Comment (optional) The dining isn't very17.8% good, the food is not good. The entire administration is extremely unorganized. All my attempts to understand what I'm 40.8%

supposed to do at this school have been met with a rude attitude and often confusion from faculty. I feel that this university is headed in a good direction and slowly becoming more progressive. The residence halls are not up to par and the cafeteria needs longer hours and more variety. Admin. department is unorganized and not helpful. staff are extremely rude. Always give you the run around It's a bit tough to gauge. My experience in the College of Pharmacy has been ok. The thing that drags the experience down a bit is the campus itself. It is a bit outdated. I don't expect a completely brand new campus, but it would feel like a better environment if some buildings were updated. There isn't any real area where the students can sit outside in between classes (speaking around the area of the library,College of pharmacy building, and NCF). For example, Loyola's campus. I know many students that leave campus and go to Loyola just to study due to a variety of reasons(their campus, the library, access to different choices of food, safety at night etc.). I really feel like Xavier has the potential to be something great especially with the successful College of Pharmacy and incoming Psych. D. There are some positives of my experience, but there are also many negatives that ultimately leads me to conclude that I have had a neutral experience thus far. Xavier has the potential, but it is up to the staff and administrators to unlock that potential. I am enjoying it so far. I just wish that housing conditions were a bit better and that some people should just leave the school. I enjoy on-campus events for the most part. My freshman class makes it fun because it can be dull sometimes. I feel like the students pay way too much money for the school to not only treat the students fairly but to not even supply many common necessities the students need during the academic school year that are covered and are provided to students of other neighboring colleges such as Tulane or Loyola. I do not this like it here at XU, but I feel like it lacks the full HBCU experience. The living quarters on Xavier's campus are not what they should be. Sodexo is doing better, however, still has a long way to go. Finally campus police is a poor excuse of holding up Xavier's motto to promote a more just and humane society. I love the curriculum and professors, but the office staff and administrative roles for different departments have been less than professional. (Ex. Financial aid counselors, admissions receptionists, student accounts representatives, etc.) Ms. Batiste (spelling) in the financial aid https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

office is however one of the few to be extremely respectful. She always seeks to help. The food is hit or miss but most of the time nasty!!!!!!!!!!!! Xavier is a great school academically. However, it lacks in school spirit and fun activities to bring the student body together. Commuter students are offen left out due to many events at night time. Veryyyyyyy overrated and annoying I just wish we had a more diverse range of activities on campus. The university is an HBCU but we're being taught by white professors. The food is disgusting. The staff are rude and act like the students are the cause of their unhappiness. The school has funding for all of this construction a new overpass, and a welcome sign but can't fund students to stay. I am satisfied with Xavier but I recognize that there are plenty of areas the University could improve to make the student experience better and to make Xavier more marketable to prospective students. The food is horrible The times to get food are unaccomadating *spell check lol Xavier campus life sucks Refurbish the mikes and give better cleaning supplies, also UP THE CAFETERIA Xavier university does not focus on the small things that help the student population. One that includes the parking. As a 2nd year pharmacy student having attended 3 other universities, Xavier is by far the most expensive with the least "creature comforts" to offer. There's a lot that can be done. Feel free to contact me directly if there is any real changes to be made. 900045324. I have my likes and dislikes when thinking about Xavier. My likes, in regards to Xavier, are more geared towards off campus activities. The academic side of Xavier is great however the living conditions are poor. St. Mikes conditions and the cafeteria are the worst part of my experience. I feel Xavier should have invested in this instead of the art walk they have in progress and other things to make the nice campus look better. As a transfer student, I try not to complain too much since I decided to come to Xavier after being at another institution. A lot of things not said or done that were needed in order to succeed in life after Xavier. The people met during these years are the satisfying part. My professors are awesome but the administration of the university sucks. I wish campus provided more and better food options for commuting students. Jazzman's and subconnect are not great options taste and healthy wise. It would be great if there were more options like port-a-subs/subways, smoothie king or Starbucks/French press, or even NOLA

Freshbar (which has really good food). Everybody is so nice and welcoming! The professors are always available to help, and having free tutors is a hugeeeee plus! Xavier is stuck in its traditional ways and does not like change. They should be more student oriented and not treat students like children. The college of pharmacy should have their own graduation, their own library, and better equipment for the amount of money we pay. There is more parking for faculty than there is for students. Funds are allocated to unnecessary bridges and signs that take up space and cause traffic because construction takes 2 years. I have gotten 2 boots because there is no street parking. It is not fair that students pay $50 for parking to have to walk a mile to class and then teachers get mad when we're late to class. Some teachers get paid to read off slides and are rude even when trying to seek out help. THERE SHOULD BE FREE PRINTING ALL DAY. College of arts and sciences and college of pharmacy is really great. Financial aid, housing and resident life, and student services needs drastic improvement. This school is very stellar with regard to academics, but the social aspect is horrible. I think that in every important office, more young employees are needed. It's time for xavier to develope a better social scene and cater to the students wants as well as needs. I feel as though they pour too much money into watered down 'events' on campus. They aren't fun 90% of the time. I feel like that money could go toward bettering the dorm halls and classrooms. That money wasted on not so fun random events could be used to get better technology in the classrooms and and decent dorm furniture. The dorms are not well maintained, the food in the cafeteria could use improvements and has given some people food poisoning. Since the Greeks are back, I feel like the school is feeling more like an HBCU. However, we could add more Greek activities like other HBCU students have like (pagents, etc). Homecoming activities could've been better. Overall, I'm satisfied I feel like being at Xavier there's no balance between school and a social life. School takes up 90% of your time that you do not even get the chance to enjoy your college experience. I feel like compared to other colleges, Xavier doesn't not give the overall experience for the "college life". It's all work work work! For a particular major, that student should be taking classes only in that major. Bad staff. No one cleans around the school. I see staff on the phone all the time instead of cleaning! Not very inclusive to individuals with alternative lifestyles or other races/cultures I feel as though Xavier has provided me with a wonderful overall college experience. I wish there was more to do; there's almost no college experience with poor Greek life. Xavier is different from other schools, there's not really school spirit and there's no connection https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

between the students. The school is strictly about work, which is important. The problem is that there isn't anything memorable about the excitement that other school bring. The school is very dull. The food is horrible. It's completely unhealthy and often undercooked. I cannot fathom how this is expected to be consumed on a daily basis. As a student who pays for tuition, room & board, etc, i feel as though the customer service here is AWFUL AND it is very un acceptable. From the financial aid office to the cafeteria and even sub connection, I feel like I shouldn't receive eye and neck rolls from those who are supposed to be working for the students. It's really sad. I've been here since 2011 and I am currently a P2 in pharmacy school (even though that wasn't a classification option on this survey) and I am just now seeing positive changes on campus to make this school seem like more of an actual college. I am disappointed with the living situation in the freshman dorms. The bathrooms are not clean and are in dire need of repairs. The professors are not too hard on us and the classes are manageable. Other than that, my experiences are not all that good. The food in the cafeteria is usually gross and tastes awful, some of the buildings need extensive reservations, especially the music building, St. Mike's is always dirty, some of the bathrooms smell so bad I've refused to use them, only certain bathrooms have hot water in the morning. If it's even remotely cold outside, the heaters in Xavier South are on full blast. One of the water fountains in the fitness center is broken. Xavier is too high for us to have terrible food with nats that breed in the cafeteria and mold that is in every single one of the dorms. The education is worth it, and the support and love I get in the Humanities and DSBS are incomparable. However, attention is heavily and unnecessarily skewed towards the sciences. Res Life is deplorable, and customer service and administration at the university needs serious altering and improvements. The education is top, but the campus itself is lackluster. Not much to do without a car. Because of restrictions and remaining stagnat in old traditions this has crippled the HBCU experience. Educationally Xavier is profitable but socially the xavier community can better. it starts with the board and the president to listen to students and our needs and work with us, especially if retention rates are important to the University. I'm disappointed. I believed Xavier to be better. Even when I had a look at the dorms I didn't think it would be too bad. But bad is an understatement for this hellhole. The bathrooms are filthy 24/7 even after the janitors passes thru they dont fully clean the bathrooms. This was a problem last semester two, I noticed the pattern of how clean the bathroom would be when one of the two janitors and its said that one one would clean it properly. Now it seems that neither of the new janitors do anything to the showers! No fresh curtains , the freakin' titles are

turning yellow and falling, the paint is peeling, there isn't anything NOT wrong with KD. I actually dread taking a shower! Not only that but they don't restock normally, more do they make sure if everything is functioning properly.I would also like to pointing out that while Xavier is waisting money on their fancy side walks and arches the students that are here the most are living in a hazard! I have to wash my dishes in the bathroom while smelling someone take a dump. Thats not right... Our food is horrible too. Certain things need to be prepared in certain ways. Seasoning is also needed! Does anyone care to taste the food before putting it on the line?! Not onlt that but I dislike having a burger tossed at me with the cheese all the way on the left and meat all the way on the right of the bun. The choices aren't varies enough. We're in college working our hardest and paying all of this tuition and we dont even have self serve. And when I say that I don't mean turn around the spoons and have it open for students. What I mean is having dishes on display in a buffet type manner or even have the dishes but out a few at a time and have students select them. Im fact the cafeteria is over due for a make over. The education and professors are amazing. Allow the skateboarders to skateboard on campus. We do not get to experience the "college life". We lack extracurricular activities as well as heeding to the students needs. It can get very boring here especially on the weekends when we don't have transportation to get off campus. There are barely any sporting events or school activities on the weekend for us to engage in so we're basically stuck on campus all weekend with nothing to do. I think the school should provide some sort of weekend transportation that takes us to grocery stores and major parts of the city like downtown and even to Metarie. The XU shuttle is unreliable and is just not starting to run again. We are very limited in where we can go, especially if we're from out of state and don't know how to use the public transportation system. Tulane and other schools have reliable transportation, so why can't we? Not traditional HBCU The education is good and the people are friendly. I understand that this is a primarily black school but i feel like a minority i am extremely seperated and not important which is dissappointing when i attend a school filled with people who understand what its like to be a minority Xavier should inform students of the activities by sending a list of event the entire month. I really love how everyone is like a family. No one minds giving a helping hand. I love it! There is a real familial feel that exists in the interactions between faculty and staff. Way to high to be treated so unfairly. the service XU provides Is horrible. I think it's utterly ridiculous how the financial aid people talk to students it unbelievable I mean i feel sorry especially for freshmen who come there https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

straight from out of high school and still has questions about loans not being posted or scholarships..I'm pretty sure the workers don't care how students afford to attend there but we come there because of the great education system and they treat you like crap! Food and dorm rooms are disgusting. Not very much to do. Not very fun. Food is expensive and bland. I was expecting to love it here but it's all stress The curriculum is tough like it should but staff does not care about students like at other HBCUs More options for students without cars The small class size is great because it allows Professors time to effectively teach and easier for students to develop networking connections with them The food is horrible! And we need solar powered lighting Bursars are rude Staff is rude Everyone is extremely rude Xavier provides me with a great education, but the housing conditions (ex: severely unclean carpet, intermittent wifi, and cafeteria food) hinder the Xavier experience. Dorms are not cleaned properly and the RAs are great . I love Xavier, but they need to listen to students more. The food is my biggest concern. There are not enough healthy options to eat. College meal plan should include having an option to vegetables and fruits of a vegetarian. Often times those who answer the phones are rude. At front desks they are on their personal phones. The fiscal services offices of the third floor of XU South staff is very rude and unprofessional. The moment I walk up to their counter for assistance, I am greeted with an attitude. And then they make me feel like I'm stupid and am already supposed to know everything about Xavier and how it functions. Please teach them some manners and how to treat other people. I am very disappointed at the fiscal services personnel. Never have I been treated with such disrespect from "professionals." I am so glad I'm graduating soon! I always dread going to Xavier south for anything! I'm not a commuter I wish the food were better because my stomach has hard time digesting the meal in the cafeteria. Looking at the educational part, I would say that I am a satisfied with that but am I getting a nice college experience from Xavier no not really. There are many pros and cons to Xavier. I feel like if you live on campus there are more cons than pros. I have enjoyed my experience at Xavier thus far, but there are a few things I would like to see https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

improved such as the dorm quality(mold), the food choices(greater diversity, quality, and options for people with dietary restrictions, allergies, vegans, vegetarians), and more student involvement. Also, I would like to see students have more control over the types of events that take place at Xavier. Greater student involvement and interdisciplinary partnerships with students, departments, and faculty would be great. Also, college is supposed to be an environment that fosters student growth and independence. However, I felt that Xavier lacked some of those elements. Perhaps, Freshmen seminar classes can have broader topics that are not only applicable to college but life. After all, students don't live in a bubble in college but they experience the real world in addition to their studies here at Xavier. I have loved the new changes and growth that I have seen at Xavier since I have been here, and I am grateful that I am seeing greater momentum in further improving Xavier. Perhaps, students can have a cooking center built. As an academic institution, I think we all are aware that having to rely on the microwave is not good for our health for several reasons and should probably be used as least as possible. I think offering healthy options that taste good to students along with expanding the cafeteria hours would greatly benefit students. Xavier is a great college. You get to know the teacher more personally compared to other colleges and they truly want you to succeed. On the other hand, some of the aspects of living on campus can be better. They could maintain the dorms and little better and also have better food choices in the cafeteria. I think its a lot of things that Xavier as a school/business needs to work on. Why is it so expensive when the food is terrible, barely any campus activities, and the dorms have very little amenities They can provide more fun events While Xavier is a great school academically I feel that a lot of changes can be made in the areas of treating students like they're children (we're 17 and older, please stop babying us :) ). There's an overall "parental" feel on the campus with the rules and regulations Xavier has as well as the way the staff treats students. There's an overall lack of respect for students by the staff. I moved off campus because, as a well-raised, respectful, and kind person I felt like I was constantly being treated with rudeness and like I was a child not worthy of respect. Oftentimes, problems that students present to faculty are ignored until a parent gets involved. That shouldn't be the case. Some of us are taking out loans in our own names to attend Xavier and should be treated with respect as adults rather than children. It would be great if this mindset could be instilled in the staff and faculty. I feel as though Xavier is crippling in the area of allowing students to grow up and operate as adults. I lived on campus for 5 years and it wasn't until this year (when I moved off campus) that I finally felt somewhat like I wasn't being suffocated by rules that should be given to an adolescent. I really love my program (doctoral) and how the professors are so willing to help us. This is the only university in the city that feels like family. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Xavier provides great academics but is lacking in the social aspects. I believe Greek life should be larger on campus and the amount of work should be lowered allowing students to get a college experience. The food is nasty, I have gotten sick from the food so many times it is more convenient to go out to eat instead of risking to eat the cafe. More food options would be nice too so we can feel like the amount of money we give for tuition and fees are actually being used. This school has a pretty good mix of learning resources and entertainment opportunities. Love the education but the administration process (registration, pay fees, etc.) Is overwhelming and frustrating most of the time. I felt like there was not many options when it came to extracurricular activities. I feel like the dorms could be a little bit better and I think that we should have a union for those who don't drive and don't always like cafe food. I think that I came to the right school because the amount of support that I feel around me is undeniable. Certain things like food options and social life bother me, we as a university could work on this. But I am fairly satisfied. The bathrooms in the St Michaels Dorm are always messy and barely get clean including the shower. I had to move out of my room due to all the mold that had accumulated. I feel like Xavier treats us like kids. We are mature adults and deserve to be treated as so. There are too my limitations here and I feel like that is the reason most people do not return or move off campus. Xavier is what you make it and I made my experience satisfactory It is definitely not what I thought it would be but it is not the worst thing to ever happen. I've had some really great moments and memories that will last forever.

things and to always refer to the book when things are unclear while they are only reading off the PowerPoint slides. With a tuition as high as Xavier's one would expect a quality living arrangement, internet service, and descent food, but instead we receive the opposite! Xavier is very challenging academically but as far as everything else, i'm being cheated out my money. Xavier is pretty affordable to be a private institution. Academics are strong at Xavier and are always getting stronger. THIS IS A BOMB EDUCATION I feel that more fun activities should be given. We should also get more free things being that tuition is so high. It doesn't feel like the students are considered. They also need closer student parking garages by the main campus. Tuition should be cut in half, we're being ripped off. That's why students are leaving and going to other HBCUs. Room and board is horrible and disgusting. Have you ever woke up with roaches chilling with you? Honestly, the tuition is so so expensive, and the housing costs are really what break the bank, and I feel that it's too expensive for the quality of the dorms and for the quality of the meal plan. As a science major, I can see why my tuition might be so expensive but the housing costs are ridiculous. For the amount of money that we pay, Xavier's education is top notch. Academic quality is challenging but great. It really pushes your to strive and do your best. For the residence halls not being renovated, the cost for room and board is ridiculous. All of our tuition money is going to unnecessary things such as the new arc & the new website. There's other things we could use that money for. I feel like I am getting an amazing education but it's very pricey for my price range. I feel like Xavier should offer more work study. There are so many irrelevant jobs that adults have that a student could have so that they could pay for their tuition. Too much money we pay, which is why so many students end up transferring. The fact that you guys expect us to pay for half of our tuition before we can come to school is really absurd. There are events and activities that happen on campus that I have to pay in order to attend. Why is there an activities fee if I still have to pay to participate. Science courses should focus less on memorization and more on understanding. The information in general biology and general chemistry is almost spoon fed to students. Students should have to critically think through problems and concepts. Instructors are enthusiastic and encourage students to ask for help I admire the support system because the professor are punctual and attentive to the students' https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

needs. Somethings at this school cost wayyyy more then the quality of it....dorms!!! are so outdated. Since I am paying, I feel as though I should be able to decide whether or not I want to attend class without being penalized if I decide not to. Some classes are a waste of time when professors only read off of slides. I can do that at home. Sometimes I just learn better by studying on my own, and do not find attending every class to be beneficial. Please take into consideration that every student who matriculates through Xavier does not learn by attending lectures. Some of us simply sleep through them. Please give us the option to attend or not to attend without penalty. It is our decision. We are adults, not children. We are paying you, not the other way around. A lot of information is pushed but teachers are often forgiving and understanding. Feel like you should be rewarded more for your academic excellence. If you don't do well first year, lose your scholarship, but excell when paying out of pocket. The school should see that and offer more! The grant money is there to provide additional benefits so why not? The academic side is excellent, but the room and board should be lowered for the level of upkeep and condition of the buildings. Some floors in the dormitories pose as safety hazards. The dorms have serious mold issues, distasteful furniture (the beds seriously look like prison bunk beds in the L), disgusting bathrooms, and the food isn't all that good a majority of the time. I feel as though I am not getting what I am paying for. I understand that we, as a private school, don't get state funding. However, some things could be updated. I enjoy the academic quality. I just wish my Computer Science teacher would TEACH instead of just showing us how to code and program certain things. My adviser is wonderful and I like how she doesn't make the decision for us, but to push us to make the right decision. We pay a lot for tuition, and I feel as though to say the school is expensive there is always out of pocket cost. We shouldn't have to pay for things like prints. Barely affordable The technology fee is TOO HIGH. The wifi is very spotty We pay way too much for way too little. This campus is way behind. very expensive i do not agree with the technology fee we should have totally free printing The academic quality of XU is not something I would associate with school fees and tuition. I feel as though the curriculum is both comprehensive and competitive, which provides it inherent quality. I excelled as an undergrad XU student because of the unique approach The Dept. of Chemistry utilizes to teach its students(i.e. GCHEM/ORGO Modules/Drills). I do not; however, feel as though this approach justifies what it cost to attend this University. College students majoring in Chemistry, at universities which use a more traditional approach to teach their material, excel in Chemistry as well. When I chose to enroll here at XU as a Freshmen, https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

