TIME TO SAY FAREWELL I’m saddened to announce that I’m having to close my Garstang podiatry practice on High Street as a consequence of my recent illness and my subsequent ongoing recovery. I have met many wonderful people and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your custom and friendship over the past 20 years and especially for all your thoughts and well wishes throughout my recent illness. I’m certainly going to miss you all but hope that some of you will keep in touch. Signing off with sadness and regret. Gill Bradshaw 07930 999 946 gillbradshawpodiatry@gmail.com

Ladies & Gents Barbers Excellent cutting & styling Dynamic hair extensions We pride ourselves on perming, colouring & setting Put-ups for special occasions Walk-ins welcome
The Fairtrade team took part in the Small Charities event at Blackpool which enabled us to get across the Fairtrade message and what Garstang are doing to promote Fairtrade as the world’s first Fairtrade Town. This leads very nicely on to our submission for Fairtrade Town renewal status where we have highlighted all the activities we have been involved in and around Garstang and how we are growing our team and our presence. We are delighted to be working with the Garstang Bloomers who have been very helpful and supportive in moving the Fairtrade information board to a new site as part of developing the new Norah Hoyles garden. Contact If you would like to get involved with the world’s first Fairtrade Town and help promote Fairtrade or have comments/queries about Fairtrade, then please drop us an email at garstangfairtrade@gmail.com We would love to hear from you. GARSTANG KNIT & NATTER The Knit and Natter group is still busy with a variety of projects, including knitting for the premature baby unit at Lancaster Royal Infirmary. One of our members has taught another to crochet, and she has produced a lovely poppy which will be added to those we are knitting and crocheting for the Poppy Project. Remember the poppy display at the Market Cross in November last year? Well this year’s will be even more spectacular. If you’d like to help the project just call in at Sweets on the High Street for a free pattern and more information. Happy knitting! Mary Randles

GARSTANG IN BLOOM All appeared to go really well on Tues 2nd July when the North West in Bloom judges visited Garstang. The rain held off and the town looked great after everyone’s hard work. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for another Gold but we don’t get the results until the beginning of November - such a long time to wait! We are now getting ready for the RHS Britain in Bloom national competition which will be judged on Wed 7th Aug, so we must ensure that the town is looking top notch once again. This doesn’t just include the plants and floral displays, of course, but the ‘furniture’ needs to be clean and the streets free of litter. You may already have noticed a group of volunteers (four tradesmen from Garstang) have painted the bollards down the High Street and Wyre Council have done the same with the pedestrian signposts. The shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants have created some lovely displays, too, which will be judged in the Business Competition the week before. A big thank you to all involved! It isn’t just the centre of town that is judged, though. They’ll be looking at the two gardens along Croston Rd, meticulously cared for by Joe, one of the Bloomers, and visiting the Woodlands Community gardens on Oak Rd, Kepple Lane Park, the Millennium Green and Garstang Marina. Good luck and Best Wishes to you all. If you would like to join in with our preparations, please come along to the car park on the High St at 7:00pm on Wednesdays (except Wed 7th August when it will be Tues 6th Aug instead). You don’t have to know anything about gardening and will be given a good welcome. Gill Bergman Garstang in Bloom

CATTERALL IN BLOOM Congratulations and well done to everyone in Catterall who worked so hard to make our village look colourful, clean and lovely for the RHS Britain in Bloom judges’ visit at the beginning of August. This was a great honour for Catterall, as we represented the North West region in the national final.
Bring a trowel and come along to join us, as we welcome happy gardeners of any age and ability. Look out for Mr Wobbly! Netta Parker and the Bloomers of Catterall 07508 144 181
GARSTANG PAINTING GROUP
The results will not be revealed until the Autumn, but we know that we did our best, and the community worked together, weeding, painting, sewing bunting, watering and litter picking. The support from everyone has been fantastic. Thank you all.
August is one of, if not, THE most exciting months in the Painting Group’s calendar.
We won’t stop working now the judging has finished, but we are taking a week off before we start again with Bloom gardening on Tuesday’s at 10:30am at Catterall Village Hall, and Wednesday’s at 7:00pm at the Stone Cross Community Garden.
The exhibition runs until Wed 21st Aug and is followed almost immediately by the Ron Coombes Exhibition which opens on Tues 27th Aug (handing in day for this is Sat 24th Aug). The Ron Coombes Exhibition runs until Sat 21st Sept and, as one of our greatest exhibitions, is one not to be missed!
It’s a month that sees the members’ own exhibition at the Garstang Art Centre when we can exhibit our paintings, both recent and past, for viewing or for sale.
On Sat 17th Aug the Garstang Arts and Music Festival starts and during the following week the Painting Group performs its ‘Montmartre’ Demonstration out in the Arts Centre courtyard. This takes place on Wed 21st Aug and Thurs 22nd Aug during the afternoon and Saturday morning (weather permitting). The public are invited to watch painters at work and discuss their techniques and mediums (and choice of subject matter) with various members of the group. A most interesting occasion for all concerned! The Festival ends on Mon 26th Aug. And so ends one of the busiest months of our year. For more information about the group or any of the exhibitions / events listed above, please contact Carolyn Wood (01253) 812270. Bill Barnes

