A note for your diary! On Sat 17th Sept, we have been kindly invited by the Old Holly Farm in Cabus to tour the fabulous working environment of a modern organic dairy farm, looking at paddock grazing cows and ongoing environmental projects. We will also have the opportunity of learning about the bee hive. Clean boots essential! There will also be an option of stopping at Fowler Hill butty van for a bacon butty. This farm walk is open to both our veterans and their families. Details for the visit will be published on our veterans Facebook page shortly where you may also book. Maximum of 25 visitors, so book early. Garstang Town Council will this month be considering arrangements for this year’s Remembrance events in November – Armistice Day on Fri 11th Nov and the Memorial Service on Remembrance Sunday 13th. The Breakfast Club have again been asked to assist in the planning process and will therefore be represented. Our purpose is to help veterans and serving Armed Forces personnel to meet face to face in a relaxed, safe, social environment to enjoy breakfast and banter, to combat loneliness and allow veterans to ‘return to the tribe’. There are no fees or subs, you just pay for your own breakfast – simple! Come an enjoy a breakfast menu ranging from full English breakfast, sausage or bacon butty to beans on toast - all with free tea and coffee. But above all, the opportunity to catch up with your fellow Veterans and their families, and once again, enjoy some goodnatured banter. Please note: Our clubs are normally held on the 1st Saturday of each month. We meet at The Wheatsheaf, 1 Park Hill Road, Garstang PR3 1EL at 9:30 am.
