When designing each element of the DIRECT ACTION® system, every detail is rigorously thought through, each buckle type is carefully chosen, each puller is the proper size; there are no compromises and no random choices. When it comes to modern tactical equipment, those not going forward are actually going backwards, so at DIRECT ACTION® we are focused on the constant evolution of our products. Thanks to the feedback from users around the world, we have been able to create a new, improved version of one of our top products, the SPITFIRE® Plate Carrier. The MK II version may look simpler, but in fact it is much more scalable and mission configurable. We’ve decided to strip the carrier of unnecessary PALS slots under the flap and on the back as well as enlarging the loop panel on the front for large LE patches, and we’ve also made it lighter than the standard version. Thanks to numerous new flaps, back panels and cummerbunds you are able to modify and personalise the carrier the way you actually need it.

SPITFIRE ® MK I & MKII

The differences between plate carriers DIRECT ACTION® is all about improving our products, so that they can become better and better. This is why, we've decided to create a new version of one of our core products - the SPITFIRE® plate carrier. But even though the new, MK II model is already available, we've also decided not to get rid of the basic one, so that everyone would be able to choose the carrier most suitable for them. The most important thing with the MK II is that this time, you build a carrier basically from the scratch, making it almost fully personalized. But the bigger base modularity of the SPITFIRE® MK II is not the only difference comparing to the "classic" one. Take a moment to check them all on the next page.

If you need scalable platform there is no better choice than our SPITFIRE® MK II. And this was achieved with multiple types of cummerbunds, flaps and back panels. One of them is the RAPIC ACCESS CUMMERBUND. Based on the construction of our standard modular cummerbund, it features innovative ROC buckles. The cummerbund is attached to the front just like the standard one, via hook&loop. But to open or close it, you no longer need to open the front flap, but you just pull one of the cord pullers to open the buckle, or you just slide the buckle down to close it. The biggest issue when you carry a plate carrier and a belt is the lack of possibility to mount anything on front. And as we all know, there is never too much carrying space. Therefore, while making the SPITFIRE® MK II we’ve decided to make this little pouch. It mounts directly onto the front loop panel of the plate carrier and dangles underneath. The pouch can fit all you need – some small essentials, a cellphone, spare ear plugs, pistol mags or even an insert from one our MED pouches. The front has a large loop panel for patches, as well as a piece of laser cut modular system. One of these features is the modular system on the back. But what if you need the modularity of the back panel? The answer to this need would be our new SPITFIRE® MK II MOLLE PANEL. Made of proprietary laminate, this flat back panel is covered with a laser cut modular system. It is attached to the plate carrier via the zipper system. The panel features an internal pocket that can accommodate a hydration bladder or other flat objects. Based on the SPITFIRE® ASSAULT PANEL it features not one, but two large utility pouches. Both pockets are closed with heavy duty YKK® zippers that won’t fail at the worst possible moment. Both pockets are large enough to fit a light jacket, NODs, additional ammo, spare batteries etc. Additionally, the panel has a large, flat compartment that can fit a hydration bladder. Assault panel for the SPITFIRE® plate carrier is the first of the planned series of back panels meant for the plate carrier. The design allows rapid reconfiguration by attaching to pre-arranged rear panel zippers of either the SPITFIRE® plate carrier or the HALIFAX® backpack. The assault panel pocket layout was made to fit in the CQB role. Top portion has three Velcro®–closed pouches to contain various types of flash-bangs or spare magazines. Large, zipperclosed universal cargo pouch is mounted beneath them. Its lined with soft, velour material so it can be used for carrying scratch sensitive objects, like eyepro or NV goggles. Underneath the whole back of the panel there is a flat pocket for a hydration bladder or breaching tools secured with Velcro®. Specs:

The SPITFIRE® breacher panel is the second piece in the series of back panels designated for our top of the line, fully–customizable plate carrier. The design allows rapid reconfiguration for any mission by attaching a pre-fabricated panel to the rear of the SPITFIRE® plate carrier or onto the HALIFAX® backpack. The breacher panel pouch layout is the result of our experience and end-user feedback of the assault panel. The top portion has four buckle-closed pouches for flashbangs (or any standard NFDD’s) and/or smoke grenades, with MOLLE/PALS columns on its sides. A large, zippered pocket is mounted at the bottom part of the panel. It can not only be fully configured to the mission with additional flaps, wings or back panels, but it can also be easily transformed from a plate carrier to a full size vest combining not only hard, but also soft ballistic inserts. We have designed our own soft ballistic kit for our SPITFIRE® that not only works best with its design, but also give you full coverage. The whole system includes not only front, back and side panels, but also collar and arm protection, two sizes of front belly/groin protection and even an additional lumbar panel. It also features an additional panel for our MOSQUITO® belt sleeve. More importantly we are able to make soft panel covers for any type of soft ballistic protection and make it compatible with the SPITFIRE®, including panels as large as US BALCS soft ballistic inserts.
