THE CHAMBER SUPPORTS COMMUNITY UNITY
What is the role of a Chamber of Commerce? The variety and scope of Chamber activities are unlimited. The Chamber promotes the area’s business economy and encourages business and industrial investment to broaden the tax base and provide employment. To business prospects and newcomers, the Chamber represents the community’s pride and self-image.
Chambers of commerce are also involved in non-commercial areas such as education, human relations, environmental, cultural, and governmental concerns. These challenges have caused Chambers of Commerce to become a viable force in seeking solutions to today’s social problems.
This year we have focused on our collaborative partnerships with the Henry County Government, Henry County Schools, and the Henry County Development Authority to provide information, encouragement, and guidance for our entire community during this time of change. We are bringing dialogues to the community to address the impact of bias, systemic failings, and diversity. We want to have open conversations to improve the businesses in the county and the quality of life for all citizens in Henry County.
Even when COVID-19 made us change our timeline on many programs, our mission for the year did not change. We want you to know that you belong to an organization that wants to collaborate with our businesses and our community. Why, because we are energized by a shared drive and passion. We want to engage with one another, sharing a vision of the future and sharing the collective influence to make the vision happen. As a chamber and community leader, we want to lead by impacting our county and transforming our future. If we belong, engage, and lead, we will prosper, not only in growing our individual businesses but also by enriching our community.
