Henry County Fire Chief Brenda Nishiyama “Nish” Willis took her oath of office earlier this week during a welcome ceremony kicking off the new chief’s first day of service to Henry County. Willis was administered an oath by County Manager Lyndon Bonner, and was surrounded by her family members and best friend during a ceremony that took place on July 11, 2016. Deputy Chief Brad Johnson offered words of welcome and encouragement to Willis, and Bonner said the theme of the day was “family first.” “The Henry County Fire Department is made great by the family relationships it has fostered in service to others,” he said. After taking her oath, Willis’ father, Ralph Nishiyama, pinned the HCFD patch on her uniform, and her husband Bryan and son Benjamin Clarke pinned the bugles on her jacket.
