fathers of Goa are waiting for three outcomes which will decide the future of their children. One deadline set by the former Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco of April 27 for the Government to agree to include English as Medium of Instruction and giving it grants, Churchill Alemao’s move along the same lines and the finally the Government’s final decision on the matter.
The Herald, asks every father and mother that the time for waiting for politicians to do what you have to do for your children is over. Your decency and goodness is being taken advantage of. This is an issue which questions the basic fundamentals that each one of you have. The fundamentals of choice. And when that is questioned, your collective strength is the real force which will add strength to the Forum for the Rights of Children’s Education.
As a newspaper, being objective is in our blood. But when the side of the right and the side of the truth is clear, then the only objective is to stand by the truth. Clearly, unequivocally and permanently, your newspaper supports and stands by all parents and right thinking Goans, who demand a choice and the choice clearly is to include English as medium of instruction, without affecting any other language.