tuition was about 8k cheaper. I have been an XU student for five years. I have taken into consideration, cost differences between undergrad & pharmacy tuition. I have also taken into consideration the effects inflation generally has on money. The tuition here is comparatively expensive. I am a NO native, and I want a consolidated college experience. I want to be a pharmacist so XU is my only choice. When I ponder how much it will actually cost me to complete my degree here, its apparent that XU's Business Model is a very lucrative one. I feel like lecture is to rushed and I always have to go to the tutoring lab to go over the same material again, so i started to skip classes and just work through the book with the tutors. My graduate tuition is very affordable and I hope that it continues to be that way for future students. Books are super expensive you can cut costs but don't I was disappointed to learn that transfer students weren't eligible for yearly academic scholarships like other students. Because of this, Finances served as my #1 source of stress. I feel that we need better professors to lecture in the college of pharmacy. People find professors that can teach the materials. Also, find professors that doesn't have an accent since language is a barrier. Academics are great. This is more of a job training institution than liberal arts. The tuition is very high. Even though the educational experience is valuable, I do feel as though I can obtain the same education at another institution for less. The financial burden adds a great deal of stress on a student which infringes upon their academic abilities. I am aware that there are options, but some people's options are fairly limited. I pay for things I never get, see, and or care about. I pay thousands of dollars but still are forced to pay for parking that does not have cameras or any security. Academic quality is great. The experience is poor and the free resources given for the amount we pay are scarce. I feel like I'm getting a great education and I appreciate it. However as a pharmacy student, I feel my hard work, dedication and tuition fees should grant us pharmacy students the privilege of having our own graduation ceremony. Some of us students are graduating for the first and last time from college with our doctorates and we deserve to be able to share that moment with our families without having to limit our guests to 5 people. It would be great if the class of 2017 pharmacy class could be the beginning of a tradition where the college of pharmacy gets their own graduation. The quality is great except the classes that aren't needed/unnecessary shouldn't have to be taken and should be left for electives. Ex. Biology pre-med majors should just have to take the pre recs for med school https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Still not sure why the ITC fee is $400/semester Wayyyyyyy to much money. I feel as though the money I pay goes to construction projects but the school buildings are left out. Some of these buildings need better plumbing. Yet all we get is a bridge. Paying way too much money for room and board to be staying in the LLC which is infested with mold and mice, and eating bad tasting food from the cafeteria. Knowing that Xavier is not the most expensive school in New Orleans, there is still a lack of academics that we receive. Most people do not know how this subject corresponds with any other subject so they tend to forget about and continue with their lives. If a connection can be made throughout the courses, the academic quality will increase. I was surprised by how expensive the classes are. Curriculum is tough but for the technology to always be down or not up to date is not okay when people pay over $20,000 for school As much as we pay for tuition and being a professional student, we should be treated like one when it comes to the COP computer lab on the second floor. Can we print in there or not? Mrs. Jackie keeps giving us the run arounds. First, their is no more ink or toner. Next, there is no more paper. Bring your own paper. Now, printer is down and needs to get fixed? The printer needing to get fixed has been going on for weeks now. We need a more reliable service when it comes to that because it affects our learning abilities, especially if we need certain notes for certain classes and in many other ways. teachers can put in more effort in the classroom, especially in organic lecture. Teachers frequently just read off powerpoint and just shove tons of information down our throats in a short amount of time. Along with a heavy course load in other classes students have a hard time balancing each course with equality. 'Sometimes i find myself sacrificing time in another course that i could have done great in if i didn't send so much time on go. My expenses are covered by my scholarships. However fiscal services is sometimes not very helpful if a student has a question. I have received bills for thousands of dollars with no explanation and when I called, I was expected to have known what the bill was for even though all of my expenses were supposed to have been covered Xavier is very expensive but the quality of education is beyond that. We get every penny. Overall education I cannot complain. St. Mikes is a prison, white brick walls and mold, this dormitory is a joke. Everyday I smell weed and nothing is done because everyone is afraid to "snitch". I understand there are more young women than young men, but this is m first experience at Xavier. I can't even sleep in this place without bugs coming out of the AC/Heater, I can't heat food because every time I clean the microwave someone manages to spill food in it. White particles drop from the ceiling every now and then, dirtying whatever I leave out. I really hope they change this environment https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

sometime soon. If it wasn't for my busy schedule, and it meaning I'd be in my dorm all day, I'd transfer or leave strictly off of how dirty it is in here. I have not had one single good memory in this place. The education is high quality. It is absolutely ridiculous how someone who is on the verge of losing their scholarship gets a free ride and money back when a student with a 3.5GPA> has to pay out of pocket. Compensate the students who truly deserve it instead of basing it on high school. With the amount of tuition paid I would at least expect the school to offer students free printing, other options for food, and lights in the library that don't flicker while students are studying. As students we are unsure what we pay for because we always get things half way or nothing. I feel like most of the attention is placed on the pharmacy programs and other sciences. We do pay a lot and I would like better service We are being forced to pay more tuition yet there are cut backs with labs. Additionally, should be the ability to have recorded lectures with the current tuition. Too expensive to have such poor quality. The dorms are filthy and moldy but room and board runs from 4,000 - 7,000 that's unacceptable I do believe I am receiving a quality education, but I wish there were seminars for certain topics (i.e. taxes, how to budget). I don't understand why we need theology... Academically, I believe I get more than enough. I feel challenged and know that this experience, academically, will pay off. I think there are many fees that I pay that don't pertain to me. For instance, I pay for a yearbook that I won't be in nor get. Tuition is pricy but it is a private college. Of course I would like it cheaper especially considering my major but that's life. I'm not sure why I'm paying $800 a year in Information technology fees It could be a lot better for those of us who are not pre med and pharmacy students. For examples, our learning environments. Compare the NCF to XS. They are polar opposites. Very competitive school. I am challenged academically. Only reason I'm here is for Pharmacy. Very satisfactory teaching styles of teachers. Increases my performance to meet their expectations Where is all the money going? We pay a lot more than comparable public universities but receive fewer services and amenities. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

I would rather have a larger fee for things like printing, lab coat, etc instead of feeling like I'm being nickled and dimes to death. I don't think I am actually learning anything while at Xavier. I have a lot of courses that are teaching me memorize things solely for getting good grades on tests. Out of my time spent at Xavier I've learned more about myself and how to be a young professional but not anything that my professors are force feeding me. I do agree that Xavier is challenging but I do not believe that it should be this expensive to get a quality education. The academic quality is great! The teachers are helpful, the only department I feel like is lacking is the physics department because the teachers are not able to tech students in a way they can learn. Many students are struggling and a new teaching style needs to be implemented. With the money I'm paying for tuition along with grants and scholarships. I feel as a commuter student I should have the same amount if acces as students who stay on campus. I feel like a tuition and fees are not spent in the ways that they should. Teachers should be fully evaluated based on the success of students to receive tenure. Some classes are pointless. I feel that I wasted a year of pharmacy school my first year because almost every class was based off of basic knowledge and memorization of material that was not used in later classes. In undergraduate school teachers and advisors do not train students to be involved in research and summer programs etc to make themselves seem more presentable to graduate school programs. Xavier's academics are pretty good, especially of you are a hard-science major. I get what I pay for. I think I am ultimately satisfied because we have great academic programs, but I think me having a scholarship contributes to my satisfaction.

give me free printing and i'll be more inclined to donate I will only come back for homecoming if my friends plan a trip. Not interested otherwise. I want to give back, especially to give scholarships to mass comm students. I'm very likely to stay engaged as an alumna. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would love to assist others in acquiring the same opportunity. I'd probably come back around to see if the construction projects are finished. I know I'd like to give back to my department, but I don't know if I want to give back to the school as a whole. I feel like a lot of money is pocketed. I will contribute and engage only for the means of improvement for non-science majors and pharmacy applicants. I can never attend anything being a commuter with no car As of right now I am unsure as the experience in the dorms is unsatisfactory in the sense that there is plenty of room for improvement with how high the tuition is. I thank Xavier for being a stepping stone for getting me where I need to go but The reputation of the school is great, but the school is missing the love that students from LSU has I appreciate those who did help while I was there and will contribute but besides that it's up in the air. I'll definitely try to persuade my kids to apply here in the future. I would donate but I don't think I'd come back to visit. I may donate money, but I most likely won't come back to visit. What's the point, all of the money seems to go to the Medical departments and KD. I hope to give back at some point in my life. It won't be right after graduation, but I do not want to be an alumnus that doesn't offer anything. I may come to homecoming in the future. When it comes to giving money back, I will give DIRECTLY to students and/or the departments. I feel like when giving back to the school I am not sure where the money is going. But giving to the students I know it will go towards paying for books, tuition, or everyday expenses. If I give to the departments it will go towards materials needed or scholarships for students in that field. I feel like this would be greater if I see my money being used wisely to benefit the students instead of building bridges and walkways. I believe most people come back for Greek like and not exactly for the school I'm a graduate student so there's not really much to participate in Only because I want those after me to have a better experience than I did Most students are unlikely because of various experiences

I feel like I should donate. I want my money to be put toward bettering the halls and such though... Not parties and other random activities or whatever else. I've been treated less than before, and it makes you not want to stay involved anymore than I have to. I love Xavier and I always will. I hope some of the student service issues get resolved so that more and more alumni will feel connected to the University after graduation. Until there are some changes in the overall feel of the school I don't think I would want to be so engaged. This is a personal preference. It is not indicative of my feelings towards the school. I like this school and the atmosphere, I just think there should be changes. define engaged...? If I come to Xavier 10 years from now and it is anything like it is now I will be upset. This campus has no real sense of community or student engagement and it sucks to say that. There's nothing I really feel connected with here at Xavier. I will be an engaged alumnus when I graduate. As I get older, I will empower the underclassmen to be the best that they can be. If our Alumni have back like at the PWI's we could have better dorms and better food and better buildings, our students wouldn't be leaving becausetheu are unable to afford tuition, if the alumni gave back we would have enough to find out students to stay My future engagement is not due to the wonderful experiences at Xavier, but the need for change and the hopes in supporting my departments, who currently, recieve little attention. I also take pride in being a Xavierite despite the clear flaws the institution has. XU has provided me with a quality education. I know that I will be a competent professional because of it. As a XU student I have experienced first hand, just how important it is to give back. I would not be a pharmacy student had it not been for Ms. Pearl's significant and passionate affiliations with charitable organizations. Organizations like UNCF and personal donations from alumni has made success a tangible goal for students such as myself. This attribute has created a strong desire within me to monetarily contribute back to the university, upon graduation. I will likely be an engaged alumnus because of it. This school is not really active like other schools

Comment (optional) I have found that the faculty51.4% generally meet our expectations. They are generally engaged and concerned about student achievement. I have been majorly disappointed by how students are treated by the staff in various offices around the University. We are treated like children but expected to act as if we are adults. College is where you learn to conduct yourself however we are not given that opportunity. Professors are good. The staff in places like uc and financial aid are not. Financial Aid/ Fiscal office faculty rude and impatient Financial aid is terrible, Fiscal is terrible, Registrar is terrible. Food staff is TERRIBLE (FIRE SCOTT PRICE AND EVERYONE IN THE CAFETERIA) Their professionalism is at an all time low. Staff/ faculty does not interact with the campus leaving a huge disconnect between us and our understanding of each other. I love the faculty I have had experiences with, however some staff that work in offices like fiscal services, do not have good customer service. The professors are fine. However, the faculty in fiscal services and financial aid only help you if they want to or they will tell you one thing and do another thing. Or they'll tell you they'll work with you one day and take that statement back the next day. Again, I have some like and dislikes when it comes to faculty at Xavier. The majority of the staff (particularly instructors) come off as very courteous individuals. Not only are some faculty not respectful, some faculty are also unprofessionally dressed, which makes it harder for me to respect them. Fiscal Service is rude. Financial Aid Stuff members are horrible. All of them always have attitudes. Professors are usually awesome but financial aid staff and the likes have a problem that needs to be fixed like permanent attitudes are prevalent Student accounts' service is rude and the people at the windows are often on their phones when students seek help. They appear annoyed when asked questions and give short responses that are unhelpful. I am satisfied with the interactions I've had, mainly with the faculty. However, my friend was seeking help from the fiscal services office and was told Some workers in the XU south offices like fiscal and registrars office has attitudes. And some professors has the mindset of wanting to bring us down. They don't want us to be great!

Faculty are rude especially during office hours. Overall, I am satisfied. Certain offices such as fiscal services and financial aid have very rude staff members. The faculty and professors (the majority of them) really care about their students and are willing to help. The custodians and maintainence people are awesome. Very humble and hardworking. Unfortunately I have encountered many rude ladies in fiscal services on multiple occasions over the years. Professors are great. Student account, register, and general staff in Xavier south can act like students do not exist. The faculty in the financial aid office usually don't know how to help students and very often tell them the wrong things. The whole process of paying tuition and getting reimbursed is very confusing and more complicated than it needs to be. I've received attitude consistently from certain faculty members, especially in Xavier South. One staff member rolled her eyes at me when I walked into the student accounts office before I even opened my mouth to ask my question. This has been ongoing since I arrived at Xavier in 2010. For me, being a generally sweet person, I don't understand why the faculty feel like they can be so detached from being courteous. I treat each of them with respect and kindness and it isn't until they see that I'm a respectable student that they soften up a bit. But I should automatically receive excellent customer service from them because I am paying for the school for such service. If they don't want to be there they should find different jobs. I shouldn't have to dread going to any office on campus due to expectations of receiving undue attitude. And, again, their sweeter sides oftentimes only come out when parents are involved. Financial aid are the rudest group of people I've ever encountered. The staff in the cafeteria can be quit rude! Xavier South is like the building doom. The staff are rude (when they bother to acknowledge your presence), slow and express their dissatisfaction of having to deal with such peasants (the students) with every transaction. Professors are completely respectful and reasonable. However, financial aid staff, secretaries in the department of education, and student accounts representatives have been extremely rude and unprofessional. They speak to you as if they are in a rush and do not try to accommodate you in anyway. When you call with questions, they seem bothered. I also had to send my letters of reccommendation 3 times because the office staff kept claiming they never received it. I even chose multiple modalities (fax, mail, in-person). The secretaries claim that someone will get back to you, but sometimes it takes days to hear back, if you are lucky enough to hear back at all. Financial Aid staff is horrible Rude and sometimes unprofessional. Need to be more pleasant to students and treat us like https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

adult rather than kids. Always uninformed and miscount students credits. Makes us all as a student body feel they do it on purpose to collect more tuition money. The teachers are very nice and helpful towards students. Some faculty can seem rude and uninterested. The staff members in many of the offices like student accounts, registrars, etc are rather rude. Some don't let you explain what you're trying to do and dismiss you. Some of the staff at Xavier are very rude, especially in the fiscal, and the finical aid office. all my teachers are white so that throw us for a loop at first but they iight white ppl so we cool Most of the staff have very nasty attitudes. The professors are amazing. Financial Aid Office is pretty rude. Need more young faculty and staff. 30-50 years old Every teacher I have had and every faculty memeber I have come across has made me feel as though they are very dedicated to their job and they actually care about the learning environment and experience for the students. Faculty is great. Everyone else fisical, financial aid etc. TERRIBLE. I have to call my mother to speak to them because they have NO RESPECT. Teachers are pretty nice, but the staff aren't that nice especially the registrar and finical aid offices. I have only experienced two terrible experiences with professors Dr. Greene (English 1010) and Dr. Farmer (Theology 1170). Neither of them show respect towards students and allow their personal bias to effect the way they grade students, which cost me my scholarship. I was very disappointed to be treated in such a way. Other peers have had similar experiences. There are only a select few staff members that care about students and some professors should not be here because they cannot connect with students I particularly enjoy the faculty within my department. Some teachers are racist towards others races other than their own Fiscal Services is the worst. They have terrible attitudes and rarely ever give you helpful advice. Professors are great. However, financial aid is abysmal. The workers are not necessarily the problem, but sometimes they can be rude. Xavier's financial aid system is very confusing, which may be the cause of the staff's annoyance to students. The teachers are nice but everyone else that work like in the financial aid office are sooo mean and sometimes the cafeteria. I'm satisfied with the courtesy and respect of the faculty (Professors) but financial aid staff as well as workers in food service are very rude and not respectful Many people in Registrar & Financial Aid are simply rude for no particular reason. fault we're constantly being sent to their offices. It's their job to answer our questions & help solve our problems. Isn't that what out tuition pays for? Fiscial Service counselors are very rude Professors are great... staff in the UC and Financial Aid, ect need some work. the alumni office on the 6th floor of XU south is the only staff that actually do a great job at their jobs. Fiscal services is ALWAYS rude Most of the people that work in Xavier South in deparements, like financial aid and fiscal services, are EXTREMELY RUDE and act as if they are miserable with their jobs. They always have an attitude problem. They treat students with disrespect then get upset when students parents get involved. The professors here are absolutely the best. The people who answer the phones are rude . A lot of faculty in the cafeteria are rude and violent. Some of their actioms have made me uncomfortable on multiple occassions. All my teachers for the most part were amazing! Mr. Adamo is probably the most understanding and thoughtful teacher I've come to know. On the other hand I was disappointed with the way Ms. Thomas and Ms. Minnard handled things in early first semester at the Superdome Job Kick Off event. I had brought a friend with me for moral support, she wasn't dressed for the occasion at all but she was standing outside away from the companies. Since she was a student here at Xavier, they had her leave, due to "embarrassment". Without even realizing what kind of person and what successful of a family she came from. Her family owns one of the largest oil wells in Texas, and she's from a beyond educated background. I was very upset by the way she was put out, and it was the most unprofessional thing I've ever witnessed by the representatives of this school that are supposed to demonstrate professionalism. I can't complain about the staff, most are very respectful to students. A lot of staff are rude or have attitudes at times. The teachers are polite, but the staff at Xavier University of Louisiana, especially in the Financial Services, Admissions, and Student Accounts department can be very rude and dismissive. Financial adviser had made me and my colleagues cry on multiple occasions. The teachers are good. The financial aid and fiscal services are horrible. A few of the people who work in fiscal services are absolutely rude. That is the only way to put it. I'm not sure why, but I feel like when it comes to money, they should be more understanding and quite honestly a little less rude about their job. All the teachers are good people. Maybe one or two exceptions.

