Interresser og Hobbyer Jeg er en aktiv og social person der nyder at dyrke sport. Jeg har spillet holdsport som håndbold og basketball siden en alder af 5 år og jeg nyder aktiviteten og det at blive udfordret på mange felter. Hvad angår mine interresser og hobbier har jeg en bred platform at nyde. Alt fra et hyggeligt skakspil til det lidt mere ekstreme som at bygge motorcykler, og så er jeg generelt et konkurrance person. Generelt nyder jeg at bliver udfordret og motiveret.

Jeg er god til at arbejde med nye teknikker og digitale værktøjer og programmer i min design process. Med min tidligere erfaring med IT har jeg fået en stor viden og interresse i at bruge computeren som et værktøj. Jeg er meget lærenem på nye programmer og har rigtig god erfaring på både MAC og PC platforme.

Som en del af min uddannelse og hobbyer nyder jeg at bruge mine hænder til at udføre opgaver, om det er skitsering eller modelarbejde. Jeg har opført flere af mine projekter selv eller i samarbejde i forbindelse med mit tidligere firma “Reitn Design” og arbejde med projekter på events som Roskilde Festival.

Helgi Hreinn Hjalmarsson Jeg er født 1986 i Reykjavik, Island og opvokset i en nærliggende by Hafnarfjordur. I en alder af 10 år flytter jeg til Danmark og boede her i 5 år. Efter at have taget min student-eksame og sabbat-år i Island starter jeg på Arkitektskolen Aarhus i 2009 hvor jeg færdiggør mit studie foråret 2015 fra Studio Architecture & Resources med fokus på bæredygtighed. I en ung alder nød jeg at observere og at være kreativ. Om det var at tegne, male, eller bygge.fra start interresserede jeg mig i hvordan ting samles og fungerer fra bund. Siden dette har jeg fokuseret på hvordan arkitektur og design

bygges op selve håndværket. Med dette som udgangspunkt startede jeg mit eget firma, “Reitn design” hvor jeg kunne lære konkret at arbejde med kunder og realisere og bygge mit design. Under min uddanelse på Arkitektskolen Aarhus brugte jeg tid på at lære nye værktøjer og nød at undersøge og lære processer. Under mit Kandidat forløb fandt jeg min interresse i et felt mellem bæredygtighed og den sociale adfærd hos mennesket. Dette fokus har ekspanderet i alt fra konseptuelle processer og en byøkologisk fremtid til at lære mere om sirkulære økonomiske modeller.

Byrums aktivitet

Working with the context, the main challenge was to create an open and inviting form. Here the elements of interactions of user and visitor, and the question of public and private zones is brought into play. Opposite shows the construction of the wood-element building and the light facade. The different factors of public and private and the vertical stacking are represented in the three main construction elements; the surface, for the horizontal motion, the pillar -for the vertical staking and the box for the private home.

North of the site one finds a mixed housing area with both social housing area and a single family housing neighborhood

The site islocated in a industrial area with variuos sizes of industry. All from big scale manufactureing to small plummer buissnesses.

South of the site one finds the agriculture and the outer city border.

The site is located in a mixed environment where agriculture meets industry and industry meets a mixed housing area.

In the dissembled outskirts of Aarhus, Denmark you find the town called Viby J. A former office and industry is becoming a “non-place” and more and more frames are getting empty without function or life. In collaboration with the office SUPERUSE ROTTERDAM, different strategies of developing possible functions for this structure was made. In the phase of analysis one got introduced to the methods of SUPERUSE with tools like an MFA, Material Flow Analysis, and the platform of HarvestMap, an online solution for registrering waste materials. With these tools, the principles of transforming the frames and creating a catalogue for future “users”. A function of a open-source cultural center for the multi ethnical inhabitants of the area. The element of time and testing were the main focus points of this semester.

Bachelor project - Aarhus School of architecture - spring 2012 Collaboration with Zuhal Kochan

On the riverbanks of Spree in Berlin the surroundings are ever changing. On the North side of the river, the site is dissembled by the S-Bahn that rises 6 meters into the air. Analysing the area of the riverbank as well as trying to adapt to the surroundings, the “wall” of the S-bahn was penetrated and used for common public spaces. By opening the site up, one got a informal connection between those two totally separated sites and given the chance to merge. The southern side of the S-bahn was used for cultural and public functions. On the other hand, the North-West side of the S-Bahn private housing rises up in the air for more light and visional connections.

