The nonprofit ministr y works in the local community to repair homes of those who can’t afford to have needed repairs done themselves. The real challenge came from his pastor, who asked, “Have you thought about a local ministr y?” The idea struck home. “When he said that, I knew God was calling me to look at ministering here locally. With all of the problems that we have in this area with poverty, joblessness and broken families, clearly there was work that needed doing here,” Wilson said. As the catalyst for this incredible effort, Wilson has been able to rally dozens of churches, civicminded individuals and conscientious business owners to become part of this local ministry whether through donated materials, financial support or volunteer time. While receiving the award, Wilson was joined by family, friends and members of Rebuilding Hope Inc.’s Board of Directors and volunteers. SEE WILSON/PAGE 7
