Mining truck kills 26-yr-old lad at Sirsaim

According to Mapusa Police, the mishap occurred when Radesh Challapan was talking on his mobile phone, standing by his motorcycle (GA-03-J-1355) along the roadside at Sirsaim. The truck (GA-03-T-6499), which was proceeding towards the main road from the side road, knocked down Radesh, who was crushed to death under the wheels of the truck. His motorcycle was also crushed completely in the mishap. Mapusa Police rushed to the site and shifted the body to Asilo Hospital in Mapusa, where Radesh was declared dead on admission. Mapusa Police have arrested truck driver Mohammed Rehman (26), a native of Manipur but residing at Sirsaim, under Sections 279 and 304 of IPC towards rash and negligent driving. Police Sub Inspector Dhawaskar is investigating the case.