Gordon is the most unprofessional teacher in pharmacy that I have EVER encountered. How she is employed at Xavier I do not know. Bursars at financial aid are rude every single time i go with a check to pay my tuition. On multiple occasions the staff was rude to me when I asked for help. They either gave an attitude or made rude remarks directly at me. Ms. Diane Encalade, Ms. Treschere Washington, Ms. Erica Houston, Ms. Sherre Miller, and Ms. Davis in Financial Aid, all deserve a raise. Ms. Encalade has been holding it down for multiple departments, as well as Ms. Treschere and Ms. Houston. Ms. Miller and Ms. Davis always provide me with correct information. They have never given me the run-around. The vast majority of professors are extremely respectful and helpful. However, financial aid staff and similar other office workers mostly do not want to be bothered with helping students and are often very rude especially if a student does not know something or does not know how certain processes work (such as requesting transcripts, "signing for a refund deposit," etc) I am dissatisfied with staff that work in areas like financial aid and the like who have to interact with people and have attitudes. Some of the faculty tend to be in a good mood, but sometimes they form an attitude and it can be hard to work with them. Financial Aid staff needs a LOT of work. The fiscal services people are usually very kind, only one in particular seems to always be angry Very courteous. Teachers are very welcoming and open to help. The faculty were great. Others in Xavier south were not as cooperative. If you don't like your job don't work at Xavier. Each department or office has a few good ones. However, sometimes, I feel that there is a disconnect between students and faculty. I like how faculty here are friendly even though I am not their student. It is always a greeting with a faculty member most of the time. The staff does not respect our rights as adults. I'm 24 and the staff in fiscal services and financial aid, especially, are very short with me, ignore or delay inquiries that I make. I've literally had to go directly to the dean on a number of occasions to have a matter handled in a timely manner. There are times when I've had to have a parent call in order to be taken seriously. It's unacceptable. My professors are amazing! Some people in financial aid can be rude at times and unwilling to help. The professors are pretty cool we need more Black professors. There's a disconnect between admin and the students.

Professors were great, the other staff was sub-par Honestly, the faculty has been overall pretty rude to me. I've had bad experiences with rude comments and being talked down on. I've also experienced some happy to help teachers which make my experience better;however, for the most part I am treated with no respect. Some of the faculty just seem to be so hostile towards you. Dr. Page and dr. Akbar are amazing. Truly always there to help. Seriously, don't lose then. I have had some trouble with financial aid emailing back. Many faculty and staff at Xavier are wonderful but there are a good bit of faculty and staff that most students agree treat students unfairly or without respect. The staff in the financial aid office seem to be the target of many criticism because of the way they treat students. There was more than one time in which I stood there in front of the cashiers while they talked among themselves or looked straight at their computers before even acknowledging for over 5 minutes. Financial Aid office, cafeteria, sub connection --- new people who are willing to happily work with the students, please!! I feel like many of the professors talk to the students like we are below them both during lecture and even during their office hours. It makes me feel very uncomfortable to be spoken to in such a way. I know the professors know their materials they are teaching really well, but they need to teach it more clearly on a level we can understand. Some need to understand that organization is the key. They need to keep in mind that this is our first time being introduced to these materials, so stop teaching it like we already know the material. They are jumping all over the place with the materials as if we know the materials inside out. Please stop teaching it as if we are not intelligent because we are not as knowledgeable about the subjects like you are at your level. Also, when we say we feel rushed and did not have enough time on an exam, we mean it so please take it under consideration instead of blowing me off. Many of the interactions I have had with the financial aid have been terrible. Some of the people that work there don't care about the students and don't have any passion for the Xavier community. Ms. Poplus is extremely rude and does not have the competencies needed to help students solve financial aid related problems. She is not engaged with student body she was employed to help. A terrible experience every single time I step into her office. The staff in the fiscal office and Mr. Sanchez in St. Martin Deporres should have more respect for students as adults! Some of the instructors are rude when you ask them questions about something you don't understand I have only encountered a FEW teachers that actually reach out and try to help students succeed. Everyone in the financial aid office is rude and does not try to accomodate students

but instead tries to hold onto diplomas and not let students get their transcript because of money. They have sued plenty of people because they have not been able to pay off debt. They need to come up with a student financial plan so that the students are better able to pay fees on time and still attend college. We should have accountants and notaries on campus. Provide students with services that will help them with credit and debt. I'll be honest-some of my classmates can be annoying when it comes to interacting with our professors. I'll chock it up to the fact that some people are never satisfied. Even spite this, the professors are ALWAYS true professionals and respond with courtesy and caring. Whenever I call the financial aid office, for example, they always seem to have an attitude whenever I ask a simple question like they hate their job The professors are respectful but the financial aid staff and just the people who work with registration in general can be rude Financial aid and the fiscal services offices are notoriously known for being the most disrespectful, uncourteous department on campus. They do not return phone calls in a timely manner, and often address problems with an attitude. Except with the financial aid staff. I was awarded work study and told to wait until I was contacted by Ms. Nguyen, however I never received an email. Only by going to financial office later in the semester was I officially able to begin work study. Some of the staff, that is hired my me wonder if you all are just setting us up to fail or succeed. But other faculty really care about your academic education. I have never been talked to so rude in life, some of the ladies that work in both financial aid & cashiers office are very very disrespectful. Every time I called to ask a question that would argue & get loud with me, so unnecessary. Some professors are great, but there are also a few bad apples. My dissatisfaction is mainly with financial aid office. The staff seems slow. Many other students and I have been greeted with attitudes when we had questions about some confusion. Students get the feeling that they don't like to be there. Financial aid dept rude!! Need more african american professors at this HBCU Financial aid and fiscal services employees are often very rude and inconsiderate/disrespectful. The people in the financial aid department are rude and have no sympathy, no respect. Everyone has an attitude and act as though you have to bow down to them. The faculty and staff are great but it is the other workers that make me nervous. I have had issues with the guys who ride around in those trucks giving me and my friend problems. I have had many difficulties with registrar staff. I've been talk to as if I am being a bother when a question has been asked. Not everyone will know the right procedure to get things done so https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

it would be nice to not feel like a nuisance when asking for instructions. Most of my professors within the College of Pharmacy are great. My dealings with the financial aid staff, student accounts staff, and any office located in Xavier South has been terrible. They are so rude and act like they are above helping you. I don't like having to call them or visit their offices because I have rude encounters every single time, no matter how patient and polite I am. Dissatisfied mainly with financial aid and how unorganized they It depends which building you go to Most staff are EXTREMELY rude. Very very rude. Some KD front staff are rude as well as the technicians and fiscal people. All faculty and staff here are generally respectful. The professors, contractors, and even the agricultural staff have always been friendly towards me. With the exception of The Dept of Finacial Aid's Staff, whom could use an attitude adjustment, everyone who works at XU are very hospitable. Financial aid staff has an attitude majority of the time I call. Some staff are great, especially in academia. But some staff are awful like some people in Xavier south. Student Accounts faculty can be rude at times Professors are the only respecting staff. Others are rude for no reason. Great Professors. Finaid is wonderful. However Fiscal services are some of the most disrespectful and hateful people I've ever met. It's as if they are oblivious to the fact that they are a service. I find some of the faculty in student accounts to be quite rude and dismissive at times. Especially during registration. Not all, some are very friendly but I've come across a few that were very dismissive. The financial aid office and fiscal services have very nasty attitudes all the time. NEVER do they help students with respect it's always some sort of rude attitude.

How do you feel about office hours being kept; materials/grades being posted in a timely manner?

The professors keep their office hours and materials up to date they are excellent in those areas, but most professors are horrible at posting grades online Not all teacher but grades 57% on blackboard which I think should be mandatory for them to do For the field of study I am in, my teachers actively used blackboard. However, I do have friends in other majors that complain about teachers not posting to blackboard. Professors need to put grades on Black Board in a timely manner instead of students waiting anxiously. Some professors are better at this than others. I usually always have my grades posted on BB, and assignments back in a timely manner. I have had a couple professors who didn't return assignments and post grades on time but for the most part I think the faculty are very timely and responsive. Depending on the class, the professor may take hours or weeks to put grades in. It is really annoying, and I am getting tired of faculty not being in their office during their office hours. I do not always have time to be waiting around for them to come in, so that needs to be fixed. This is mixed. Some professors grade much faster than others. I have some professors who can grade an exam or a 20 page paper an few hours after it is turned in. I have had other professors who have taken anywhere from a few days to as much as the last days of the semester to grade papers. Some teachers take their time with grading but as long as the extra time does not affect any of my future work, i'm ok with it. I understand and don't mind you have to confirm with faculty that they'll actually be there during their published hours when you want to come. Some professor can better utilize Bannerweb. Also there should be a deadline for grading assignments and providing feedback. Definitely ! I love blackboard it's a great way for me to see my grade. Not all professors use blackboard. I believe it should be a requirement that they update grades at least MONTHLY. Overall excellent Most of my professors don't post grades Most of my teachers i've had do not use blackboard. There are only a select few staff members that care about students and some professors should not be here because they cannot connect with students The posting of grades varies on the professor. Some don't post at all

Not all professors post on Blackboard. needs improvements Some of my professors do not use blackboard to post grades or assignments. Sometimes I feel like it is pointless and it's inconvenient to check. Some professors don't use blackboard at all. Kinda sucks. Some teachers never post grades on time. Most professor neglect to use blackboard to post grades which is really bad some teachers are on top of their grading, but others aren't. I don't like having to constantly email a teacher so i can figure out my overall grade. advisors are never at their office hours, what's the point in having them? From personal experience my advisor asked me "are you my advisee? You should come more often?" But he was never present at his listed times and wanted me to come when I had class. Unprofessional. Do better. That's the only way I know how I'm doing! Some teachers don't post grades on Bb so I'm left to wonder how I'm doing in the class... Some teachers never post grades. I have to physically come in to office hours to know. Not all teachers post grades. It gets annoying sometimes because I can't see if what their putting in is accurate Office hours are extremely limited. I rarely can meet with a professor because our schedules always conflict. It's also an inconvenience because the entire student body, staff, & faculty go on lunch together. When am I supposed to go meet with my professors & other offices when their lunch coincides with mine? (12-1pm) It depends on your teacher because some post in a timely matter but some don't. Sometimes a challenge keeping up with professors that leave at 3 pm and i get out of lab at 4:50 It just depends on the professor.... My Computer Science teacher posts grades ASAP. A lot of my teachers though, do not update grades as soon as possible, which makes me wonder about my grades sometimes. I wish office hours were a bit more flexible, even though I only go if I really need the help. Grades accurately posted or posted in a timely manner is not a habit among all professors. Some teachers don't use blackboard. Exams take forever for it to be graded or handed back to students. Students should be able to see their score the next day like most universities. i don't ALWAYS feel like i can meet a teacher when i need to but for the most part, support services are readily available, so i have very little room to complain. I have Drill on a Tuesday... And grades are posted on fridays or something from the past https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

week. . . so I dont have much to show my advisor. Not consisent but I can't speak negatively against the teachers who actually do their job well. Some teachers should use their blackboard more. I have had several professors who do not respond to student emails. When I visit office hours, they aren't always available like they should be. Most don't post grades and when asked they say they "don't use Blackboard" Some professors are good. Some are horrible at it. Please don't assign written essays to us if you take not weeks, but months to grade them. Then you assign another written paper when we never even got our first paper back yet. It is not effective this way because we did not even get any feedback from the first one yet. Not looking forward to the computer based exams on the soft software in computer labs either. Computer testing effects my train of thought because I am use to taking them on paper and pencil where i can make notes to myself like which one to go back to, main words i can underline and keep in mind, etc. And not being able to go back to check my answers on those computer based exam is not cool. Yes, I'll have to take the NAPLEX in the future in such way, but first i like to get these materials down one by one first. It would be better if more teachers posed their grades on blackboard. Some either don't post or wait until midterms or finals to post I have some teachers who update grades and others do not, it is always an guessing game as to what you have in their class. Faculty could be a bit faster, but it is understandable, the amount of time they take to grade papers, because they might have 100 students or more. Some teachers don't post and are hard to catch up with. In H.S. I was able to get an accurate detail of my grades, in college I dont know my grades until Midterms. -_Teachers could utilize blackboard's features more frequent. (Group chats, homework posting, etc)

Comment (optional) Run arounds and attitudes Fiscal service and financial aid staff are very rude as well as people that work in food service. Their willingness to help or answer questions is highly unlikely or they say it with a rude attitude. There's a wide range.. I think xavier, at least my department can push paper like a champ. Those department heads are great. They make me love Xavier. Other departments I done find are as helpful. I don't know if they are just overwhelmed or what. I just find that some of the practices are out dated. I often need to review my billing statements and payments. It's not always clear online. I wish that's was viewed easier Faculty is great. Staff not so much Room & Board is very distasteful. The mold and rodents are uncalled for and do not match the high prices. Financial aid office as well as fiscal service is very disrespectful and unconcerned with students There are maybe 4 staff members that have actually helped me without it seeming like I was in the way or nothing them. "If I can do anything else for you let me know" that's great customer service. Faculty is excellent, engaging and committed. The staff perspective, however, is, in general, not pro-student. The staff (food staff, cleaning staff, library staff, computer lab staff, campus security) acts as if our presence is an tremendous inconvenience to them rather than them serving at the pleasure of the students. They most certainly aren't required to wait on us hand and foot, but if their perspective isn't, "what can I do to help?" then they most certainly aren't part of the solution - they are a part of the problem. Considering the cost of college these days, and the cost of a Xavier education in particular, attending college is truly a privilege for those who are able to take advantage of it. With that being said, a complete paradigm shift must take place with regards to the perspectives that the staff members as a whole embodies if the longevity of this institution is a long and short term goal. And that paradigm shift must start from the top down. Offices in Xavier south that are supposed to be helping students are not always helping. Scholarships are not being offered. Especially when the school has a reputation for being extremely hard and a lot of students losing their scholarships. Again some faculty members are very dismissive and I feel like what I have to say doesn't matter. Some people who hold non-teaching jobs are rude and mean. It would be a difference if there

was only 1 or 2 but I have met at least 8 people who have had an attitude. Sometimes staff in offices like financial aid give you a lot of attitude when you ask simple questions. The financial aid office is probably one of the worst customer service I've ever experience. This is true mainly in the summer when it comes to making sure my paper work made it to the school or if fafsa made it in. I'll have to call multiple times and sometimes never get a direct answer or to wait only to find out weeks later that they didn't get it. When in all honesty I believe it got misplaced. I would check with Fafsa or the mail provider and it would say it reached Xavier successfully. If that's not bad enough sometimes talking to whomever over the phone is. An attitude is given even when arriving in person. I was very disappointed with the customer service that was provided during freshman orientation, and even before. There were times that my mother would call for instructions and they were very rude and unclear to her. During orientation there was so much nervousness in the air and some of the staff and peer deans as well were not welcoming or understanding. Financial aid and fiscal services need to check their attitudes The fiscal department is the exception with poor customer service. That depend on where you are.. All of Xavier's Faculty/Staff are very kind except the cafeteria workers.I have experienced numerous of rude encounters with them and it is hard to remain kind to them. I just feel that if they do not want to be at work, they should not come. Xavier is a very family-oriented campus, I don't understand why the beginning of my day (breakfast) has to start by encountering a rude worker, as if I made them pick up an application and apply. I don't think the staff in offices like the Registrar, Financial Aid, and others realize that the students are their CUSTOMERS and are the entire reason for their existence at the University. You should know that people have left this university to go elsewhere because of how they are treated by people who work for the University. With so many other options (many cheaper) available for higher education, Xavier should polish up the way it services and appreciates the student population. I have routinely felt like I am a bother or interruption to people when I seek basic, simple assistance with student issues. I have stood in the Registrar's Office before waiting an awkward amount of time for the receptionist to finish a personal phone call before before even being acknowledged. Students routinely get the run around when seeking help with registration issues, especially during the summer term. It is routine at Xavier to call one office and be transferred to a different office only to be told you need to call back to the first office, etc. There is no uniformity in the level of service we receive on campus from the various offices. I know that other institutions have streamlined these processes and are offering a coherent student experience that causes much less frustration that what is experienced at Xavier. I visited a university in Texas in the fall and saw

that they have all of these basic student services in one single location (admissions, financial aid, etc.). When I saw that, it was immediately apparent to me that they designed all of that with students and prospective students in mind....FIRST. Xavier is designed to be convenient for the people who work here. That's not a path to continued success for the university. For the last two summers, I have registered for online classes during the summer. The process of registering for summer classes is very archaic. Even students who are only taking online classes are asked to come back to campus to sign assessment forms even though the registration is completely online. Practices like these are archaic and other universities have modernized things like this. Every staff member at the University should be required to take some kind of customer service training and the University should foster a culture that recognizes students as customers, not inconveniences. Faculty is cool. Everyone else fisical, financial aid etc. TERRIBLE. Some professors need to get off their high horse and stop treating the students as if we don't matter and are just another student of hundred students. I will never forget some of the experiences I had w some professors since I've been here. I had to meet with Dr. Harris (female) to pick up my exam before, and she treated me like I was a nobody. I told her good morning, and she said nothing back as we were walking to her office. She gave back my exam and said "what took me so long to come get the exam (1 week later) and is it because her class is not important enough?" She totally caught me off guard when she said that to me. Why would you say that? Maybe I had a long week of exams, and finally got to it? When students ask you questions, please stop belittling us. Treat us how you want to be treated or how you want your kids to be treated. Please. Depending what part of campus you are, you run across a lot of staff that down-talk students because we are students. Most impacting professor in my whole time at Xavier has been Dr. Turner. Great man. Very interactive with students and seems like her cares. Very welcoming. If you don't like your job don't work at Xavier. Only Dr. Johnson, Dr. Al-dair should be teaching the pharmacy profession. The staff in Fiscal Services are very rude and disresptful. As a paying student, I expect my financial information to be up to date and accurate as possible at all times. If I come in with a problem or question demand to be treated with respect and to be serviced without coworkers talking about personal business or on the phone having personal conversations while I'm sitting there. Also, I believe that the staff needs to take a refresher course in finances and money mangagement. For the same reasons listed above. It seems like everyone has an attitude when you call to have something situated. Can't call ITC when my wifi goes out because they get an attitude.

Financial aid office needs to be revamped. Financial Aid are the most rude, inconsiderate people. I don't think they realize that I'm the customer and the reason they have a job. I might be younger than you but I'm still an adult and should be treated as such. Mr. Price or whatever his name is in the cafe is also extremely rude. If you complain to him about anything, he brushes it off and talks to you as if you're stupid. I do not like his attitude at all. Overall, professors go above and beyond to make sure their students comprehend what is being taught. Staff always make it seem like it is about them and not about the student getting helped. The faculty are amazing, especially the Political Science and Language departments. They actually care about their students. The staff could use more training in customer service, as well as conflict resolution. The fiscal services employees are unnecessarily rude Staff who work in the UC are almost always more concerned with what's going on amongst the students(gossip, holding power over students, etc) than they are with serving the university and its students. The library bathrooms are filthy during finals, makes me not want to use the restroom during that time. For the most part the Xavier faculty and staff is comprised of very educated, passionate people that enjoy sharing their knowledge, skills, and talents to help the students at Xavier grow into innovative, community driven people The only reason why I am here is because I don't want to let anything stop me from getting my degree. It could be better in offices like Fiscal, the Library, and the dining hall. No one ever... EVER answered their phone. You could call financial aid or student accounts, no answer. I expect to get an answer at 4:59 if the office closes at 5:00. Its not 5:00 yet so why do I not get an answer? Depends on what department. Too many women with attitude problems. The cashier's office, registrar office, and financial aid office are rude. It is hard to work with them. Sometimes they seem like they don't want to be bothered. Financial aid's customer service is terrible I feel like many of the sodexo workers that are stationed in Jazzman's and SubConnection and Freshens take a long time to get orders ready, carry out conversations, even on the phone, when they are supposed to be serving. They'll add time on my sandwich being mad

because they insist that their conversation is more important. I also think they argue too much in front of the students. Office secretaries are sometimes found talking on the phone while a student waits for their attention. Overall, I have had a great experience. However, this can be approved in some areas such as the cafeteria and Jazzman's. almost every member of the faculty and administration is a star The staff, specifically at Xavier South, do not answer calls in a timly manner, nor do they know how to do their job. Depending on where you are going for service, sometimes the faculty and staff are not very helpful. The resident assistants can be very unhelpful when issues arise and rude as well.