HEALTHY JOINTS In my osteopathic work I encounter many patients with injured joints. These may be acute injuries such as a sprain all the way through to more long term problems such as osteoarthritis and joints damaged by autoimmune diseases. I often hear the term ‘wear and tear’ and ‘it must be my age’. If you read my words regularly you’ll see that I’m never that impressed with the age excuse. I’m not too impressed with wear and tear either. However, rather than worrying too much about why our joints may start to show problems let us focus more on maintaining good joint health as we get older. Our joints are made of two bones that generally fit together due to their shape such as the ball and socket joint of the hip. Our shoulder is an exception as it has the ball but no proper socket, this means it is both
highly mobile and unstable at the same time, hence shoulder injuries are relatively easy to sustain. Lining the end of the bone where the joint is we have smooth cartilage which enables friction free movement. Covering the joint is a bag like capsule called the synovium which produces synovial fluid to lubricate the joint. This fluid is also full of nutrients which feed the joint. Synovial fluid has a thixotrophic quality which means when we put pressure into our joint from movement it turns from a watery substance to a gel like goo which enables more effective shock absorbing. These simple qualities indicate the most effective way to keep a joint healthy. Keep it moving. Movement washes the nutrients from synovial fluid over the joint surfaces thus feeding and aiding repair of the cartilage and it also protects the joint by causing the fluid to thicken. Most arthritic change is actually caused by disuse, not wear and tear because sitting at desks and in front of the TV prevents the fluid from feeding your joint properly. Prolonged lack of use also causes muscles to shorten which begins to restrict freedom of movement. So remedy number one for any joint problem is pain free repetitive movement. Or, if there is no problem, prevent trouble by keeping active and moving every single day. Your body is a moving machine not a sitting machine. Try to move every joint of your body through its whole range of movement every day. Even small movements that get you nowhere but get a joint moving can help which is worth noting if you have some pain or inability to move as freely as you would like. In a two month study of people with painful

There are various supplements that can help your joints too from the ever reliable cod liver oil to glucosamine and chondroitin. Rosehip oil is good too. Choosing a supplement is very much a matter of personal choice, experience and budget of course – find what works for you. However, I cannot stress enough the profoundly powerful effects of movement which is far more potent than any drug you can take and brings side effects of more energy, a healthy heart and better sleep – what are you waiting for? GARSTANG TOWN COUNCIL Is Your Overgrown Vegetation Causing Others a Problem? How can a hedge be a hazard? Overgrown hedges next to footpaths and roads pose a real hazard to people who are disabled or who are visually impaired and young children or other pedestrians who risk injury or damage to their faces or clothing from thorns and branches. If the pavement (footway) is narrow or the obstruction is excessive, they may be forced into the road. This is particularly dangerous for wheelchair users, cyclists or for people pushing a pram or buggy. On junctions and bends overgrown hedges may obstruct sight lines and the clear view of motorists. They may also obscure traffic signs or streetlights, increasing the risk of accidents. It’s important you keep your hedges, trees and shrubs trimmed so that people using the roads and pavements can do so safely. What Should I Do? Check your own trees and hedges. Are they overhanging the footpath or boundary of your property? Are they affecting visibility for road users? If so, cut them back (or arrange to have them cut back) as soon as possible.