The mobile or the floating model is a project where one finds the balance between forms and material. The main question is how to maintain the physical balance of the model while the aesthetics is in main focus. Ringvirkninger RingVårt fokus i dette prosjektet er å skape et unikt og erverdig museumsbygg gjennom en bevaringsverdig tankegang. Vi vil etablere et aktivt og mangfoldig kulturtorg som kobler sammen nye- og eksisterende kulturfasiliteter, havnefronten og et nytt boligområde i sør. I tillegg vil gjennom strategisk områdeutvikling og addering av ulike kulturelle elmenter styrke kulturaksen mellom kvadraturen og Odderøya.

I vårt prosjekt gir vi silobygget muligheten til å beholde silosjaktene slik de står i dag og legger til ett nytt, rent volum som har en fleksibel planløsning egnet til varierte utstillinger og større installasjoner. Det nye volumet er plassert ovenpå den eksistende silokonstruksjonen og overgangen mellom nytt og gammelt markeres ved å skape en glippe mellom de to volumene.

ROSKILDE FESTIVAL Aarhus School of Architecture, freelance crafts for SuperMegaMaxx studio. Spring 2010, summer 2011, summer 2012

The first project for Roskilde festival was a co-work between students of Aarhus School of Architecture and the festival. Was the project made as a internal competition between classmates and later narrowed into 3 finalized project. After the first year Roskilde contacted a group of students for more installations and for the next 3 years we worked for the festival with other work.

All work made for competition work for Cebra Architects as a intern in the fall 2013. Worked on diagrams, Rhino 3D + Vray rendering machine and post production in Photoshop.

VIZUAL WORK Freelance vizual and 3D work for design studio Mockup. Spring 2014

The freelance vizual work of Mockup Studio chair for Milan Expo 2014. The 3D model itself is drawed digital after a physical mockup model. Later rendered and used as a profile for Milan Expo 2014 for student work. The process was intense and all work produced within 12 hours.

MODELWORK Aarhus School of Architecture, freelance & intern

Various modelwork from Aarhus school of Architecture and as an intern. I enjoy working with my hands and combining craftmanship with digital 3D and machineary. All models are made as digital models and then crafted, 3d printed, lazer & papercut and more.

I started Reitn Design in beginning of the year of 2013 with the intentions of trying to get small scale private projects and learning the process of registrating a private firm. Since then the projects have got many more and in the spring of 2014 i worked full time, creating a collaborative office space called Mirakel-Fabrikken. The space includes a motorcycle-garage and club space.

MIRAKELFABRIKKEN Reitn Design, Fall 2013 Still under construction

Mirakelfabrikken is a creative office collective combined with our passion for motorbikes. We started out as 4 architect students with a vision and some second hand windows who needed a garage for our bikes and dreamt of a place to get away and concentrate in new surroundings. Today Mirakkelfabrikken is the home for the new-founded architect and design studio SPANT, run by the two collegues. Also the motoshop has grown to a co-own garage with over 10 users and even more bikes.

CREUNA, Ă&#x2026;RHUS Reitn Design August 2014

A creative common space where the user can get away from their office desk and enjoy their space. The elements are created with the thought of as little material loss as possible on a standard OSB wood plate.

SIGFREDS KAFFEBAR Reitn Design November 2014

The transformation of Sigfreds Kaffebar was done over a 6 days period. The design and the craft was done in a strick collabartion with the owner of Sigfreds Kaffebar and the project included all parts of the design process from early sketch consulting to the finalizing craftmanship. All the design was done in a tight small scale budget and with a intense timeframe.

SIGFREDS KAFFEBAR - GL. SKAGEN Reitn Design February 2014 - June 2014

Sigfreds Kaffebar in the North of Denmark called Gammel Skagen was a low budget transformation for a new speciality coffe bar. The concept of this bar was to create a combined bar for high level cocktails and speciality coffee. The main focus for this bar is creating a well organized work space with light and aesthetic looks with only few main materials.