Comment (optional) The wifi is really spotty and unreliable It's almost terrible. My phone and laptop cannot be connected at the same time and I am constantly logged out of the wifi while doing homework. The wifi sucks need better wifi Wi-Fi is constantly going in and out. Though they're usually good about sending out emails, sometimes the wifi goes out unexplained and things don't work as they should. At times it can be slow It has gotten way better since I have been at Xavier. I just wish wifi would automatically remember your device instead of constantly having to reconnect. It can be better especially since we have more hybrid and online classes available. The wifi coverage is not spread widely enough nor is it strong enough. I am constantly losing connection or not being able to use all sites/apps when I'm using wifi on my phone or laptop.

No matter the location on campus. The wifi needs to be better.. Wifi drops often, I hand to resign in multiple times a day The wifi network seems to be strong. I would recommend opening up some sort of visitor or guest access, even if it is a paid service. My best friend goes to Tulane. When she comes to Xavier to study with me, she has to tether her laptop to her iPhone in order to use it. Tulane students are a part of the Eduroam network. They have access to wireless services all over the country and in foreign countries. Those visiting students have access to wifi at Tulane when they visit. Xavier has no such option. If Xavier's library aspires to be a serious research institution, it should seek to expand access to visiting researchers and students. The WiFi is terrible !!! The Wifi access is extremely faulty. It goes in and out at all hours of the night. It is ridiculous because I study at different hours in the night, therefore, it is no help to me to have the Internet going out. The wifi is slow and it disconnects all the time. The Wi-Fi disconnects automatically sometimes. The wifi goes in and out all the time. The WIFI coverage is terrible and sometimes even the landline computers are sometimes bad. To pay $400 for IT it is ridiculous how bad the wifi is. I understand that there are many devices but pay to expand the network. Wifi has gotten worse since my first year. I strongly dislike having to log in everytime muycomputer goes to sleep. I also hate having to change my password every semester. i cant connect and when i cant connect im using up all of my data and my mother gets mad... Wifi is sometimes very week or not accessible at all. Extremely annoying when trying to do online homework. It's always going out and never is it good WiFi. Wifi keeps going in and out which makes it difficult to do homework from my dorm room. Wifi not very reliable for online tests and quizzes. I'm a commuter and I can no longer log in the wifi! RUSHNET had a tendency to go haywire, especially when you're working on a tablet or phone. It has a tendency to say we're connected, but then have no internet connection. The wifi could be better. It's not the best quality in the dormitories. Professors also have many disruptions with the wifi during class time. I pay TOO much money to have my internet connection disconnected every couple minutes while in a Xavier building. Connectivity is spotty, sign in required a bit too often https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

It is often an interruption to have to reset wireless passwords every few months, and I wish I could reset from home. I don't love that I have to go in to the library to accomplish this. No problems so far... THE WIFI IS AWFUL. I have to log in every time i enter a new building, and i lose connection in the middle of online test. It can be better but is easily accessible. Some times it will randomly disconnect and that can be frustrating when in the middle of something important. The WiFi can definitely be unreliable 9 times out of 10. It's really an issue when the professors advise you to do the timed online homework in one of the computer labs instead of using the WiFi. Soooo slow It seems a bit spotty in some places like the Dorms, and sometimes when I'm on the main campus. For example, the UC or the Admin. We pay a lot of tuition, we should have the best wifi Constantly having to sign back in to wifi because it goes out after awhile can be really time consuming and unwanted. For the $400 we pay to Technology Information each semester should be much quality service. WiFi sometimes goes in and out. I don't like that you are frequently logged out of the wifi I don't understand why so many websites are blocked/we cannot access them from our cell phones using our he wifi. Are you going to pay for my overage bill because I'm doing something on my own time and can't access it on the wifi? It needs major improvement. The construction/arch/sign thing isn't necessary. Make changed with the wifi, students will appreciate that much more. When walking too and from a building, I'll loose wifi so maybe work on a stronger satellite or something When I lived on campus for my freshman and sophomore year the wifi was annoying, slow at times. the wifi sucks. I wish we didn't have to constantly re sign in to the wifi wifi is very iffy and goes in and out Wi-Fi constantly shuts on and off in dorms, Internet runs slow I rarely use campus wifi. I heard it was slow &a unreliable too. It doesn't have a consistent connection. Internet is spotty at times, certain servers that are blocked do not make sense, many of us use video games to relieve stress but the internet blocks many games without a good reason. It works for the most part but sometimes it's really slow https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Goes in and out when u leave/enter buildings, or even when u move to different classrooms in the same building. Sometimes it doesn't work, etc. could be 10x better Sometimes the WiFi isn't great in areas and it can be slow sometimes. How often does the off-campus server need to have problems before you decide to get a new provider. It doesn't work half the time. Wifi does not connect well at the convocation, and there is no wifi connection when I am parked in the parking lots. At times it works and other times it does not I'm not there enough The IT Department at Xavier University of Louisiana should be ashamed of themselves. They charge students $400.00 a semester for shoddy services and poor customer service while raking in our money. The technical support at this university is a joke. Meh. They make it too difficult to connect for the first time every time after that is easy Logging in everytime I arrive on campus is tedious because I commute. Receiving an email reporting that the wifi is down is ineffective. The access is very limited and as we all know... Poor. Not good service all around school and the Website page is down as o right now. Wifi is always slow or down The WiFi connection has improved since I have started at Xavier, put there are still problems that people are facing. In some building the WiFi is strong, while in others people can barely get a connection. It is mostly seen within the halls. Where the best connection is through a LAN Cable. For how steep the technology fee is at Xavier the wifi is too unreliable. It is not consistent across campus. It is so slow and we pay too much to not have sufficient wifi. WiFi can be spotty at times, especially on devices other than computers. After leaving campus I have to sign back into the WiFi network when I return. I wish it was more like a personal home router in which all my devices will automatically reconnect when I return to campus. It barely ever works. Suggest that we should be able to stay connected to the wifi without having to log in everytime we go to a new building We need better wifi. It needs to be stopped. Need to improve the wifi, don't like how I have too login every time The reocuuring putting in password and slow internet most of the time. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

The wifi is terrible in the dorms. Over the past few years, the WiFi quality has improved but it can be very slow during peak hours in the residence halls. The access to wifi on this campus is not great at all. I feel like i should be able to connect to the wifi even if i am outside of a building as I still ON CAMPUS. It's terrible and spotty. Wi-fi is awful, and I have lag time on my computer, which is new and had no downloaded material on it to slow it down. In between the the UC and the L and Deporess it is not strong. Computers are too old. Some of the screens don't even work properly. Something is always wrong with WiFi. We need better internet services. I hate it. It logs in and out, and sometimes when I am working on something, it will turn off. Wireless AP's are overcrowded and too far away. It's extremely difficult at times to connect in the science buildings. The wi-fi is HORRIBLE The WiFi continually goes out and cannot be accessed throughout the campus. It's frustrating to have limited or no access in the residence halls. i like that there is wifi, but i hate having to log in repeatedly. There is NO point in the wifi because it never works and you have to log into it EVERY time you open a new device. It should automatically sync once I put my password in once. The wifi is terrible and I don't understand why I have to pay ITC Fees when they have one job and they are no where near doing anything to make sure it gets done. I would rather keep that $50 to $100 I spend every month and use it to pay my phone bill. Dead zones when walking from the upperclassman dorms is terrible. Wi-Fi is always messing up. it would be appreciated if we didn't have to sign in everytime we wanted access to rushnet. Constantly having to sign into the wifi is a hassle. Its horrible. I wouldn't even try to us it. Oakwood mall has better Wi-Fi. I should never drop the signal, and its annoying when it signs you out. There are some spotty areas where the internet goes out if you move one inch. There are also times when it goes out altogether without warning then comes back on after you disconnect then reconnect the Internet connection. Not good for streaming It comes in and out alot its frustrating having to keep entering your passward repetitively.

Wifi is HORRIBLE in the dorm rooms from 11pm - the morning. Its getting better but some areas on campus, I still cannot access wifi. It is horrible and slow and it always disconnects so I have to consistently have to keep logging in. It disconnects a lot and at random times. $37,000+ and this is what y'all can afford. There are times when the wifi acts crazy to where what you are waiting a while for a document to load or your computer is running so because of it. Walking throughout campus wifii cuts out. Having to log on every time is annoying. Speed and servicd can be better Need better wifi it's too many students to not have quality wifi. It shuts down when there are too many people on it Need to do better . Since the wifi works with Adobe now my phone can not connect to it. The wifi is always going out and sometimes doesn't work when I am walking around campus or in my dorm Wifi and Cable are extremely unreliable! Wifi in the dorms is ass. Wifi in buildings not on campus (art village) is equally ass and disrupts class. Intermittent wifi I have a personal issue with WiFi access. I wish we were able to have access to more than one service because Rushnet can get overloaded with everyone logging on at the same time. It's very spotty and I have to reconnect every time I leave a building and enter a new one. I have been a student here for several years and I have never had an issue with the wifi. No matter where I am on campus, library, dorms, cafe, even the parking lot, I can access the network. Establishing a wifi connection on XU's campus is always rapid and secure. There is one aspect of this process that is a redundant. The same device(s) must be authenticated multiple times a day. Having to do this constantly throughout the day is a bit bewildering. It is also inconvenient. I have never experienced this anywhere else but at XU. We pay to much for it not to work really well. Wifi doesn't cover whole campus, and I don't like having to log into the wifi every time I turn on my computer or phone. It is ridiculous and inconvenient to have to sign on to the wifi every time we turn on our laptops and every single day on our phones. At other institutions, students only have to sign on once a semester, and after that the devices connect automatically. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Speed is slow, and coverage is spotty in the dormitories, very poor quality overall in comparison to 2014-2015 school year Wifi is slow and always has glitches Even though we are a open campus I believe wifi needs to span from one side of campus to the other without dead zones. We need to also not have to sign in every few seconds because it is very unconvient. Also wifi access should be offered for televisions and wireless printers allowing us to grow with technology. Very annoying to constantly log in to Internet. Should be able to remain logged in. Also, Internet is slow and varies around campus. It would be better if WiFi could be accessed in parking lots while waiting for classes to begin, especially for graduate students. We pay a lot of money to have TERRIBLE wi-fi. And it seems like no on cares. We also have had the Internet services go down and that time is critical for use. For her most part, it works perfectly but when it's out, its out during the most inconvenient time. Terrible. The University needs to update the Routers in the dormitories. The access points are terrible even though most of the routers are near the doors of each room. It should not take forever for me to upload movies, Youtube, etc. I have to log in every time I leave a building for more than a couple minutes. I am so fed up with RUSHNET Wi-Fi altogether. We need better Wi-Fi. Plain and simple.

computer labs are uncomfortably warm. Not updated software Computers are slow in all computer labs. Only classrooms with computers work good. I'm satisfied but the computers in the library are extremely slow They should have a printer in KD or in the dorms It would be nice to have more prints available in the library at the start of each semester I wish there were more Mac labs but I am glad that there are so many opportunities to use a lab where ever I am on campus. LAN cables are the best way to connect to the Internet on Xavier's campus. WiFi does not hold a connection in all of the building on Xavier's campus. There needs to be Macs in the library. Wish there was a 24 hr lab on LLC & DP side of campus. There should be a computer lab in the University Center and printers in the residence hall computer labs. I have my own computer so this does not really apply. I rarely use XU's computers because they are normally slow. Only time I use the computers is for chafing my password befor the internet which we should be allowed to change it on our own personal computers. There's computers across campus but there should be printing along with the computers, I.e at the dorms. There are a good amount of computers on campus Why the computer labs (especially with the most updated computers) close at 5pm is baffling. I'm sure any work study student would love to sit at the door and do their homework while the computer labs remain available to students at least until 11pm. Accessing computers are fairly easy, but there could be more avaiable to students, especially those attached to printers. There's at least a mini-computer lab in almost every building in campus however they all do not offer printing. Printing in every computer lab would be awesome. A computer lab/printers in the biology building would be nice. computer labs being everywhere really helps when trying to get work done in between classes. I'm a mac user. I couldn't believe that even the mac lab doesn't have macs hooked up to the printer. there should be computers in the dorm lobby Definitely accessible to those without. Love the idea of computer labs especially if I don't want to study in my room.

the L computers are too slow WE SHOULD HAVE PRINTERS IN THE RESIDENCE COMP LABS i shouldnt have to run to the library late at night or early in the am to print Wish their was a printer in the L computer lab Can't change wifi password when you get back on campus because the library is not open, need more on campus computers There should be computers in the University Center. There are only two locations on campus to print things from. Fall 2015, the 4th floor computer lab in Xavier South was not able to print anything after the halfway mark of the semester and nothing was done to fix the issue. I was kicked out of the system to log in when I became a commuter. There needs to be an update with the computers in the library and dorms. Also printers need to be placed in the forms so we don't have to walk in the middle of the night to go to the library when we need to print an important item. Could be computer labs and printers in dorms!! Need computers in residence halls to allow students to reset their email if they move in on the weekend and the library is closed. Not all of the computers in the dorms are connected to WiFi, and none of them are connected to printers. I have a laptop of my own so computers are not a problem. I wish there were more locations across campus for people to access computers. Dissatisfied with printing access in the dorms. It takes forever for Xavier computers to login and I have nothing saved to my account. Printer(s) in the dorm computer labs would be nice Computers in St. Katherine Drexel are completely outdated and slow. Why can't I print from a mac? More prints would be nice.. Computer access is never an issue unless it is either midterms or finals. During peak hours computers seem to be more occupied but I have never failed a class due to this. They could be replaced with more modern machines though. The computers the main computer labs are many years old. Tuition increases by about $750 annually so I'm sure it can be squeezed from the budget. satisfactory indeed.

Comment (optional) Satisfied overall but many computer labs are outdated. Shout out to Mr. Paul! Long turn-around time, no answers to phone calls, tickets closed without resolution I do not really have a problem with them, nor do I have to go see them about anything. Appreciate all the labs and SPSS/other programs that are needed for class that are available outside of class. I had an issue with cable and they fixed it within hours. They're always super friendly and open to help. although the card scanner is broken in the mac lab, so you cant add money to your print account. its been broken for months. They helped me with many many cpu issues Never had any experience with them In classrooms, we don't have updated technology to connect laptops for presentations. I went to them with a problem and they completely overlooked it and dismissed my work request. It seems like my wifi gets disconnected every now and then and whoever answers the phone always has an attitude. If you don't like your job, leave. When having issues regarding technology on campus, ITC is very attentive and helpful. Whatever... The IT Department at Xavier University of Louisiana should be ashamed of themselves. They charge students $400.00 a semester for shoddy services and poor customer service while raking in our money. The technical support at this university is a joke. Only problem I have with ITC so far is they need to learn how to pick up their phone or call back when I leave messages. I wouldn't hear from them for days to weeks and would have to go to office instead. ITC can take a long time to help with problems. You frequently have to remind them of your problem. I think they should offer help with personal computers. especially for 400 dollars https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Special permission is needed for WiFi connection to game consoles. They do not help when it comes to personal electronics (unless its a WiFi problem). When there are technology issues in an office they take a long time to respond. Every new project they have put out within the past 5 years has never went smoothly. There are always bugs to fix with blackboard too. They are not as efficient as they should be. The ITC Manager Ms. Horn and all of her computer lab staff have all received my personal "Performance Stamp of Approval." Any time a student has an Technology/ITC related issue they all do their absolute best to solve it promptly. I personally like this aspect of the XU student experience. Even though I am just a student I feel as though I am just as important now as I will be once I have graduated. When someone feels as though they a priority, it enhances their future performance. The $400 fee per semester is ridiculous, especially when there is no dependable wi-fi to show for it. As a pharmacy student we pay a high amount for tuition. We were once allowed some free printing in the computer lab but got that taken away because a P1 was printing too much. How is that fair. The woman in the library is extremely rude to the students. There are a lot of problems with the internal systems at XU. I do however see improvements being made. I love the new website. It is definitely more professional and very well laid out for a better user experience. The migration to Gmail is definitely better! They help with claims filed Some days they have attitudes When I first started at Xavier, I was not aware that your personal wifi password expired every few months and I would not have known or been helped if it wasn't for upperclassmen. Also, the limit on prints is also slightly inconvenient because I never use them in fear that I may need prints in an emergency and I don't know how to purchase prints when they run out. It took 2 years for you guys to upgrade from a 300 megabit connection choking at total saturation. I was still charged an exorbitant amount each semester when I had to use a cellphone connection in lieu of the campus internet. It was that slow. In short, it was pitiful and inexcusably slow. No university should have less bandwidth than a home connection. Also, the Ethernet jack in my room is STILL broken after an entire semester. My account is constantly locked and I always have to call ITC to unlock it. It appears that the internet is down at least once every 2 weeks. Horrible service They cant solve basic problems dealing with personal laptops and such The one issue I went to them with was acknowledged, but never fixed.

