December with an open mic evening at the Garstang Arts Centre. There will be mulled wine, mince pies and plenty of music, not just ukuleles. Everyone is welcome to come and play or just to listen.

We are all enjoying our weekly singing. It’s so good to be together again after what has been a very unusual eighteen months. We continue to be cautious given the virus is obviously still around but having the joy of music to share certainly lifts our spirits. We have planned our Christmas party at the Art Centre for Mon 13th Dec at 12:30pm. If any of our ladies wish to join us could you please let me know by Mon 6th Dec for catering purposes. We will resume our weekly meetings on Mon 3rd Jan when subscriptions to the Art Centre will be due. Christmas wishes and the hope of

Garstang Floral Art

At the meeting in September, June and I explained to members that we wished to step down as leaders of the group. I am writing this in early November and to date no-one has come forward to take over the running of the Floral Art Group. If there is anyone willing to take on the roles of chairperson, secretary or treasurer please contact either June or myself. It is a very friendly group and we would be sorry to have to close it down. Contact myself, Mary or June. Mary 01995

At our November meeting we discussed ‘The Black House’ by Peter May. This author was a popular choice with the group although we all agreed that the book had a rather dark side and certainly didn’t make the Isle of Lewis feel very welcoming! However several members of the group are going to continue to read the trilogy. For our next meeting on Tues 14th Dec the recommended book is ‘All the Lonely People’ by Mike Gayle. The theme is loneliness and racism but it is definitely a feel good book. In January our recommended book is ‘600 hours of Edward’ by Craig Lancaster For more information contact: Linda 07795 064 266 or Sandra
