April luncheon honors administrative professionals

The Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Administrative Professionals Luncheon on April 25 at Henderson Country Club. The speaker for the event was Mike Collins, president of The Perfect Workday Company, an information company based in the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina. His humorous and energetic presentation, entitled “I Didn’t Sign On For This! Dealing With Constant Change in the Workplace,” addressed why people resist change, how to lower that resistance and how to reduce the stress associated with change. Collins said, “Change isn’t going to slow down; if anything, it’s going to speed up. Accepting and addressing change isn’t complicated; it’s just hard!” The 150 plus in attendance listened attentively as they enjoyed a meal of traditional shrimp salad, country club chicken salad and tri-color pasta salads all surrounding a gathering of fresh mixed greens and an array of confetti vegetables drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Also included with the meal was Strawberry Cloud Cake, iced tea and coffee. One of the most popular Chamber events, the luncheon is sponsored each year by the Chamber of Commerce of Warren County, the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Franklin County Chamber, the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce and the Vance-Granville Community College Small Business Center.

May Member Spotlights (32nd Edition)

‘Member Spotlights’ offer opportunity to spread the word The Henderson-Vance County Chamber’s “Member Spotlights” continues to be one of the most popular free Chamber benefits. This special section of the Business Outlook Tabloid and Chamber web-site allows member businesses to list their upcoming public sales, special events, special products and/ or ser vices for free. A link on the Chamber homepage takes all viewers to this special page. Criteria set for each listing is 50 words or less typed in a Word or text document using 10 pt Verdana. The name of the company is listed first and then the complete description of what is being spotlighted. Entries are listed monthly. Any entr y to be listed in “Member Spotlights” will have a deadline of the 25th of the month preceeding when the entr y should appear. Entries are listed alphabetically on the page with the company name in bold and the description in normal type. All are uniform in appearance. Chamber Members who wish to have an entr y listed should send their information as seen in the May Spotlights below to communications@ hendersonvance.org by the 25th of the month preceding the listing or call the Chamber