I still don't understand what they do, they can't even clean your hard drive for you. That's ridiculous I hope that the ITC comes up with wireless printing. I have only called to get a password reset but I think the service I got was friendly and quick. ITC is no good. They do not call students back and when putting in tickets to request for ITC to come and work (especially on cable boxes), they do not work in a timely fashion. The recent update on computers makes the process of logging on extremely slow. at times my accounts lock me out without reason THERE IS NO REASON THAT I SHOULD RUN OUT OF FREE PRINTS AS A PHARMACY STUDENT!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY WITH THIS EXPENSIVE TUITION! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO USE MY FRIENDS ACCOUNT AT LOYOLA TO PRINT FOR FREE!!!!!!!! I pay money for no customer service, they never help. They were great! Printing should be free, since tuition is so expensive. They do not seem to fix the problems I have when I come and ask them to solve them. Some people in the lab do not pay attention. Came to fix my tv in a timely matter The new director, Mr. Moore is great. He seems to care about the students needs and the meetings thag he is conducting between envision and the students are highly needed and appreciated.

was free housing. This is both disgusting and unacceptable. Also the previous voting scandal in Spring 2015 that showed skewed voting results was poorly handled by administrators. SGA should be more active, more cataylistic, more organized, more vocal, more present, and more for the students than it is. It is a complete joke, and an insult to the student body. They're visible, vocal and versatile... I love it Very little engagement with students other than those close to or within the 'SGA clique'. I cannot fault them too much because they are full-time students as well with homework, jobs, etc. It is based upon favoritism of students It was good first semester but this semester it's a bit lacking. SGA always sucks. Bunch of clowns trying to get something on their resume. Miss Xavier race is always just a competition between the Deltas and other candidates so they can be seen on campus. Students pick candidates based off of their popularity or their campaign slogan. they do not pick candidates based off experience with service and leadership roles. Males need to be more involved. Their should be required leadership and service activities freshman and sophomore years. Not enough activities on campus. Treyvon Merritt is doing a wonderful job helping students receive the best XU experience they can. In my opinion, I would say that the SGA is filled with people who act based on people they know. As leaders, I would think they would want to know the people they are leading and try to listen to them and convey their voice to the appropriate office. SGA is basically a way for those students in office to get what THEY want under the impression that we as a campus want it I don't really know who any of the sga is. I am aware that this is a catholic institution and that it stands on tradition and orthodox values; however, the students attending this institution should be treated with respect and as maturing adults. Student life would be a lot more involved if there weren't so many restrictions and if more funding was provided to enhance on campus activities. Often times it seems that the academics overshadow student satisfaction with the school. (Hence, the low alumni/alumnus support and contribution) Go Lacey! What is SGA? This school needs to stop using abbreviations like this. If I haven't been here long enough, I just would not know the meaning. better events = higher student morale less strictness They have helped make campus better for social aspects

They are doing their job, and trying their hardest. The whole food incentive is nice, but it gets old after awhile. This is my third year at Xavier and i have seen no change that any SGA staff has made. My freshman year with Javon Bracy was the most seen SGA to me. I still did not see her actively change anything or do anything for the student body that was worthwhile and stuck in my brain. 2014-2015 SGA was practically nonexistent and disorganized. This year SGA is pretty much the same. There are so many people on campus that have NO IDEA WHO TREYVON IS!! That is highly unacceptable. I've heard him say that he only wanted the because of the free room in Deporres. Because I'm a graduate student I don't really interact with SGA. Need a better way to communicate activities going on on campus I have heard some students complain about student government. There is a feeling that it becomes some elitist club of people who serve their own interests. I don't feel this way but I understand the perception. I think people should remember that SGA leaders are students first and that SGA is a secondary consideration. They work hard. I don't know about any activities/events that SGA does. IOC meetings are unorganized. Leadership does nothing productive. There needs to be more transparency on where our money is going in terms of these SGA positions being paid and the kind of events we have on campus. I find it highly ludicrous that organizations have to pay a fee to request for funds for events at IOC. Then when a organization does all what is required, IOC does not give appropriate amount of funds. The excuse that IOC tries to save money for all organization to request for money is also ridiculous because a large amount of organizations do NOT go to IOC fund hearings. The real world does not operate like this. Whoever, distribution of funds should be a first come first serve basis. The events The communication about what's going on within the campus is poor. Usually I find out about anything until the day after or the day of. We definitely need more student activities the student life at Xavier compared to other universities is dead. However, I'm still unsure as to their purpose in the grand scheme of things. For the most part, I see them as enforcement so that the clubs adhere to Xavier's mission statement. Other than that, I don't see their use. I feel like they do whatever they want and never fully engage other students outside of student congress or XAB. I don't know where I can get activities via mobile cause many events I never heard about https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Nothing at xavier is that great really including the student government. they just get all of the free give aways on campus before the students who pay their activity fees can get to it. If candidates can only spend 200 dollars to spend on their campaign then they cant go all out for events such as homecoming and spring fest. Being able to get sponsors shows what one can do for the university during the school year!!!!!!! SGA is our voice, and suppose to make Xavier fun when it comes to entertainment. They're trying though. I love our SGA. I don't know how true this is but I heard that certain class reps were using class monies to fund "work lunches" at fancy restaurants. If this is where my activities fees are going then something needs to be done about that. More accountability needed The freshman president is forever engaging with me and other students and I enjoy how she and Ms. Freshman keeps me updated with events and whatnot. Sometimes it seems forced but most of the time it's genuine. They should do a better job of making sure students know about the different activities. Student events need a lot of changes. They should get students opinion I think they do a wonderful job, but there are more ways that we should be unifying our campus. Feel like we could do more events to increase school spirit or at least make events more known Need a better way of getting information to students. A lot of the organizations end up missing out on many things.

I don't even know who's in the staff... Some are nice, and others are just mean. The officers are respectful but no many students know who they are, they make little impact, they are unorganized, seemingly unenthusiatic about their positions, and uneffective, with the exception of Miss Xavier, Lacey Douglas. She seems proud of her position and makes noticeable efforts to do her job in the betterment of Xavier. Again the staff are only there for the small clique of students they hang out with and not doing any thing efficient to get to know the students See above comment regarding staff/faculty What is SGA? Have not engaged horrible...we're just products to them I've never really met or talked with any of them They are all helpful/respectful. All of SGA staff act like they are our peers. They are supposed to act with a certain level of professionalism but they play around and act like they are our friends. Treyvon Merritt is the best sga president ever! The way I feel about the SGA leadership is how I feel about the staff.

Comment (optional) I took part in playing volleyball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 at the Recreational Center. But unfortunately, that was pushed to the side by basketball. I wish there was some way we could work something out for that. To much like high school. Very repetitive every year. Once I attend an event once I don't have to go again for the rest of my college career. There could be more activities. Last year, my freshman year, I felt like there was always something on the yard We are not a party school, and I respect that. I enjoy many of our events, but I wish we had more activities during the evening. Currently there is an attempt to create a table tennis club by the Confucius Institute but apparently the have not received much support from Student Activities. Thus, it seems difficult for students to form recreational clubs. More on campus activities. Campus life is struggling. Why isn't there spring and fall lines for sororities and fraternities? There isn't much that Xavier can do in terms of recreational activities due to the limited space and the fact that the school is separated by a neighborhood and canal; and we have a practically unused parking lot by Xavier South.

Cuz It seems as though nothing is goin on on campus They aren't fun a lot of the times. It's mainly loud music, "here's some food/snacks!" and most people just go on with what their doing. I feel like if things like that are going to be done, it needs to be stepped up. They aren't exciting. Waste of money. The activities are always the same. The same music is played at events. The Greek like is just now coming back. That could be better as well. This school is old fashioned and needs to change to be able to accommodate students and the time change. The events should be more adult. Is there a possible way to talk to the board? Xavier should be more than just a school for education. Students should be able to have some socia life and academic achievement. We should have more events at night. Having an event from 11-1 is not enough time to put on and fully enjoy the event. It is also not fair to people who are in class. We should also have more off campus events beside sector 6 and the movies. Visitation time should also be extended. We are not high schoolers. We are adults who have problems and pay bills. Most of my classes were scheduled for the afternoon in the Fall semester, during which most of the events on campus took place. Don't even wanna start. Get rid of the problem---Dean byrd Lack of a quad makes it hard to appreciate downtime on campus. GREEK LIFE SUCKS. Dean Byrd is pitiful. The 2.75 active gpa for greeks to be active during the semester when the actual GPA to be active in the organization may be lower is ridiculous. And its silly to have every little thing approved by silly Dean Byrd when that one of the main things that keeps the student retention rate higher especially at a HBCU! They need to get students opinion on events. Most events seem to be more for alumni instead of students. There are very few activities that we can do on campus for fun. And I only just found out that Mid City lanes is just down the street Not enough student activities. There should be more events. Not enough school spirit. I feel we could be more involved with activities, but it is hard because of the strict rules. There has been more events on the UC yard on Friday's which is AMAZING! I often wish that UC would be open later to work in, or have something that would allow students, with their ID to swipe in to unlock the UC doors, so that during cooler or rainy days, we have place to work other than the library or dorms. I feel like I never know what's going on, and wish there were things like card games, board games, and sports that aren't basketball and football.

You guys are too strict with Greek life. I like the wellness center There isn't really a Greek life present. There were more events in the beginning of fall semester The events are just now starting to get fun. I feel as though we do a lot of stuff when school first starts but after that we do not do a lot except for community service and the occasional activities and even with those activities some of them are very poorly publicized and end up having poor turn outs because no one knows about them It needs to be more diversified and better activities Greek life could be better. Remember what I said about "the full HBCU experience" not being present. I feel like our Greek life should be more active. Greek life is minute. All activities on campus are seminar or academically related. I understand XU wants to prepare us for the workforce, but everyone is drained because we have no activities & fun things to participate in outside of academics. Campus life could be better. More activities and less regulations. Xavier's definition of recreational activity is mainly listening music on the yard on fridays. Thats not fun. We could go do some other outdoor activities There could definitely be more activities, especially with the greeks. annoyed I pay that fee every year, but there's nothing I participate with. Especially hate that all those yearbooks get printed without first asking who actually wants one. Hardly any events on the weekend. Friday events are pigeonholed by a small group of people that choose events for the student body. Coming to an HBCU as an incoming student; there's all of these pre conceptions of what life is like on campus. I did tons of research, and probably looked at tons of Youtube videos that portrayed "strolling". I have friends at Howard that see it all the time, but in my case, the Greek Life at Xavier is almost non existent. I'd love to see more of it, because when I do witness strolling it reminds me of why I came here in the first place. Needs improvement The President seems distant from us. I'm not apart of any clubs. Usually I'll have a class during these activities. Sometimes I just dont want to stand around and listen to loud music. Ms. Typhanie is very helpful in the Student Center of Leadership and Service. i wish we had more clubs to fit different interests. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Our campus is a little on the "dead" side when it comes to on campus activities. And while it is nice at times, it's not consistent. We rarely see activities on our campus, its always dead. There are things to do, but they are not advertise to their best. And since Xavier has so many restrictions, it is hard for activities to reach the level of success it can have. Could serve more food. There is no true HBCU experience. XAVIER limits students from having a lot of events and experiences that most colleges/universities allow This year has definitely seen more student life as far as Greek life and activities being held on campus. The actual students do a great job. But, staff in high positions i.e some deans sometimes make it hard for SGA, XAB and other organizations to serve the student body. For example, approving an idea and changing your mind at the last minute. Greek life here is nothing like other HBCU's. There is nothing to do on this campus past 7 p.m. maybe 9 if we are lucky The school puts entirely too many restrictions and activities on campus. Greeks are most HBCUs heaviest recruiting aspect. Xavier has too many rule and regulations for them to actively do things. Yet, on the flip side, some greeks focus too much and forums and educational events instead of fun and engaging events. I would love to come to your events is you stop trying to make me dress business casual for everything. XAB tries their best to put on great events but people either do not come or when they come, don't engage in the event. XAB also needs to do other advertising beside just social media. Flyers, especially in residence halls, would be awesome. Also, word of mouth is the best!! Students complain about not having anything to do while XAB complains about nobody coming to their events. Find a middle ground. Yet, during the weekends, campus is DEAD. There really is absolutely nothing to do on campus on the weekends. WE NEED GREEK LIFE BACK, LET ME TAKE THE ALPHAS TO NEW HEIGHTS. THE KAPPAS SWEAR THEY'RE GODS CUZ THEY'RE THE ONLY ONES AROUND... its lame. I think the on-campus activities have improved since my freshman year. I can see where the University is trying to enhance the student experience. The one area of improvement that could be addressed is the level of enthusiasm for the University's athletics teams and events. I follow all of the University's main social media accounts. The publicity that athletics events get is very spotty. The main XU Facebook page rarely ever mentions any big games. I follow the Facebook pages of Loyola and Tulane, among others. Those accounts are always posting interesting articles, news, campus updates, etc. Xavier's Facebook account seems to be someone's afterthought. It for weeks at a time with no mention of anything happening on campus. The students are watching but so are prospective students, parents, etc. It appears

at times that someone is asleep at the wheel and that nothing of any importance is happening at Xavier. What Greek life? What events? I don't really take much part in on-campus activities because I am a commuter and therefore are not really aware of each and every activity. Although there are more activities being brought to campus, there is still a lack in participation. This is due to the fact that students think activities are going to be mediocre as always. Never pleased with activities. greek life is very boring, lab throws nice events if more people would attend Need a larger Greek life. And more activities especially in pharmacy. They need to change those movie nights to Saturdays. Going to a movie on a Tuesday is counter productive. Hoping the soccer team will be recognised by the school this semester. Not enough A lot of The events on campus are a bit childish and we are treated less than adults Campus life is okay. Many students don't have to to get involved, but activities do happen. The number of activities is significally lower than usual this year, probably due to the lack of strong leadership in SGA and accountability for XAB. Everyone simply needs to do better and have more integrity about their positions. Need all of the Greeks to be back on campus. There are no campus-sponsored activities like card games or sports other than basketball and football, and their website is never up to date. Love the new rec center (is a pool in the works?) Been worst over the past years but this year seems slightly more affective. Dean Bryd can be rude. And over baring. Not enough student activity. As an HBCU, there should be many more Greek like festivities. The notices are hit or miss. Several events came and left before I bumped into a old flyer. Not there enough Xavier doesn't turns a well rounded college experience. it's all about academia and work shops. Activities are usually for on campus don't really pertain to off campus. Greek life barely exist, half aren't eligible, requirements are past any other schools standards, and being Catholic school most activities typical hbcu's have Byrd says no. Only fun activities to do during homecoming and spring fest weeks. Greek life is nonexistent.

Comment (optional) I don't know who these people are. Little/no engagement, which to me is good because it is truly the students putting on the events. They just watch over what the students plan and perform. Good job Dean Byrd! Campus ministries is awesome!!!! Never really see them. I don't even know what they do. all of them in the UC suck. Especially Ms Typhanie Butler. Ms Godfrey and Ridgell are the only cool ones now that ms christie isnt in there anymore The grown people need to stop making friends with the kids. Many administrators are stuck in their ways and fail to understand the visions and goals of the student body. very rude!!!!!!!!! not helpful at all Very very respectful It could be better. Also they treat us like babies. We are young adults let us bring our culture to Xavier even though this is a catholic institution this is also the year 2016. Let us have more fun on campus. This is why the retention rate is low. They don't do much to increase fun and involvement or greeklife on campus. They are very engaging and respectful to do students. Yet, they do not always do what is best for the students. The pharmacy dean's office is very friendly and helpful!

I don't even know what they do. not the staff, just the deans they are so living and kind Student services at the "CASHIER" at Xavier South needs to be nicer to the students when we come for their services. Can we get better service? I feel like every time I ask a question, they speak to me so not politely and even rolling their eyes sometimes. Why is that necessary? I can see you right through the glass windows. I am nice as can be, and why are you talking to me like I some kind of nonhuman? Financial services: When we come in at the beginning of each semester with all kind of financial problems with FASFA or Loans, can you please be more helpful instead of sending us around in circles seeing this person and that person in the south/north of Xavier? Can the staff work together and call each other and make sure of things before sending us back and forth? It really sucks when we have to do that every semester, especially when it is crazy hot outside. They treat the students like 5 year olds with all the strict old fashioned rules and expectations. Only Dean Ridgell. Some staff acts like children and have caught them gossiping and are rude to certain students. We are treated like kids not respected as adults. Dont come to work mad at the world for NO reason They don't really interact with us.

Comment (optional) We don't get to decide who we choose for musical artist along with official update of who is performing. It needs to be a poll of selection of artists that most students will agree on so no matter who the artist is all students will come and enjoy the performance. We never really know what's going on in the school unless you are always checking your email or social media. Again, this goes with the restrictions that are places on the student services. that they can, but it still has to live up to what can be done on campus. There's little transparency at Xavier, but administrators will tell you otherwise. It's always a secret for some reason during Springfest, and I never understood why they couldn't tell us who was performing. I always disliked that about Springfest. WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET ARTIST WE WANT BASED ON IF WE HAVE THE MONEY NOT BASED ON IF THEY CURSE DURING THE CONCERT! Needs improvement Major artist don't even like to come to Xavier anymore. We need to be more accepting of the new generations culture. I never know who anyone is because of my music library, but I think the artists that come are a good representation of what most people like. Whatever is planned stays within the 'SGA clique'. Very little interaction to let us know about the planning process. They don't get good artist. We shouldn't have to have bad concerts to be cheap and to go by the "no cussing" guidelines. We should have a good artist that others would actually PAY more to come to. we need to utilize the big convocation center that was built and isn't used for basketball games. Need better artists. I didn't participate or go to Homecoming. During a Water Drive proposed, they were not transparent with a group concerning how money should be collected, where things were going, etc. We are not children. A little cussing is fine. No one listens to Musiq Soulchild. The music building deserves work done on their building. Being a music major myself, it almost seems like Xavier's main priority is the Science fields and the art fields just fall in, The students need more say in artists for Homecoming and Springfest since the performances are for us. It could be better. Also they treat us like babies. We are young adults let us bring our culture to Xavier even though this is a catholic institution this is also the year 2016. Let us have more fun on campus. This is why the retention rate is low. It appeals to many different people For homecoming, Student Services takes it upon themselves to choose who's performing, but often fails at picking someone or people that the STUDENT body would approve and enjoy seeing. Also, times picked for activities on the UC yard are often inconvenient for majority of students seing as it's scheduled during lunch and students, as myself, are either trying to get to lunch or making their way to another class with no time to stop and enjoy. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

No. I feel as though they do as they please. Put a poll up and let me see the results. Twitter now offers the option to do polls where you only vote once and see the results when you vote. I think that is a very good idea that they should try for springfest Idk Homecoming committee is a popularity contest and doesn't really consider anyone else There is no transparency. We can't get a good artist because they are not allowed to curse. Again, we are not children and should be allowed to make that choice. Let 1925 handle it from now on. They do an okay job. I don't ever really want to go see who they get to perform at the school for any event. Decisions seem to be made up stairs in the UC. We just get to see the output. Who asked for Musiq Soulchild for homecoming? I certainly didn't. The office of student services does what it wants. The students are a minimal part of decision making. Not the best music choices

online access to our info were easier that could help Whenever I volunteer with Student Services, something happens that the staff handles very poorly and they move on without acknowledging it, which I find to be very rude. For example: they once had my group waiting long past the scheduled time for a class service project because it turned out no one was scheduled to drive the van, and when they finally picked us up (after we had called our teacher and our teacher called them), the person who picked us up asked us to not call our teacher again in the future. The Student Services Staff have always been very kind, personable, and approachable. I had quite a few financial/technical problems while transferring over to Xavier, however if I was at the wrong department, building, talking to wrong person, etc, someone went out of their way to make sure my next move was in the right direction. It's neutral only because I haven't had to deal with them since freshman year, so I don't know if they have improved. Student Services is generally good. There is a general feeling that they have their favorite students and everyone else is left out in the cold. I don't think that is necessarily true but they probably need to make a better effort to appear inclusive to all students. They more into satisfying the big wigs of Xavier rather than the students Attitudes

