Keisha Pattillo holds the Bible for her husband Darius Pattillo as he is sworn in as Henry County’s new District Attorney by DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Tangela M. Barrie. The ceremony took place at the Merle Manders Conference Center in Stockbridge on January 12, 2017.
About 300 residents, elected officials and friends watched Thursday evening as Darius Pattillo was sworn in as Henry County’s new District Attorney. “It was such an honor to have so many friends, mentors and leaders there to support me,” said Pattillo. “I know that I could not be here today without so many of these people believing in me and working alongside me.” DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Tangela M. Barrie, a longtime friend and former colleague, administered the oath to Pattillo at the Merle Manders Conference Center in Stockbridge. Pattillo’s wife stood beside him, while family, friends, fellow lawyers and elected officials from throughout the region applauded. Prior to the oath, J. Comer Yates, executive director of the Atlanta Speech School, and S. Wade Malone, a partner at Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough, talked about first meeting Pattillo as an intern and graduate of Atlanta’s Therrell High School. They talked about how Pattillo, a former Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County, has never forgotten his roots and continues his commitment to mentoring youth. Continued on page 2
