The Henry County Department of Transportation recently erected a special sign in recognition of McDonough resident Kendall Carden, who wears the crown and sash of Teen Miss Georgia Forestry Queen 2015, and whose reign ends this summer. The sign is placed on East Lake Parkway near Union Grove High School, where Kendall is a student in 11th grade. She said that after she graduates next year, she hopes to attend Emory University and study to become a nurse practitioner. Henry County District III Commissioner Gary Barham was in attendance for the sign dedication, along with county manager Lyndon Bonner and Interim DOT Director Wade Stroud. “We congratulate you for being crowned Teen Miss Georgia Forestry 2015 and Henry County is proud to install this sign in recognition of your great accomplishment,” said Barham. “On behalf of the Chairman and the Board of Commissioners, I would like to invite you to one of our meetings to be recognized for your hard work.”
