SB 617 – Requires Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board, before disciplining person, to establish subcommittee for purpose of advising board on whether objective basis exists to believe that alleged violation of provisions governing real estate appraisers has occurred

Status: Signed by Governor June 26, 2013. Effective Jan. 1, 2014. HB 3013 – Excludes real estate appraisals submitted to housing authority or obtained by Housing and Community Services Department from public records disclosure exemption. Summary: Oregon’s public records law generally requires disclosure of documents and information held by public entities except where a specific exemption protects that information from disclosure. Existing statute exempts project appraisals and other specified documents submitted by applicants for and recipients of loans, grants and tax credits from disclosure by a housing authority or urban renewal agency. House Bill 3013 limits the disclosure exemption for project appraisals by excluding appraisals obtained in the course of real estate transactions, but only after the transactions have closed and are concluded. Open House-Does It Work And Is It Worth The Trouble?

The sale of your house is not an action that should be taken lightly. You will never be too prepared nor too informed if you want your asking price. You should start by deciding on such a price. Using municipal tax