Comment (optional) Sometimes the bathrooms aren't clean and we don't even have a working microwave on our floor. Numerous times your washing machines flooded water into my room and I had to practically pull teeth to get you guys to fix the backed up water on my floors. Don't forget that some of the washing machines are so loud and they desperately need service. However, for the second year in a row, just like the chillers in the dorms, they're never fixed. Not as clean as it should be, maintenance issues. Xavier is dirty! The maintenance and structures are terrible. Holes in the ceiling on the second floor. Old microwaves, sinks don't work, knats, laundry utilities don't work properly. Clean our bathrooms!!!! Need cleaner bathrooms, and cleaner, better water fountains There is never any towels nor paper tissue. The sanitation is extremely horrible as well as gnats present in showers. One should not have to keep asking for someone to check out their room every time the repair men don't show up. The system could be better. The way we live in KD is horrible. The bathroom is barely cleaned, we always run out of paper towels and toilet tissue. The showers have gnats in them. They are never fully cleaned. There is an odor in the showers and it is simply horrible. I am satisfied with the maintenance of the L but I feel bad for the freshman because KD was horrible and the bathrooms were really dirty. They even had worm once. Why do i share a room with animals. I should have roaches and ferrets and possums living

next door to me and roaming the hallways. thats disgusting. nobody should be used to that kind of lifestyle My window does not go up and my A/C is constantly broke. Some of the hallways have an odor to them. We need cleaner rooms and the Sanchez needs too be welcoming and nice. He's always so rude and disrespectful. No one likes him. The janitorial system is terrible in the Katherine Drexel Dorms. The janitors do not clean the showers and they do not re-fill the toilet tissue. Xavier needs to build a new dorm that does not have community showers. Xavier also needs to change the visitation rules. Times are changing, so the rules also need to change. Xavier cannot dictate whether or not someone has sex or not; it is not their place. Dirty, disgusting, built on dirt from improper cleaning, sometimes there's no tissue or paper towels, at times the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in days although the trash was taken out. It takes a long time to fix things. The rules of the dorm are irrational. The bathrooms are often less understocked with paper towel and toilet paper. They has also been an infestation of gnats multiple times in the showers. The hall staff do not appear to be proactive with problems within the dorm. They also tend to have unpleasant attitudes as well. The mikes is disgusting I had mold in my A/C unit (has been taken care of now). Doors broke. Washing machines dont clean or broken. Showers leak. No overnight guest. St. Martin de Porres Residence Hall has serious plumbing issues that need to be addressed. It really seems like the dorms get the very last trickle of funding after everything else has run through the budget. Conditions are sometimes but almost never enjoyable. These dorms are flilthy. The bathrooms get so disgusting that they become pretty much unusable. The janitors hardly clean and we've gone periods without any tissue/ paper towels being in either bathroom for a matter of days. Everything is broken and I've witnessed so much mold that I'd rather live in attic. Somethimes we do not get tissue and paper towels like we should. I only hope that work orders get completed in a more timely manner Fire Alarms and drills at random time some at 2am. The RA's were terrible and really rude. The cleanliness wasn't very good at all, there were times we went without toilet paper for days and didn't have paper towels nor soap. horrible. Conditions here are are unacceptable. There are weeks where we are missing soap, tissue and paper towels. R.A's are not really doing there jobs. People are loud and obnoxious every night and inconsiderate of others. The shower backs up, the trash area smells terrible, the floor in the hall is usually wet, half of

the blinds are missing, the just to name a few things. The building needs to be redone asap its so old and my room is always hot i had to buy a big fan for my room you can't even change the temperature in your room which is crazy i have to wake up sweating. Dorm life in Saint Katherine Drexel is horrible!!!!! Wish they could remove trash more often St. Katherine Drexel is awful. I understand that it's an old building, but some floors going days without toilet paper, paper towels, etc., is ridiculous. I understand it's and old building, but maintenance doesn't seem to be important at all. The bathrooms never seem cleaned properly. We just had our showers cleaned after weeks without a cleaning We need a kitchen. The next dorms y'all build should be suite style with kitchens. Visitation rules should be not as strict. More freedom. Restroom in COP building right across from Room 100 -- can yall please fix that faucet? The water is constantly running and it is so wasteful. Ive been here for almost 2 years and it still isnt fixed. That is gallons and gallons of water we are letting run 24/7. Walls need to be checked for roaches, AC needs to repaired, plumbing issues (water leaking from ceiling), etc. The list goes on. Honestly, they should demolish this building and make a new dorm. The custodians do minimal effort to really get the bathrooms cleaned. For the longest, the urinals have been stopped up and they have yet to have been fixed. They never fix what I put a work order in for KD is disgusting. For the amount we as students pay to live in these dorms, our standards of living should be better. The hallways always smells, the carpets are often soaked due to leakage and things break (such as shower heads, study rooms etc.) Service is really slow. I lived in KD and the L before movin off campus and KD especially needs to be renovated FIX THE MIKES BATHROOMS AND CLEAN THE MOLD IN THE ROOMS THE BATHROOMS ARE UGLY AND GROSS There have been plenty of times where the bathrooms are out of tissue, soap, and paper towels. Sometimes we have one without the others; it gets frustrating when you have to use the restroom and not have any tissue. Also, there have been times where the soap dispenser doesn't work. The cleaning ladies have got to do better. The weather varies a lot in New Orleans and sometimes it may be hot outside and hot inside the dorms as well. I feel as though we should be able to manually change between heat and air, not just depend on the maintenance people to determine it for us.

I moved off campus because of the horrible buildings conditions: leaky ceilings, roaches, mold. It's a waste of money. Apartments are cheaper which is why students who do not have full scholarships often move. The maintenance is horrible, especially in places like the Living Learning Center. There is a mold issue every semester campus-wide in general, and I feel more should be done in terms of maintenance. I lived on campus for 3 years, so I have personal experience with the dormitories. The Bathrooms are always dirty, the microwaves don't work, it's dusty Bathrooms are unsanitary, smell rancid, and often the building is unclean. Disgusting restrooms, AC/Heating terrible, lack of cooking options terrible, MOLD!!!!!!! I don't understand how people live in this place. This is the first experience for most of the young men that arrive at Xavier. This hall and KD should be the top priority amongst the dorms. No wonder statistics show that lot of young men leave after their first semester, they're never in their dorms studying, it's a pig sty, no matter how clean you try to clean it. A lot of the rooms had leaks, bathrooms were nasty and never had toilet paper, especially on the weekends. There have also been complaints about mold It seems like the dorms are the very last thing ever thought of when it comes to budget. The L floods frequently, the air conditioners/heaters often don't work (plus they're shared between four rooms; since when is four people in two one-person rooms a good thing?) and the ceilings drip. This semester, consolidation requests were also frustrating. I was never told of the status of my request and had to call Housing to see what was going on. How is there not a kitchen!!!! !!! It gets nasty in the bathrooms more often! Like, when I shower sometimes, I lowkey still feel dirty when I get out. There was a time this semester where there wasn't hand soap, toilet paper, or paper towels for almost a week! Also, one of the bathrooms is too filthy to use. It's been like that for a while. It's been reported several times, actually. It's still gross as anything. I sometimes wish the air conditioning wasn't centralized. I know there's nothing that can be done about it, but it gets very cold in my room sometimes... There was a time where the bathroom was straight-up infested with flies. They've taken care of it on my floor, but I heard that the buggers went on to other floors... Occasional cockroaches (big ones, too) in the lounge area. Gross. Speaking of the lounge area, our sink is still not fixed! I don't appreciate seeing watered down food in the bathroom sinks! Such an inconvenience... Not always the cleanest. I lived in a roach infested room and nothing was done and no compensation was given until I went downstairs and showed them the evidence of my body being big. There is no consideration for the fact that we pay money to stay in places that are not clean, rats are living in the building, and no one feels the need to fix things In a timely manner. I live in a https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

room with a toilet clogged with feces in it for two weeks before something was done. At that point bacteria was growing and was an unsatisfactory place to live but noting was down to move the students in the room to a place where we would be comfortable. Staff rude, unwilling to extend themselves. Often have no toilet paper, soap, or paper towels in our bathroom. Sanchez is a mess and needs to be replaced. when i was in deporress he was very disrespectful and smart mouthed to students. And then students have gotten away with staying in deporres when they dont even live there! worried about visitors when yall have people living in deporress for free .99 Getting anything fixed takes days, only for it to break again days later. Bathrooms and hallways are disgusting and mold grows everywhere. Bugs everywhere, including in the shower. Thin windows. The quality of the halls are generally "okay" but definitely not worth what we pay for it yearly. There's never any toilet paper and paper towels in the bathroom, and the bathroom isn't cleaned well. I have lived on campus and the KD bathrooms needs a lot of work. As far as maintenance. It was like pulling teeth to get things fixed. It is an old building and it needs more maintenance than others. It is absolutely terrible. We pay too much money to live in places that are infested with insects and rodents and there is a lot of mold. I was sick because I was living in a room with mold and was unaware. Xavier should charge us less to live in places that are as raggedy as these. Bathrooms are dirty and there are little to no paper products in there a majority of the time. Floors in the hallway are dirty. First floor smells like weed. Mold is everywhere. Refilling of supplies in restrooms It's not good and it's not bad. Sometimes, they are on top of an issue, and other times one questions if they even know or care about an issue. Cleaning agency does not do a very good job. Stains all over carpets, not enough large trash cans in public places, they refuse to clean the stairwells. I was told by a resident of KD that there was no toilet paper or paper towels in their bathrooms for over 3 days. Maintenance men know how to do quick fixes and patchwork, but actual contractors are needed for permanent fixes. It takes many days to get work request fulfilled. the residence halls could use A LOT of updating; MODERN STYLE AND CLEANER. Clean the university. The dorms should be bigger and there should be no monitored visitation. We are young

adults. As I said in an earlier comment dorm life is horrible. Its unsanitary and unkept. My toliet sucks and wont flush all the time. New carpet needs to be installed. Some buildings are maintained well. Others, like St. Mike's especially, are obviously being neglected. It seems to me that St. Mike's and KD should be very attractive halls to live in if that is where new students are likely to live. That's one sore spot in trying to sell Xavier to new students. could be better but good Some of the staff members can be very rude and unapproachable. It is difficult to get a private room even if it's not filled to capacity. KD is really filthy and outdated it should be renovated. The bathroom are never clean. The mainteance men work very hard, diligently, and efficiently. I fully respect them and their efforts, but the L needs to be heavily renovated or torn down completely. It is simply not suitable for living. The numerous accounts of mold, roaches, rats, broken ACs, and birds should be evidence enough that changes need to be made. It often smells very bad in the lobby of the living learning center. When I lived on campus the living conditions were horrible.Which is a big turn off for prospective students. I chose not to stay on campus because of how dirty the bathrooms are. Many other students looking for colleges may chose not to come here because the freshman dorms are run down, infested with bugs, and not up to date. The LLC have bugs and it is disgusting!!. A lot of work needs to be done in ALL dorms KD's building is way too old, out of style, and falling apart. To add on, the bathrooms are already dissatisfying and the residents make it no better. If we had better bathrooms maybe they would care more. Workers shouldn't push off things that aren't major in their eyes. I lived on campus prior to moving off campus, and my answer above reflects my dissatisfaction with the overall maintenance of the residence halls. Over the 5 years I was living on campus the maintenance got progressively better with more timely responses. Again, the internet strength is horrible in the rooms themselves. Also, the cleanliness of the hallways/common areas are disgusting. Why don't RAs, who virtually get paid to do homework/sit at the front desk, actually be required to do some cleaning. For the past 3 years, I am disgusted on how the trash will be left for a week and generates a very strong

odor. RAs need to do more work if they are getting paid a salary. Also, go goodness sake, update the Freshman dorm. If you want to increase your retention rate, renovate/tear down St. Michael's Hall. It looks like a prison both inside and outside. The smells and maintenance could be way better I have file for new blinds in the dorm room since the first day of school and still have not received an email saying anythings, when questioning the first the desk all the say is to file a compliant but nothing is being done. It's disgusting with abysmal accommodations. It takes the maintenance staff a long time to resolve issues in the dorm. The interactions have had have been pleasant. It is horrible. The showers do not get clean or the bathrooms. There are never any paper towels and when there is it is broken and it's just a mess. It's terrible. The building is disgusting, literally a huge, mold filled space. The decor isn't welcoming, there's always water leakages, LOTS of mold. If our air conditioners are going to keep leaking like this, why not give us tiled floors? It's disgusting to have your carpet soaked and filled with mold and making your room musky. Since returning from the Christmas break the bathrooms have been filthy. The floors look like they are barely mopped & we rarely ever have toilet paper. KD was not clean enough. St. Mikes is a prison and it should be illegal to make young boys stay in those kinds of conditions. THESE BUILDING ARE OLD AND NEED TO BE REMODLED! LLC HAS A ROACH PROBLEM! AND IT IS NOT BECUASE PEOPLE HAVE FOOD OUT IN THEIR ROOM. Its disgusting. Cant control AC. Uncomfortable The hall is trash in general as with all other dorms on campus. I should be paying $5000+ a semester for Cold water and dirty facilities. Also I feel local students shouldn be considered last if not at all for housing. I also feel that if I request a single room and have the money for it you all need to give it to me. It's nasty. It rains in the elevators on occasion. It's bug infested and Work orders take forever to be completed. 4th floor needs a microwave!!!!! It's nasty The service is bad, when something needs to be done it takes forever to get broken things fixed. My room is falling apart and I put in a work order when we returned and no one has come yet. The bathroom is disgusting and there is mold everywhere. When I was on campus half of each dorm I lived in was always it of service broken or rigged

to work. The bathrooms in St. Michael's Residence Hall is horrifying. I am aware of the responsibility students have to maintain in the bathroom, however, the workers are slipping. The bathroom on the first floor hasn't had soap since November 2015, bugs continue to swarm the showers of all floors, they mop on weekends with dirty water that smells worse. It's terrible. This building is falling apart. It's a hazard in itself. Leaking, mold, mice, it's filthy in the staircases. Someone should actually do something about these things. KD is simply disgusting. There's no reason all of those females should have to share those small restrooms that aren't even regularly maintained...especially on the weekend. That's why I chose to live off campus. There are no cleaning resources over the weekends, which led to previous problems such as there being no toilet paper in the bathroom all weekend, and a girl who vomited on the floor, picked it up herself with paper towel, but the very large area was not really cleaned until Monday. The facilitates does not meet the minimal health standards. The dormitory is unsanitary esp. the restrooms. Once again I feel that the price that I am paying for on-campus living do not match what I am living in. The restrictions and rules for adults are all so too strict, if someone pays over 8,000 a year for a place to call home their should not be a limit to overnight guests or visitors. Think janitors could do a little better The halls stink, and there is always water all over the carpet in the hall ways and some of the rooms. There is sooo much mold in the LLC, due to this problem my mother forced me to move off campus. Because when I went to the doctor they said I had a respiratory infection. That definitely came from being exposed to all you guys mold! Completely dissatisfied! Too much money for so little everything. The walls are paper thin. Lived on campus 2 years. Was not pleased. The bathrooms are terrible. The lack of cleaning is terrible, and sometimes we do not even have toilet paper and paper towel. Also, the laundry room is a constant problem. There needs to be some more time put in to fix this. Living with 400 girls can make things very difficult. The bathrooms are unsanitary Our showers never get hot, they have not exceeded luke warm all year. The community restrooms aren't always stocked with soap, paper towls, and toilet paper. Whoever cleans on my floor, they do a poor job. We barely have any tissues in the bathroom, the paper towels MIGHT have some. The floor is not mopped correctly. There is dirt mixed with water on the floor and the sinks are not cleaned at all.

The bathrooms are not kept clean, and there have been several times when there was no paper towels or toilet paper in the bathroom. None of these buildings are fit to live in. DP is the most "live-able" The Mikes and KD need to be gutted out and remodeled completely. The Living learning center needs to be torn down completely. DP just needs some MAJOR cleaning done to it. All of these building have mold in it. If health inspection people came, i'm sure they would shut these building down. Maintenance is slow to fix things that are important. I find myself approaching one of them and asking can they help me when needed. The building has mold everywhere. There is a leak in the lobby, and the bathrooms are falling apart day by day. St. Mikes is pretty nasty and yeah some people make it nasty but the bathrooms are terrible and it needs a lot of work We live in a girls dorm it should be kept up like a girls dorm, we shouldn't go 3 days without paper towels and toilet paper. Also, some of these rooms don't even have heat so alot of girls have to freeze in their rooms. I lived on campus 1 year and the curfew was a Bit much. Visiting the upper class men dorms I think it's ridiculous that the lady downstairs comes and locks your door when you leave your room for whatever reason. I feel as Though if I left it unlock, I did it for a reason, now I'm locked out and have to come to you to open my door and if there's a Fee that's BS. Not clean in the restroom we never have toilet paper or soap . KD is always cold, the showers barely get hot and are always nasty. Some of these workers do not do their job. Half of them just walk from hall to hall doing nothing or flirting with each other.

Comment (optional) My room has been unlocked twice this semester without my consent. Anybody can walk in, and at night, that is not okay. No privacy. No where to hold private conversations or just be by yourself if you want Mold is a serious health hazard. It should not persists at any university regardless, and I is more than likely a health code violation. People at the front desk cannot be taken seriously. Hardly any security in the dorm. Anything can happen. Lock your doors. Privacy is ok, just the walls in all residence halls are cheap and paper thin (I watched a student drunkenly punch a hole in a wall). If XUPD is called they take at least 15min. to respond Living in bunk beds is horrible, every time one climbs up and down you can feel every step. I feel safe but not like I have privacy. Things are stolen on a daily basis and rooms are constantly broken into. Cameras in the hallway can be easily covered, and they are. I even heard the master key was stolen recently. Honestly, this place reminds me of the projects. Maintainence can be very slow when responding to work orders, and has a habbit of prolonging problems. We have dorm watchers but people's cars tires are getting stolen at night and the people are sleeping at night so anyone can come through. They sleep sometimes and do not wake up when the door needs to be open. It's not safe to be living in a building crawling with bugs because they say they are from the trees... THERES ONLY ONE TREE AND AINT NO WAY SWAY! I feel like there is no reason for the visitation because we are grown adults and deserve to be treated as such. Also, the front desk jobs that adults have can be occupied by students by work study. There is no need to have a job for someone who doesn't need the money. Rules are very strict for a college. I've seen things go down in the dorms, RAs don't care, just get paid to live pretty much. They yelled at us in the beginning of the Fall semester but I ain't heard much since. The RAs come into your room when you are not around for no reason at times. I had 3 knock on my door one time and then when I was approaching the door they opened it. When asked the reason for them coming into my room they said "I did not think anyone was here." Very unprofessional and I feel my privacy is compromised.

There was an incident where my documents went missing in my room last year and i was the only one in the room that semester. The office did nothing to figure out what happened. After that incident, i have really not felt safe in my room. There is no privacy what so ever Dorm mothers are very rude. I PAY TO LIVE HERE, i shouldnt I am so over these people at St. Mikes. I am okay with my roommate because we just coexist. But there are other people who I do not feel safe around. I do not like how these young men constantly break rules and do not seem to possess a lick of common sense about their surroundings. There are people who irk my nerves that I just want to knock around because they play with the wrong people. The doors are open to nearly anyone. There have been times where people off of the street came into the building and into a resident's room. To promote security, the doors should be converted to a key or key card system. I came to college to exercise my skills that I have acquired over a time in preparation be an adult. While I do understand that many rules are for our safety, I should not be treated as a child. There should be another system in place for visitation so we do not feel like our privacy is being invaded or that we are being judged for having company. Why have curfew when the desks workers are asleep after curfew with the door wide open? Young adults are treated like children in middle school with unnecessary rules. Co Ed residence halls should not have regulated visitation hours. I feel safe but I don't feel like I have privacy. Water comes from the wall in the hallways when the shower is running in the bathroom. people are people He halls are very safe, but I'm not sure if you have much privacy. I am an RA so I have a lot of privacy, but the close quarters in which my residents live, suggests privacy is not so easily accesible. Unable to hear fire alarms inside many rooms or announcements You have no privacy!!!!! The RA's get kind of rowdy about visitation. They called out nane of people and their guests last semester when they were coming down the stairs to check out.

