ANNOUNCEMENTS 2015 FOOD PRESERVATION CERTIFICATION COURSE In anticipation of a bountiful garden season, Klamath Basin Research & Extension Center is offering a 40-hour certification course in home food preservation to begin May 14th with an orientation from 1 pm to 3 pm. Participants receive in-depth training in food safety, freezing, canning, dehydrating, pickling, etc. Classes are taught by OSU faculty & trained volunteers & include food labs & other hands-on activities that allow participants to apply what they have learned. The training is held from 9 am to 3 pm May 16th, 19th 23rd, 26th, June 2 nd, 9th, 13th & 17th. The cost is $100 which includes an extensive reference manual. Registration is limited, applications must be completed by May 8th. No previous food preservation experience is needed, however, applicants must commit to attend training dates & commit to volunteer following the training. Classes are held at 6923 Washburn Way.
