Our mission is to advance economic stability by creating quality jobs for the people who need them most.
Globally, we do this through curating luxe goods, made with fair trade practices, from artisans and social enterprises around the world. The expansion into new and larger channels of distribution provides these artisans with critical social services, and a pathway to sustainable livelihoods.
Locally, through our LiftWorksTM Program, we provide our associates with paid jobs with immersive training, career development, and sector-based skills training in production, fulfillment, and digital fabrication in laser printing.
All our products are high quality, meticulously designed and hand crafted by people affected by poverty, gun violence and barriers to employment.

SMATERIA
Smateria is an awarding winning women owned and operated social enterprise founded in 2006. “Smateria” means to transform a material and give it new life. All the Italian designed items are 100% ethically handcrafted in Cambodia. All products are sustainably made using fair trade practices, and provide artisans with free health- and day- care, and a 13-month annual salary.

AWARD WINNING IKI BY SMATERIA: MADE FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS
Smateria's IKI outer fabric is made from 100% recycled industrial packaging and the inner fabric is 100% recycled plastic bottles. The production process uses 85% less carbon than comparable cotton, leather and vegan products. IKI is water resistant, lightweight, and vegan. Smateria's IKI line won the SME Best Innovation Champion award at the 2023 CSR AWARDS in Cambodia, hosted by EuroCham and the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC). Artisans are provided with free healthcare, daycare, and a 13-month annual salary.