Comment (optional) It is way too expensive to eat in the cafe. Most of this food is nasty, has no flavor, is over cooked or under cooked. Some times the chicken isn't cooked all the way. Y'all honestly need to get rid is Sodexo or increase the meal plan to something more appealing and edible sodexo is terrible The food is very good, but often repetitive. And not very appetizing over the weekend. The service in the dining hall, as well as the food is poor. They seem to put no effort in making satisfactory meals. Heck! Even the workers look disgusted and are unfamiliar with the meals that are prepared. STOP SERVING PORK & NASTY FOOD. WE NEED MORE OPTIONS. A SANDWICH LINE.

Food is bland love the subs. wish I could buy a toasted bagel and cream cheese in the morning. do more different food choices. I do know that New Orleans has traditions, but we can do more to give choices to eat. Sodexo dining services needs more variety in meals especially over the weekend hours. There is no big variety. Every meal is repeated every few days it seems like. The dinner options are the worst. The menu in the caf as so much variety. I think most people over look the simple servings line though because it is new, but it's the best option in the caf most of the time Minimal healthy food options. And the healthy options don't appear fresh, they appear recycled. We need a new or upgraded company for services in the cafeteria. The food is digusting especially on the weekends, even the people that work in the cafeteria know this. Also most days and they usually serve the same thing every week. The regular cafeteria food has good options around once every two days. The food is hardly ever cooked and seasoned correctly. I have never so often received cold pink burgers, and that be the best thing served that day. Yet somehow they manage to cook flambos and sub connection food right and its coming out of the same kitchen, that is a rip off. i feel like there trying to force me to pay for the Flambos and sub connect intentional so I spend most of my money eating off campus because the prices are more reasonable and I do no want to buy into the Sodexo scam. I do not go to Sub Connection but I like Jazzman's smoothies and Flambeaux's wings. Just wish that Flambeaux's had more variety of wings and slightly lower prices. I pay with money. I've never eaten from the cafe but freshens is okay. The food was amazing during orientation, but the quality dwindled over time. The school should open better restaurants on Campus. THE CAFE SUCKS. It hurts to walk down the street everyday to the cafe knowing that you'll be starving when you leave Not a lot of variety as far as types of food. Flambeaux is kind of expensive GET RID OF THE PORK LOIN AND BEANS MONDAYS. ... up the french fries all the way to the steak fries, we tasted greatness and now we can't go back as a vegetarian, i would like more options. overall, i would like more healthy options. Need more options I moved off campus because there were no good substitutions for health restricted students. I know the menu like the back of my hand there hasn't been a change since white meat went off the menu for Monday. Stop being cheap and get tulanes sodexo plan

Same items all the time. If your only with one company, the food choices will always be limited. It's time to branch out!!!! We have terrible food. The healthy food is the worst. I wish we had more options for dining on campus. It feels so isolating for someone who lives off-campus, because I know other HBCUs who have contracts with Sodexo and still provide more dining options than we do. Since I don't have a meal plan, I find it hard to eat on campus because sub connection is the only thing that stays open late. Food sucks We need more options we are hard working students...please The food options are horrible. I know that they have improved but they still have a lot to fix. Overall I have heard many complaints about vegetarian options. I know that it is very difficult for those students to eat on-campus and they end up having to spend their own money to eat elsewhere. This should not be the case. The hours (like for Freshens) could be more convenient. Options can use some work and Jazzman's and Sub Connection are limited I am sure the plethora of food choices here at XU, has generated significant revenue for the University. The menu needs to be updated instead of the same thing every week. There are days where the main dish is really good, but then there are days where I can't even stomach it. Diverse choices? To an extent. Variety? Yes, lots of things offered. The taste? No. Especially on weekends. I can't afford to eat out every weekend. Brunch is good but dinner is always a flop. Always. Offer people with extra meal plans to swipe in people who cannot afford to pay for food daily. I would like to see more fresh fruit options at all meals such as: bananas, apples, and oranges. More variety is needed, we eat the same foods week after week. Can we get more rush bucks? Some of the food options are really good but others such as the sub connection don't taste too good. It would be nice to have one real fast food restaurant on campus. Few options for those with seafood allergies Most of the time the cafeteria food is gross. There's not enough choices either. Living on campus you get tired of the usual. Also if you're not a real chef or asian you cant slap soy sauce on noodles and call it lo mein. Pick better tasting food The meal plan does not accommodate many diets. For example, I cannot have anything that has dairy products and some days I'll come to the cafeteria that has pizza, lasagna and the same dry burger that I already had for lunch. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Not enough healthy options. Only choices is the vegetarian bar or salad bar. Update menu choices barely any variety we need actually food places on campus like other schools so unfair!!!! The food here is pretty unappealing. A couple of my friends got sick eating the food here a few times. LET THE ASIAN SELECTION GO. IT'S N A S T Y. It is terrible. There need to be healthier food choices and more variety. There is never any seasoning on anything. Terrible. Need more options... Xavier can do better about the choices of food we have. I can say they have been switching it up with the pizza station, but that is not enough. The food is nasty, the things that is the best is breakfast. The other options need to be more clean. Fruit flys are always in the bread and baked goods making me not want to buy food when I can go off campus Needs better vegetables Need to do better That shit is fucking disgusting Sodexo labels the vegetarian items vegetarian/ vegan. And these are two very different thinks. Often things like rice or beans are quite salty. In my opinion too much oil is used. And overall when the workers are asked "what is this", they reply as if they are not sure all of the time. It's nasty The prices for somethings like the candy or unreasonable and can be bought cheaper other places. Workers here were arguing and cussing in front of the students.. The food here is nasty! Sometimes the servers don't even know what they're serving. The food doesn't have any season and there's no variety. Everyday is turkey. I don't think we have enough healthy options. The only things we have are grill chicken, the salad bar and hummus. I don't mind the rest but we don't have enough options for me to eat a balance "diet". Food is horrible. I can go weeks without eating food in the cafe. I have to spend my money elsewhere be cause the food in unbearable. Not a lot of options in there and its just nasty. I stopped going to cafeteria this semester. I make food from my dorm or eat at my parent's house. I don't think the caf offers healthy options. They're "vegetarian" options always look suspicious. I was tired of gambling whether the food would be good every day. The food gets https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

boring over time and I feel like the chefs just give up after midterms. Dinners are especially the worst meal of the day. The menu has actually been the worst it has ever been Spring 2016 Semester. The selection has been very minimal and terrible for someone who doesn't eat pork or beef. My only options are grilled chicken everyday. Sodexo used to be tolerable but now it is extremely disappointing. The food choices are very limited. I would like to see more variety among fruits, vegetables, and meats. Also, for the sandwhich bar I would like to see more bread variety, and chips added. The food is horrid. I starve myself on a occasion because the options are not healthy whatsoever Please, if I pay for the food, cook like I paid for the food. Cook like you would want someone to cook for you. I starve for days because there is nothing to eat. Its really not humane. You go to Jazzmans and there are gnats on the muffins. Its just gross They need more food options here. The choices of food to eat in the cafe are VERY limited and ridiculous. I know I am only going to get a good meal on Monday and Friday's. The cafe should really reevaluate what they are serving students. The food is inedible some days, especially on the weekend. Full of fats and salt. A poor excuse for a salad bar. The meals do not have flavor or they are nasty and it just needs help. I wish there was more variety and healthier options. I don't have a meal plan I stay off campus but Sodexo is expensive. I got to freshens and get smoothies all the time For freshman orientation the food was amazing, but now the choices have been limited Meal options are terrible. Too high The workers act like they hate their jobs. Not pleasant at all. Jazzman cafe always burns my sandwich and the coffee is way too sweet In need of healthier and more edible food The food here is a joke. The paid po boys are horrible for their price. You guys hiked the prices but didn't do anything with the quality; it's stupid. I wish they had more sandwich meats etc for sub connection There are days where the menu options are good and sometimes it just gets repetitive. There should be at least a week where the caf samples food from all regions of the We really need to new options. The food in the cafe is not always cooked. consider the weekend menus because even the workers admit they just throw stuff together . They options they give us is so disappointing some people refuse to even go in the cafe on the weekends and choose to eat noodles and cereal. I want real food. Staff is great except for cafeteria head they talk to students inappropriately and disrespectful(Scott) The food sucks I do not like Jazzman's or Subconnection personally. I wish we had more general food places, like a chickfala. PLEASE GET MORE OPTIONS!!!! SUBWAY OR STARBUCKS/PJs COFFEE, SMOOTHIE KING WOULD BE MUCH BETTER THAN THESE DRY, HARD SANDWICHES and FAKE MEAT and WEAK COFFEE and FAKE SMOOTHIES You would get more money if you had quality options than these cheap options. and we need to have more options that are open till midnight. at least a marketplace type of place like Loyola. and the Freshens is never open and is too far to get to! The Sub connection and Jazzman's dos not taste good. Staff told students before school got started that the sub connection would taste better than Subway and that Jazzman's would taste better that Starbucks. It did not. The subs were dry and the drinks from Jazzman were not blended. The food is honestly not acceptable sometimes. The rice will be over or undercooked, the meat is barely ever seasoned and when it is there is way too much of it. The workers do not seem to care and it is very upsetting especially because I pay for this food! I could keep my money from the meal plan too! Extremely dissatisfied with dinning. My friend actually saw bugs on the bread when she went into Sub Connection. Extremely dissatisfied with the quality of food and the food choices as well. The cafeteria food has gotten better over the years, but some of the food options need to be reconsidered. There are times when most students don't eat the main meal because it's not appealing or good so the whole cafeteria seems to be eating pizza or a burger. There definitely should be better quality food in the cafeteria. The freshman 15 was real because there is only a few options and they are usually not good. Knowing that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (and sometimes Thursday) have the same menu every week makes me not want to go to lunch. Predictable Friday dinners make me not want to go to dinner. Weekend menus make me not want to go at all. I feel like I'm paying for something I rarely use. I'd feel somewhat better if the online menu was updated regularly so it wasn't a wait-till-you-get-there surprise. Wish they had more healthy options for food. They're vegetarian options aren't all that healthy. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

The food doesn't taste the best... There is no variety. If there's no time to eat in the cafeteria, sub connection is our only choice. Variety has definitely improved over the years. Options have increased, but the food quality could be better. Do not had more options if they will continue to be of poor quality, that's just annoying. Limited selection of food. The staff at the sub shop are also rude to their customers. the food is nasty. there aren't many choices, and most times the meats aren't properly cooked and are still bloody The food never changes and it is very disgusting. They try to add fancy names to the meals but it doesn't cover up the fact that it's the same thing from the previous week. The lines are always long because the works do not move fast enough Lacks flavor. Has been known issues with food poisoning. I'd like less generic foods. I'd like a schedule for the farmers market and for that to happen at least twice a month. They don't take the vegetarian option serious. If you do not eat meat, you will starve. We should not be under a monopoly with Sodexo that is an France based company especially because New Orleans is known for their quality and authenticity of food. With the many local vendors around there is no way we should be giving money to a company who was known to have horse meat and Listeria in their food. Absolutely ridiculous. Model off of the dining services of Tulane and Loyola where Sodexo's food is an option while the students are still open to many local and global vendors. The menu variety has been terrible this entire semester the worst it's ever been. The catfish on Fridays isn't even cooked right food is TERRIBLE. same thing every week. Variety is sparse, especially if you are vegetarian/vegan/pescatarian. You already know what they have based on the day of the week. Limited variety If I came to Louisiana to get the experience I should be experiencing the food as well and not only on Fridays and MI days during Lunch.

How do you feel about the operational hours of Sodexo Dining Services?

Comment (optional) dinner should be extended people have late classes early dinner= me eating more late night snacks= unhealthy... I don't want the staff to have to go home so late. Nothing to eat on the early on the morning during weekends. It's always a rush to the cafe for dinner before 7. Don't nap to long or you'll go to bed hungry if you don't have a car on campus. It should Stay open later. The caf closes at 7.. That's early I need breakfast to go till 10:30 just like McDonalds. They can start preparing lunch while still serving breakfast. Lunch hours are good. Dinner needs to extended till at least 8 They are terrible. There is no consideration for people who have 7:50 am classes I think the breakfast hours should be extended. Also some people have class from 11:00-2:00, so they have nothing to eat. Dinner also lacks in terms of hours. It should be extended to 8:00. Horrible..... Just plain horrible everyone gets hungry again around 9 and the cafe is closed and so are the on campus non cafe options and I just feel like it's something that needs to be done. It needs to be open later at night or have somewhere on campus where we can get food late at night without spending our money. The food is awful and the only decent meals are the catfish and fried chicken. Yet, fried chicken is served only once every two weeks and the catfish hasnt had flavor this entire semester. Dinner hours should be extended and their should be trays available more often. Clean utensils is necessary, many times forks, knives and cups have had trash in them or even lipstick. if you take nothing else here seriously. take this seriously. It is stupid that as a college student i can not get food on campus after 7 pm, and i am not allowed to take food from the cafe. E V E R Y B O D Y feels that way. Fix it. the library shouldnt close at 2:30, when food options are over after 7. that just doesnt make sense. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Closes to early for college students I wake up early so weekend hours are way too late for me. I really appreciate how meals are still offered during breaks, though. Never food past 7 is ridiculous The cafeteria and all other dining services should be open later. There are so many things going on during the day as far as class and meetings that many people have to miss dinner. Should have longer dinner hours for either or both the cafe and jazzman'S/subconnection till at least 9-10pm. Most students stay up late so even if we eat dinner at 7pm when it closes, we'll get hungry again a few hours later. Or have work study students in the cafe. Also, the meal plan should change or at least policies of you leave the cafe then you can't re-enter even if it's to grab water/coffee/fruit. I think it should stay open later. Dinner close so early i was always hungry by 845 The cafe hours should be extended like from 430-11 The cafe hours for dinner I feel are too short and ends early..Maybe extend dinner to 8pm The Breakfast and Lunch schedules are fine, but the dinner schedule needs to be pushed back to at least 8 or 9 due to late studying schedules. No one stops eating after 7 which is an outrageous time to end dinner for growing adults. should close at 8 and open at 5. I frequently find myself getting hungry at night The cafeteria should be open until 8 o'clock. But there should also be more food options on campus. Evening and Friday hours should be extended. Weekend hours should be considered. There should be more flexible hours, or options to access cold foods when the cafeteria is closed, like other schools. Subconnection, flambeaux's and Jazzman's should have longer hours and be open on weekends. Why close at 4 on Friday's? Highly dissatisfied. I really wish they were open on the weekends, because sometimes I just feel like having a sandwich, and don't feel like leaving campus. We need 24 hour eating facility and maybe a fast food restaurant on campus Jazzman's should stay open a little later. Also, the University should consider putting a coffee shop in the entrance to the library that is now used as an art gallery. A lot of major universities (Tulane, LSU, USM, etc) have coffee shops in the lobbies of their libraries. USM has a whole Starbucks in its library. Having access to coffee and refreshments in the library makes long study sessions on campus a lot more enjoyable. Even if I did eat there, I wouldn't know when to. Dining hall closes too early and there are no other cheap available places to eat on campus https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

past 7 pm which means students have to leave campus and spend unnecessary money on food if they miss dinner or go early to avoid missing dinner. I strongly believe that the operational hours should be extended. I think that it is unfair that since I do not have a car on campus, if I get hungry after 7pm then I do not have access to the dining hall. It is a disservice to students like me. I don't agree with the hours of the dining services. Some people will not be able to meet the hours of the cafeteria due to their schedules. It would be better (if possible) to have the cafeteria open through out the day and just the food when it is time for lunch or dinner for example. If that is not possible then maybe extend the hours. as an off campus resident, i dont have a dining plan. it would be nice if there were more reasonable plan offerings (maybe a plan that covered 2 meals a week). also, i get offering a late brunch on weekends, but has anyone considered offering a continental breakfast offering earlier in the day? most people still eat 3 meals on weekends. plus, it would give students who work, or get up early to study etc some form of breakfast - even if the options were just yogurt, prepackaged cereal bowls and a piece of fruit. lastly, now that xavier offers late evening classes, consider extending dinner hours. i know students that have 2 or 3 evening classes back to back and miss dinner. this shouldnt have to be the case, even if all that could be offered was prepackaged sandwiches (as offered at jazzman's), chips, fruit, etc. Should be open later. We get hungry again after 2 hours wish they'd stay open longer or on the weekends.. but they have lives, they don't need to be with us everyday haha. Hours should be extended until 8pm or should open back up for a late meal like other institutions. They should be extended. Some students have night classes and aren't always able to eat in the dining hall. If I pay my money, I should be able to eat when I need to. There is no purpose of a meal plan if I don't always have access to the dining hall. Also, I should be able to take food out freely. Extended hours at night should be implemented potentially just for jazzmans At least one of them should be open 24/7. They should close at 9 or 10. There needs to be a late cafe open on campus. Why don't we allow other vendors open a business on campus? Do people really eat dinner between the hours of 5pm and 7pm in normal places? 6pm to 8pm would be better hours. I feel as though brunch should be extended a little for those who attend the campus chapel on Sunday. I would like breakfast to open easier at least for 7AM instead of 7:30AM. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

There need to be more accessible hours for the cafe. The fact that it closes at 7pm when people have class until 8:30pm is outrageous! There should be longer hours to accommodate those who do NOT want to eat at 4:30 in the afternoon! Also on the weekends the staff stops cooking food around 6:30pm or 6:45pm but the cafe is open until 7:00pm! What are we suppose to eat if they don't make food the last 30 mins of dinner. A lot of time people aren't used to eating dinner so early and then when we do, we don't have anything to eat when we are really hungry. Late night caf should be an option. Hours should be extended (weekdays): Breakfast 7:30-10 Lunch 11:30-3 Dinner 4:30-8:30 Need more flexible hours !!! Should be open always. Not suitable to everyone's schedule. Sometimes have to go without a meal because of hours When I did stay on campus I was very dissatisfied. Monday through Friday, I am okay with their breakfast and lunch times. I feel that Dinner needs to be a little longer, 8:00 at the least. It's nice that the shops stay open pretty late. Open earlier for breakfast It should be open longer, especially breakfast and dinner Realize that we're college students and get hungry late at night. SubConnection should stay open til at least 8 or 9 The hours are okay, but after 7pm theres nowhere to eat on campus. His is a problem for students with late classes. Weekend hours could also be better. Offering breakfast earlier or even staying open until 2pm would be very helpful. There should be a option in which students can go to the caf to grab a snack in the middle of the day if their schedule conflicts with the time of lunch so that they won't have to wait until dinner to eat or have to spend money at subconnect or jazzmines. Should be open all day. As a college student I don't have much money on me and tend to get hungry more than just three times a day. The caf needs to be open all day and have constant food. Longer hours needed!! They close way to early. Dinner is over at 7 and some students don't get out of class until 8:30 leaving them to have to spend money that they may not have on fast food Hours could be better. Students get hungry later at night, especially while studying, and it isn't feasible to go off-campus by yourself at night when you have no car nor extra money to provide a tip for a delivery guy. Maybe you can have a student-run restaurant for late night hours. Who wants to eat dinner from 5-7? We are students! We have things to do around that time! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

