Germany : Hamburg, the European Green Capital MATTES RenĂŠ/hemis.fr

Hamburg, the fair northern jewel surrounded by water and consecrated Green Capital in 2011, is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Even the inhabitants, the Hanseats who are usually not very outgoing, cannot hide their pride in « their » city. The visitor soon succumbs to its charming, relaxed way of life and maritime atmosphere. There is always something new to discover, to experience and to admire, either on the banks of the Elbe or the Alster, in the port, in the fish-market or the Reeperbahn or walking amongst the warehouses.