GARSTANG TOWN COUNCIL (cont) within your boundary to or above the heights as stated in the following leaflet:
Who is responsible for maintaining them? If a hedge or tree on your property overhangs the road or pavement or may fall on to the road, it’s legally your responsibility (under the Highways Act 1980) to keep it trimmed and maintained. The County Council has a legal responsibility to protect the safety of highway users by making sure that land and property owners keep hedges, trees and shrubs maintained. What will happen if I don’t cut my hedge? Where vegetation is becoming a problem, the County Council may serve a notice on the householder, landowner or occupier requiring the necessary work to be completed within a stated period. Failure to comply may result in the Council undertaking the work and claiming back the costs incurred. So good advice is to: •
Cut back your hedges and trees etc to
www.lancashire.gov.uk/ media/911121/vegeatation-leafletjuly19.pdf •
Regularly maintain them so they do not become an obstruction.
•
Seek advice if you have any doubts.

GARSTANG MEDICAL PRACTICE Appointments During the Summer Following the very positive patient feedback we received last year, we will again be running open surgeries on Mondays and Fridays throughout the month of August. Though the demand for appointments is unpredictable, generally Mondays and Fridays are the busiest days and we hope that by having more appointments available on those days we will be able to provide the best service we can.
always be respected. However, we do ask that this is the exception and not the norm as the doctors and nurses will be unable to appropriately assess which patients need to be seen by whom. The receptionist will give you an allocated time window to come to surgery e.g., 9:00 am - 9:30am. You may then come down at :ny time within that half hour. You will be asked to sit and wait to be called in by the most appropriate clinician.
When you telephone the surgery you will still need to give the receptionist an idea of your problem so that the clinicians can prioritise and ensure patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician.
Patients will be able to express a preference as to who they would like to see but this will not be guaranteed as it will depend on who is available that day and the number of patients requesting any particular clinician. The doctors will work through the list of patients between them in order of both time and clinical priority.
If your problem is such that you would prefer not to pass these details to our staff, this will
On the other days of the week there will still be same day appointments, as we have now,
Patients must still ring the surgery first; it is not a ‘walk in’ service.

Amongst the plethora of new governmentcontrolled Quangos being planned for a post European UK is the British Ukulele Music Society which plans to restrict the number of chords being played to those known to the Cabinet and to ban the use of the left hand. Henceforth it will be illegal to play anything other than in C6 or Am7. The Garstang Ukulele Group have joined with others from around the country to protest the centralised control by these government BUMS. We plan to spend the summer engaged in rebellion by playing more than 3 chords and we shall form them with our left hands. CAT SMITH MP I hope you’re all enjoying the summer and looking forward to having the children and grandchildren causing mayhem for the next few weeks now school has broken up. This is a great time of the year for me because like all MP’s we’re able to leave the turbulence of Westminster to spend even more time with our constituents. I’ve recently had the pleasure of visiting Fleetwood’s Charity Primary School in Preesall to meet the pupils and head teacher John Belshire. It’s a lovely school and the staff do an amazing job against the backdrop of budgets being slashed and declining teacher numbers. I also really enjoyed the Knott End and Preesall Gala this year. We were blessed with fantastic weather. Congratulations to the Preesall Rainbows who won the best float competition and to Kepplegate Nursing Home for winning first prize in the scarecrow competition! I hope the new Gala Queen Emily and her retinue have a fun and exciting year ahead! One of the biggest issues I’m concerned about at the moment is the number of distressed constituents with disabilities contacting me to say they’ve had their Personal Independence Payments (PIP) taken away from them with little warning. PIP is worth up to £145.35 a week and is designed to help towards the additional costs of a disability or long-term illness, such as help getting dressed, cooking meals or getting around. PIP claimants often face controversial assessments, conducted by private companies on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). I’ve discovered that disabled people in our
32

CAT SMITH MP (cont) constituency are waiting more than a year to have their Personal Independence Payment appeals heard - leaving them out of pocket and unable to buy in vital services. More than 70 percent of all PIP refusals are overturned on appeal. However, some of the most vulnerable and needy in Over Wyre are having to wait more than 12 months for their appeal to be heard. Twelve months without help to get dressed, cook a meal or leave the house. This is completely unacceptable. Government research suggests that 37% of people do not appeal the DWP’s decision because ‘the process would be too stressful’ while 20% said they were ‘too unwell’ to challenge it. Government figures show from the point of registration to the point of a decision being made takes 15 weeks. If the claim is rejected then the claimant has to request mandatory reconsideration. This takes a further five weeks. If this is rejected, then the claim goes to appeal which is taking a further 52 weeks. In all it can take 18 months to be awarded welfare support to help a person with a disability live a more independent life. I’ve once again written to the DWP demanding a review of the system. It’s not fair that people with disabilities are missing out on the advantages the rest of us enjoy. Every week I’m contacted by distressed and desperate people who have become prisoners in their own homes and see months of misery ahead. This has to change.

