If it shares with Andalousia the southerner end of Europe, Algarve has nothing to envy to her elegant Spanish neighbour. On its Western part, it uncovers, between Faro and the Rio Guadiana, a string of islands, seaside harbours and villages: the Sotavento is home of two natural reserves, the Ria Formosa and the Sapal de Castro Marim. From interland near Loulé stretch orchards along cork oaks. This landscape of hills also hides the Sao Lourenco Church, wonder of Portugal, entirely covered with azulejos.
