Treasure Hunt and Easter bonnet competition, for children and families. We must wait for any guidelines and possible restrictions. We have several thanks and acknowledgements to report. Many thanks and congratulations go to our parish council and in particular Councillor Morton for their successful submission against the second application for two large care homes and even more new housing in our village. Thanks also go to all residents who objected and registered their views. Our thanks go to Duncan McDonald at Goosefoot Christmas tree farm for giving the SSRA Christmas tree to Stalmine this year. Thanks also go to Mark Heardman for organising it for us and to Gary Coleman for once again sorting the lovely lighting. The next SSRA meeting is on Wed 12th Jan, 7:00pm at the Seven Stars. Donations
Our club has again provided a significant sum of money to buy some Christmas gifts for distribution by the Fylde Women’s Aid. These were delivered to their offices in Blackpool in December. Our thanks go to those Lions who helped with both the selection and delivery of these welcome presents. A special thank you must go to B and S supplies for their generous support and providing additional cosmetics,

Events & Activities
December has been a busy month with members of the club assisting in parking the cars of entrants and officials at the Garstang Running Club at Myerscough College in December to allow their annual ten mile run to take place. On the same day other members helped with the road closures for the annual Garstang Santa Dash and Oaklands Care Home’s own version of this event. Also in December Santa and his elves visited six of our local care homes to deliver presents to all of the residents and the staff. This year this has included the addition of members of Choir 1 who sang a medley of carols. The residential homes involved were Abbeyfield, Cornmill, Oaklands, Catterall House, Bowgreave Rise and Bowerswood House. The annual and ever-popular tractor race was held on Mon 27th Dec and also saw strong involvement from our Lions group. The first event planned for 2022 is the annual Garstang 10k Road Race on Sun 9th Jan starting at Garstang Academy. We will be assisting with the parking of cars for entrants and officials.