CAT SMITH MP keep an eye on my website for further news. Are you eligible for Pension Credit and if so, are you claiming it? It’s been discovered that millions in pension support is going unclaimed every year. Pension Credit makes a major difference to the lives of older people, enabling them to afford the very basics and to live with more independence and dignity. Here in the Lancaster and Fleetwood constituency it’s estimated that 1,852 older people are missing out on a combined £4,591,000 every year. The most recent Government figures show that up to 1.3 million households entitled to this benefit are not receiving it, with a value of up to £3.5 billion. Almost 2 million older people aged 65 and over are living in poverty in the UK. The recent rise in pensioner poverty has been primarily amongst those who rent. According to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation poverty among pensioners in the private rented sector is now 36% (up from 27% in 2007/08). For social renters, poverty has risen from 20% to 31% since 2012/13. For the poorest pensioners in the UK, the weekly cost for those paying off a mortgage was £50 in 2016/17, £81 for those privately renting and £90 for those in social rented homes. It’s really important to check if you are eligible for Pension Credit because if you are, you are often eligible for other benefits too. These can include free NHS dental treatment and sight tests, help with the cost of glasses and contact lenses, help with travel costs to hospital, full Housing Benefit if you rent, reduced Council Tax, Cold Weather Payments and a Warm Home discount. Obviously this can make a huge difference to quality of life. There are two types of Pension Credit: Guarantee Credit and Savings Credit.

CAT SMITH MP Guarantee Credit tops up a claimant’s weekly income to £167.25 for a single person and £255.25 for a couple (married, in a civil partnership or co-habiting). Savings Credit can give claimants up to £13.73 a week for a single person or up to £15.35 a week for a couple (married, in a civil partnership or co-habiting). The exact amount depends on income and savings. To make a claim for Pension Credit, call the claim line on 0800 991 234. You’ll need your National Insurance number, information about your income, including your pensions, details of your savings and investments and your bank account details. If you can’t claim by phone, ask a relative or a voluntary organisation such as the local Citizens Advice (0344 245 1294) to request a paper application form on your behalf. BEN WALLACE MP I don’t want to talk too soon but, the Lancashire weather seems to be picking up nicely. I am pleased to say I have been taking advantage of it whenever possible and traveling around the beautiful constituency of Wyre and Preston North. Of course affairs in Westminster are dominating the press and by the time this article goes out we will know the name of our new Prime Minister. Interesting times! As your local Member of Parliament it is extremely important that I know what is going on and what the challenges are in the constituency. This is achieved in many ways, firstly via my mail bag where often residents inform me of specific problems they encounter but, there is no substitute for
getting out and about meeting people. That is why I visit many organisations including the emergency services, the NHS, places of learning, charities, businesses and so on. Remember if you would like me to visit your organisation please contact my Office. My constituency days are varied and often busy. Recently I have hosted constituency surgeries, visited the Police, Lancashire County Council, a local nursery and other businesses. One business I visited was EnviroSystems UK Ltd, a family business based in Barton, Preston which produces a unique range of eco-friendly products for livestock farmers both in the UK and overseas. Renewable heat is utilised at its new drying facility, Foggs Farm, in Claughton to produce ‘EnviroBed’ the company’s livestock bedding made

Driving around the local area, there continues to be a great deal of work going on with regards to repairing local roads. I do keep in touch with local County Councillors about this issue and I am hearing that work is being carried out, to not only fix faults but to ensure that larger areas are patched and the work lasts. This is a great improvement on small pothole patching, which in my view was not cost effective. I am sure you are aware of the upcoming work on the Norcross
roundabout by the Highways Agency. If you would like more detail please visit: www. highwaysengland.co.uk/projects/a585norcross-roundabout I would like to wish Churchtown Flood Action Group all the best for a successful event this month when they celebrate the new flood defence which has been built as a result of the group’s hard work. The clay and concrete defence was made possible by funding from the Community Foundation, United Utilities and the Environment Agency and the event will be attended by The Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Lord Charles Shuttleworth KG KCVO. Churchtown FLAG like other local flood groups have worked extremely hard to help highlight the risk of flooding and to look at ways of improving the situation. Wyre

GARSTANG WINE CIRCLE
LOVE GARSTANG
The Circle was delighted to welcome back Simon Jackson from David Byrne Wine Merchants at Clitheroe for his second visit at the May tasting. People who know the shop will be aware of the high and varied stock of wine that is available from Byrne’s, so a visit from a representative was always bound to be a treat, as indeed it was.
Loyalty Card Winner
Simon’s theme for the evening was ‘Wines from Islands’. Accordingly he brought four whites, two from Sicily and one each from Mallorca and Corsica. There were three reds from Tasmania, Sardinia and Mallorca. Four of these islands are of course in the Mediterranean Sea, and Tasmania is surrounded by the Bass Strait which separates it from Australia, the Indian Ocean to the West, and the Tasman Sea to the East. At the June tasting Mick Gould brought along a selection of Italian wines from his shop at Huntleys, Samlesbury. Mick has a particular knack of purchasing ‘bin ends’ of good quality wines at reasonable prices and several of the wines he presented fell into this category. This meant that members were able to taste some rather better quality than usual wines. The fact that there were nine wines to taste (and good sized measures) meant that a good time was had by all! Sat 13th July saw 35 members of the Circle enjoy an Italian themed evening. Bruno Rafala from Huntleys Wine Shop masterminded the event bringing a selection of Italian wines (a fizz, two whites and four reds) and arranging for Dantes of Garstang to provide a delicious meal. It was a highly convivial evening, with those who attended returning home replete. The September meeting will be held at the Arts Centre on Mon 16th Sept. The brief formalities of the AGM will be followed by a ‘Committee’s Choice’ selection of wine, the first meeting of the 2019-20 season. Details from Alan Jefferson (01995) 601842.

Let’s start by sending a big Thank you to Garstang and District for helping us raise nearly £160 at our Bric-a-Brac stall in June. This is a marvellous start towards our aim of purchasing a Tuk Tuk for Think Pink for Sri Lanka - in fact it’s about 5% of the purchase price - well done everyone! August is a month that contains many Heroes and Villains and it was on August 1st 1944 that Anne Frank penned her last entry into her diary ‘I keep on trying to find a way of becoming what I would like to be, and what I could be if....there weren’t any other people living in the world’. As Soroptimists, we like people and we’re certainly glad that there are plenty of them living in the world but, how much nicer and fairer could the world be if everyone found a way to be what they could be - educated, empowered and enabled? GARSTANG AND DISTRICT LIONS Donations A small group of students are completing a number of events in aid of the Marie Curie charity and it was agreed to sponsor them for £100 as our encouragement with their endeavours. A donation of £250 was agreed to go to Achieve, Change and Engagement (A.C.E) who assisted us at the recent Great Eccleston Show and had given a previous presentation to the club about their work with disaffected and disengaged young people. We are still collecting new cosmetics, new toiletry items, new toys or new clothing items for babies, small children or ladies for Fylde Women’s Aid. If you can help then please bring items to the Resources Centre (the old Liberal Club) on Bridge Street.
Events Lions Club members enjoyed an excellent bowls evening in the summer sunshine at the Patton Arms on Fri 28th June with a hot pot supper to follow. The individual winners were David Carlyle and Jen Hodgson. The car parking duties at the Great Eccleston Show proved to be very busy over the two fine days but our members coped well as always with valued assistance from wives/ partners, the North West Children’s Society and representatives from A.C.E. Our next car parking events coming up are the Garstang Show on Sat 3rd Aug and the Lancashire Country and Game Fair on Sat 7th and Sun 8th Sept If you want to join our lively club then further information can be found on our website www.garstanglions.co.uk or just come along to one of our meetings on the third Tuesday of the month in the Royal Oak starting at 8:00 pm. CARDIAC RISK IN THE YOUNG (CRY) Matthew Hesmondhalgh Memorial Fund Just after the last issue of Focus went to print Barry and I were kindly invited to St Michael’s Village Hall to be presented with a very generous donation of £1,100 from Garstang Patchwork Quilters, raised at their wonderful and very colourful exhibition. This amazing amount will fund the screening of 22 young hearts – one for each year of Matthew’s life what a lovely tribute. Thank you. July found us at the fantastic 2nd Garstang Scarecrow Festival. What a fabulous community event it was and blessed by near perfect weather too. Thank you to all who supported our stand, helping to raise £372.75. We hope you all enjoyed taking part in the Dalmatian activities - the Cruella DeVil display looked great with all your puppies. We had a lovely surprise too thanks to the gent who, after reading about our scarecrow in the last Focus, added to the fun by visiting the stand dressed as a Dalmatian – great photo opportunities for all! A busy month followed with the Catterall history walks, Azcend’s Summer Party, a car wash, clothing collection, cake bakes and more. As this issue is being delivered we will be at ‘Owd Nells 12th Cider Festival, Bilsborrow, on Fri 26th, Sat 27th & Sun 28th July from noon each day. All the very best to Alison from Conway Cards, Garstang as she sets off for her Machu Picchu Trek in August. I’m sure she’d appreciate a word of encouragement or a few pennies in her pot if you’re able to pop in and see her. Whilst Alison heads to Peru we’ll be joining forces with St Helen’s Church at Churchtown’s Beer & Cider Festival from 5:00pm on Fri 16th Aug with a ‘Mats for Matt’ game and a raffle. On Sat 17th Aug the festival continues from 2:00pm with our stand hosting a ‘Cake
and Craft stall (donations of cakes and crafts would be very welcome), raffle and our very popular ‘Pick a Daisy’ game with plant and bloom prizes. With live music, entertainment, local brews and more this first time event looks set to be a great addition to the local calendar. More information is available from St Helen’s Shop & café or their Facebook page. INNER WHEEL We have recently installed our new President Maureen Garstang for the year 2019 - 2020. In this our 50th year, we have lots of good things planned. Dinner Meetings, once a month will feature some very interesting speakers, ranging from ‘Who shot Jill Dando?’ to ‘The Life of a Bluebell Girl’.
Ripon and will include high tea at Mainsgill.
In our Golden Year we will be fundraising for PAPYRUS, a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide in young people.
Tea and biscuits were served by our committee members, followed by the raffle, for which gifts were donated by the members.
Our first fundraising event is ‘An Evening of Floral Art, Fun and Food’ on Thurs 26th Sept at Wyrebank. Tickets are £14 which includes the added bonus of the chance to win one of the floral arrangements. Our very popular Quiz and Hotpot Evening is as usual in February. Keep an eye out for the sale of tickets. The Club support a variety of other good causes and charities, including the town’s very own Garstang in Bloom. We are very mindful of period poverty within our district and to that end, we collect sanitary products for girls who would otherwise have their education disrupted. We campaign for Government and Local Authorities to be more proactive in ending this injustice. So you will see our Golden Year promises to be busy and fun filled. RSPCA Special Appeals Patrick Well what can we say about Patrick? He’s a cat with a big character who has made an impression on the staff. He was originally picked up as a stray and we’ve found him to be very inquisitive. He loves to investigate or play with whatever catches his eye so he needs a home where he has plenty to do. He comes across as quite a confident cat who has bundles of energy but he can still be a little worried in new surroundings so plenty of reassurance is needed. Around familiar people he can be extremely affectionate but it really must be on his terms. As he is a semi-long haired cat, he will require regular grooming which he seems to enjoy. On arrival he was suffering from severe cat flu but after treatment he has recovered. However, Patrick may now be a cat flu carrier

have no information about him.
He’ll make someone a loyal companion to someone who is experienced with cats.
It’s clear that he is socialised with other cats but has had very little interaction with people so he is very scared.
Zippy Zippy is a cat who arrived at the Centre in a poorly condition but with the correct diet he is gaining weight day by day. He will need a supportive and patient owner who will help him settle at home in his own time by giving him plenty of reassurance. He is a friendly boy who loves attention. He is very active but loves to relax in the sun! He enjoys his food and will climb on your knee and have cuddles. He will want to go outside to explore his surroundings once he is settled therefore living away from a busy main road is vital. Lenny Lenny is a cat who was abandoned b so we
We have seen some improvements in his behaviour as he is enjoying his indoor comforts of a warm bed, sunbathing in the sun and a belly full of food but Lenny really needs to live a life outdoors where he can come and go as he pleases. He is still quite skittish and panics when people go near him so his ideal home would be somewhere rural as sadly Lenny is unsuitable to be rehomed in a normal domestic setting. We are looking for a farm, stables or small holding where he can live happily. He’s been blood tested, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and had an initial flea and worm treatment.