This is a college campus, not a geriatrics home. Push dinner back to at least 7-9pm. I'd like dinner to be longer or start later. Need to be open later, most people don't even eat dinner until 7 and it's over at 7. Close extremely too early on weekdays and weekend hours are extremely short as well Dining hall should be opened later. The menus are RIDICULOUS and the quality of the food matches. Students should be allowed to change meal plans, why have 19 meals a week when you barely eat due to the lack of quality in the food. If I HAVE CLASSES scheduled from 11-2 on MWF I will not eat. You have to schedule classes around lunch and its not worth it. It closes to early too. Though it still sucks Dinner should go on for much longer. It's unfair to have dinner end at 7, because I tend to study a lot, and late, so I get hungry. Hours needs to be longer I was dissatisfied with the hours when I had a meal plan last year With cafeteria hours shortened during the weekend, I would like to have the options of subs, or food from Flambeaux's. ALL DAY STOP IT WITH THESE DESIGNATED HOURS ITS 2016 Weekend hours should be longer. Don't like how dinner ends early Food should be served for longer hours. On the weekends there should be continental breakfast and then a real breakfast. This serves the people who wake up early as well as the people who sleeps in. Dinner close too early. Some of us don't have money to order food when we got hungry 2-3 hours after leaving dinner. I feel like lunch should last longer We should really have a longer lunch period, at least until 2:30 for those students who have lab classes that run through lunch. And a lot of students wish that dinner ran longer or we had more options after 7 because eating at 4:30-6 you're definitely going to get hungry again around 8,9,10 and not everyone has the means to go out and buy food every time they get hungry. dinner should Be longer would be beneficial if open later hours I wish brunch was until 2 pm Everyone doesn't eat dinner between 4-7 therefore the cafe should stay open longer. You're forcing the students to spend money they don't have to by closing at 7

Need to be increased Dinner ends at 7:00, it should be extended; or extend the hours of jazman's/sodexo to at least 10:00 Extremely disappointing dinner hours, often leading students to have to buy fast food/restaurant options. 5 to 7 PM is a ridiculously early and short time to eat dinner. Very dissatisfied!!!! Could be open longer, but people want to go home; which I can understand. I have missed dinner so many times because it is so early! People have classes, meetings, jobs from 4-7 so they miss dinner regularly. Sodexo should have extended hours or maybe 'fourth meal' hours. It doesn't make sense for the cafeteria to close at 7 when most students stay up to at least 1am studying, that's six hours without eating a meal. Their should be a late night food spot on campus for students.

food. The only reason I eat in the cafeteria is because I would starve. I've found multiple times hair and bugs in my food and when I talked to the man over the cafeteria all he could say was, "Can I get you a smoothie?" Disgusting. Food is never up to par and not that many options that I would like to see Extended weekend hours. Need Better Menu Options! Get Rid of the wannabe "Asian Cuisines" that nobody wants to eat.... The cafe isn't good it's terrible. There's always gnats flying. I don't want to eat and swat. The food could definitely be better! The price is too much for so little options. Only because i can not afford to buy every meal from somewhere else. Should take better quality in the food they serve and prepare. The food is horrible I spend money on groceries like I don't have a meal plan I don't eat in the cafeteria on the weekends because the food options are terrible. Most of the time the food is horrible. I wish there were more options in salad dressings and toppings. Barbecue sauce and lactose free items At times the food needs more favor. Also I would like to see different food items being made items. I think that the school should change some things up like on Mondays we don't need to have red beans all the time something different would be nice. On the weekends for dinner the food needs much improvement. In need of more options There is no real variety. It's almost the same thing everyday. Try to see what new everyday, but I'm always dissatisfied. Please more fresh fruit Food is terrible. I refuse to waste my time and energy by eating the distasteful food in the cafe. I only go when someone else pays for it honestly or if it's something for SASO or some type of organization Food could always be better. The food is unseasoned and bland. Most of the time tastes terrible Dislike the quality of the food and not enough fresh fruits and vegetables offered as well as healthy cooked vegetables. The cafe? Needs some work. I enjoy the omelets but they need new food choices for

breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The international section is NOT international. The pizza section is good with their new healthy choices and creative dishes. I wish we can get a bit of the vegan area with the main dish area as well. Overall, I want to see more diversity with the International Area. We need better food options The food is awful; practically inedible. Knats, they have bland food (personal preference), the plates and cups and silverware are never fully clean Breakfast is the best meal of the day and as the day progresses the food gets worse When I did stay on campus, after freshman year I ate off campus more than on I have cut down my meals in the caf because I am eating healthier (no beef/pork, very little shellfish). It is unfortunate that I paid for food that is unhealthy for me to eat. When resided on campus, hardly ever ate in caf. I purchased a meal plan and now it doesnt even work this semester... It's gross The food is nasty and I would rather pay to eat off campus. I use to eat there everyday, but now the food is the same and annoying and hardly warm so I prefer to walk to Popeyes or Canes. It needs to be open later. Dinner 7-9 Unfortunately I have to eat in the cafeteria everyday. If there was a better already paid option I would running in the other direction. Food is gross. Food is disgusting. We eat more than apples and oranges thank you very much. Food has zero nutritional values. except when its trash. because they do have extremely trash day I wish I did not have too because that food is so not okay. Dinner is horrid. I don't even understand how the manager allows for such food to be prepared and served. Lunch is decent. Though, I feel that lunch's decency is due to more faculty and staff paying to eat at that time. I don't have a meal plan but I would not mind eating on campus if the food didn't look like cooked garbage. The food is often terrible. The cooks do NOT know how to properly cook pasta. Every pasta dish that comes with a sauce is watered down, and the pasta is either hard and under cooked, soggy, or both. Furthermore, the bagels are never fresh. They are always stale and dry. The pizza tastse horrible. With the crust being store-bought, I'm confused as to why it's always soggy and limp, or burnt and crunchy. I would however like to see the dessert pizza https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

make a comeback. It's one of the few items I wouldn't mind eating. Also, the "international" option are not international. They are just poorly imitated dishes. I would like to see actual perfessionals executing what is suppose to be international cuisines. The fish is over cooked! Need more options overall Terrible food, service (majority of workers have an attitude), and hours For the love of GOD do something. Please branch out. We, as students, who have no other choice but to eat this every day, need to have more variety. Sodexo is only good some of the times. I understand that the cooks can't season the food due to allergies, and Xavier doesn't want to get sued. However, sometimes they food literally has absolutely no taste at all. Somehow, someway, the food natural flavors were extracted from the food. Not implying that it was intentional, but that's just unacceptable. Please try to branch out to other food companies, so that the menu isn't so predictable, I promise, this would make students so much happier. I only eat lunch and sometimes breakfast, not dinner. I eat breakfast every day, rarely lunch, and try to go to dinner. When I don't eat it's usually because I don't like the food taste or choice. THE FOOD IS NASTY. Variety is very limited Sadly, this is true. I only really eat breakfast bc its the only nice meal the cafe actually does right Please add flavor please thoroughly cook the food please Only at lunch. Dinner is super inconsistent I eat in the cafeteria for breakfast and sometimes lunch for dinner I normally eat in my room or go out somewhere

Comment (optional) The tray return is always disgusting. Why do we use the tray return on the days when we use plastic utensils and plates? I am unsure why we don't have trays, at least, available to us sometimes. It is inconveniencing. Do they deep clean them all for a week? I actually don't mind using plastic utensils and paper cups. It's a lot cleaner. Sometimes, I get a cup and there's still residue in it. I know someone who told me she got a cup that still had lipstick on it!! A new dishwasher is needed Can we dry those plates and cups some? Its so disgusting when I am about to eat and my hands get soaked by them before I even get my food. wash yo cups more The handful of times I've gone into the cafe, the appearance/cleanliness could have been better. Instead of staff being so concerned about hungry students "stealing" food they have already paid for in their tutition meal plan, providing fresher food and healthier options would better serve all involved. If Xavier prides themselves on choosing the best of the best, there's no reason why the staff doesn't believe of those occupying their lunch halls. Personally, I'm a little annoyed with the use of plastic in the dining hall. The cafeteria plates and silver ware are usually dirty or wet. I prefer use of paper plates and plastic cultery. The room where you dispose of trash and plates has an awful smell. They're always cleaning. The cleanliness is the biggest issue for me. The dining hall maintenance crew does an amazing job of making sure that the tables are clean, and the napkins are always full, but the cups, plates, and utensils seem to consistently be dirty. My family is in the restaurant, deli, and corner store business, so I'm very educated about how clean things really need to be. When there's still residue on the plates and etc, it's because the dishwasher is too full. Sometimes I'm afraid to eat, because I have an extremely sensitive stomach and I can't risk getting sick. The salt and pepper shakers be hella low. Sometimes it is good sometimes it's bad. It always smells like dirty mop water and dirty dish water. The cups are never clean and always look dirty. Once I grabbed a glass and filled it with my drink, I sat down and as I was about to drink found a detailed lipstick mark on the glass. Nasty. Floors are dirty. Silverware, plates, cups, and tables are dirty. The Dining hall is consistently dirty. The plates and bowls are typically covered in old food that https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

didn't get washed away during cleaning and the trays are always soaking wet with a foul smell. With the trays being wet, it's hard to hold on to them properly, which causes most of the incidents of dropped trays. Also, the floor is disgusting. It seems that the floors are never mopped with clean water. Every time I eat in the cafe, there is always black residue under my chair and table. Also, the tables are often wobbly and unstable to eat on. It would be more clean to use paper cups and utensils. The plastic cups are always dirty and wet, seems unsanitary Gnats flying EVERYWHERE over the food!! It is alright It hits and misses Dishes are dirty! Silverware dirty; a week of dirty cups! They should really do better at cleaning the dishes I do not understand how your dishwasher can work at some times, but not other. I don't have a problem with the plastic, but when I want to carry multiple items at one time I can't because there are no trays. Sometimes even when the dishwasher is working, the dishes still come out dirty. The silverware, plates, and bowls are disgusting. They were not this bad my freshmen year, so I do not understand what is going on. Id prefer paper products over dirty bowls, utensils, and cups anyday. Maybe the dishwasher needs repair, idk Im trying to offer explanations. The food is unpredictable and typically displeasing for Dishes need to be washed with SOAP. I sometimes get mad when they do not have the trays and end up getting paper plates sometimes. I am not mad about the paper plates and plastic utensils, but if I want to get a lot of food, I would at least want to have a tray to hold everything. Sometimes I would get a fork with food left on it Sometime there are tiny nets food remains are left on utensils and dishes Not sanitary, dirty dishes, knats The cups are dirty. I can't use the restroom or shower because of how dirty it is there is either poop in the toilet or hair and mold in the shower The dining hall has NATS AND FLIES EVERYWHERE. Every other day the dish washer breaks down and we have to eat off of paper plates and plastic utensils. Dishes are often times not clean. Occasionally there are gnats and hair in the food. Just stick to plastic utensils could be better https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

They do their best to clean tables and spills. Because of the location, though, flies get in pretty often. There are flies in the cafe. The hall itself is nice, the utensils aren't. I often get dirty plates. I asked on man if he could give me another plate because that one was dirty and he said I would be eating off of it anyway and gave me the food. I honestly prefer the plastic plates because I know they are clean. can do much better NOT CLEAN AND IT STINKS IN THE TRAY RETURN!!! get some water that isn't from the tap Could improve in washing cups and silverware. Clean dining area, however not sure about the conditions of the kitchens The trays are sopping wet and the utensils are sometimes unclean. Cups are always dirty so I always drink out of the coffee cups. Silverware is always dirty. There has been improvement but I have noticed that there is sometimes a problem with gnats in the cafeteria. Nat are everywhere!! There are gnats and the dishes and silverware still have food on them too often. There have been multiple times I've found hair in my food, as well. Thy clean the table while you eat with the same disgusting rag they've used for the last two hours. No thank you. I find things in my food like hair an eyelashes sometimes and I once found a gnat Sometimes the dishes, especially the cups, are dirty. The dishes & utensils are often dirty. Cafeteria staff has alerted me that they urgently need a new dish washer but the request has not been fulfilled. The floors still have food and dirt on them from yesterday when I go in there for breakfast. No one sweeps or mops the floors. One time at breakfast, I saw a cup full of soda, probably from the day before, just sitting around. Dining hall cleanliness has been poor lately. Lots of flies and knats It could be better, but I am able to deal with it. The dishes in the cafe are always still a bit dirty. It's very cleaned in there from the few times I have gone The plastic cups and bowls are never clean The mats should not be allowed to have so much water on them. They begin to smell sour.

They are rude and always have attitudes. all the women greet me with the warmest smiles Professors need to act more professional! When I lived on campus, the staff was always nice. I have no complaints towards them. I like how most of the staff is always friendly with the students. They have attitudes, but after four years you become jaded. Some of the workers have nasty attitudes towards students while serving the food. Some staff are rude Staff members can be moody at times and not listen to your food request. Probably the only people on campus that treat the students well are the dining hall workers. Some staff are very pleasant while others seem to care less if we eat or not. Some of the staff can be rude and unwelcoming. Sometimes the serving staff is very rude. The staff are niceish, but Mr. Price has his days where he is extremely nasty and days when he is pleasant. His pleasant days usually fall on the days someone important is in the cafe or evaluating it.

I have had issues in the past with some of the workers. One lady has talked to me in an unpleasant manner and told me I could not make a waffle with the waffle maker during breakfast time. They are rude and dirty. Scott Price is the rudest person and he has a cafeteria staff behind him that is just as rude and nasty. Have told the "manager" if the cafe multiple times about food and menu choices. Nothing have been done. You should remove the meal plan from people's housing because it's not worth paying to eat in the cafe. Many of the staff are respectful, but there are also some pretty rude people. The Xavier Way! Slow, rude and miserable. Scott Price has been a lot nicer and courteous. Attitudes for what? I feel like I should not pay my money to the school for them to have attitudes and be rude. The lightskin with the glasses always has an attitude Most of the workers have pleasant attitudes. I hate the comment The servers have. I just need you to give me my food not comment on a conversation I was having with a colleuge. They could be more professional with the students. some of them are nice some of them are really rude Sometimes the workers are nice and friendly and sometimes their not Mrs. Yolanda and Mrs. Pat are amazing and kind hearted. Very sweet people. And the nice woman that does the grill station (she gives us all the grilled chicken) They're rude. Everyone's great except for the people in charge (Scott) Service is poor. Some are nice, and others just always have an attitude. Sodexo employees are often rude and act as if they do not want to be doing their job.

Comment (optional) Could be better. Sodexo is horrible. The food is oversalted and unhealthy. Ramen noodles have more flavor. Either change the food or stop telling us how we're "eating like a local". Im not too picky but sometimes the meals are too generic. That being said, I know they can't cook like my mama. They could do a better job with cleanliness. Staff is lazy I feel dissatisfied with the customer service of the dining service because they have served me pork but saying it was turkey or chicken twice. I think that is very inconsiderate because I have not eaten pork for years. The food is difficult to digest. The employees in jazzman and the sandwich shop are always so busy chatting about drama that it interferes with their work. I just want a sandwich and I sucks that it takes FOREVER because there is no sense of urgency They are really nice and I respect each of them. Sodexo Dining is awful. I'd rather just skip the meal than continue to eat bland, cold food three times a day. They are doing better, but there's work to be done. When we ask for the car to be better, that did not mean get more options, that meant cook the food better. Sometimes the chicken isn't all the way done. They need to go back to the old cornbread. Also, dinner does not need to a different type of cutlet every other night. turkey cutlet, spicy turkey cutlet, breaded cutlet. Dinner is nasty 80% of the time especially on weekends. Also, dinner closes too early and is inconvenient for students who work or for students who have to stay up late to do work. We should be allowed to take to go boxes and eat dinner in the cafe Food is average. The romaine makes me sick so I have few healthy options I repeat, the menu selection needs to be reevaluated. Immediately.

Cafeteria hours should be more flexible and more food options should be available. Also, I should be able to pick what meal plan I like. Just because I live on campus does not mean I will be eating all, if any of my meals in the cafeteria. If I only want to have 10 swipes a week, but more rushbucks, then I should be able to adjust my meal plan for my needs. Variety and better preparation of food is much needed! Please get out the contract with Sodexo and offer other meal options such as chick fil a at Jazzmans, candy is $1.50 and a cup of grapes is $4. That seems like it's not promoting student health. Please add flavor please thoroughly cook the food please Xavier can do better. Can we have some name brand fast food? They could be nicer, but maybe they are just tired. The food needs a lot of work. I hate it. Bad experience. More options would be nice To be frank, the weekend food is always bad. ALWAYS bad. More fruit options would be nice as well. The food is sad. Some days I walk in the lunchroom and walk right back out and drive to a fast-food place. It would be nice to see more options around on campus. Staff is great, but the lack of options make things difficult. When I did live on campus I only ate on Wednesdays and Fridays.

They should be more visible on campus, engaging, and should seem more willing to help if one needs their assistance. Sometimes they don't show up when you call them late at night XUPD is not helpful at all. I don't interact with them enough to know. No personal experiences... They are not using their job position to the fullest. They extremely nosey They don't really do much. Whom ever the guy is that's bald and short idk his name, but he has a sarcastic mouth. I respect my elders but this particular "officer" I don't care for but other then that I feel like they are ok Response time is far too long Not my favorite people on campus. Never really look like they are working, except that one time my freshman year they stopped me from taking a banana out of the cafeteria. On the other hand when my car battery died and I asked them for a jumper cable, none of them could assist me. The women are nice but the men tend to me borderline creepy. Or they seem extremely bothered when you have a problem as if it's not their job to do that. FALSE. They're the complete opposite. They were rude when I purchased my parking sticker. Dont do anything We asked an officer to drive us to our campus w/o calling and he gladly help The bald officer is really rude and I think he makes up rules about closing times.. Xavier is apparently a tobacco free campus bit I see officers smoke... And even students. It always smells of weed in the dorms, and terrance. They need to check rooms. Not only that but there's always a dude skateboaring in front of the UC even tho they banned that. I called because my car needed a jump and they could not jump my car when I was on campus. It was dark, and they didn't even offer to come sit with me until help arrived. My encounters with the police department have been negative as well. They are rude when I go in the office to get my parking sticker and act like they would rather be anywhere but there. All of the XUPD do an amazing job at making themselves visible and accessible to students. Each year during organization they create a sense of security for us students. Just letting us know that they are here is indicative of an effective job well done. Reiterating to students that our safety is a priority, and encouraging us to contact them if we ever have a safety related problem, envelopes the university in a buffer of security XUPD don't do nothing but give boots and ride around wasting gas https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

They're nice. DISSATISFIED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No professionalism, not courteous nor helpful except mr. Maurice. All of them are creeps and need to mind their business and find real stuff to worry about instead of running around booting these pharmacy students cars who are tired of having poor parking options that require long walks in extreme conditions. Or we need a shuttle/ long golf cart that goes back and forth from the back parking lot to the pharmacy building. there needs to be a shuttle in general. Great they play around at times. But they get their word done. They ride past you in the rain and would not give you a ride. They take a long time to come to you when you request transport at night I have felt very safe on campus and respected by the police. They are very rude when I come in just to ask for directions. Xupd has an opportunity to grow in their professionalism Really... I personally love XUPD, but Im an RA and I have a different experience. My residents however, have stated that they are very rude and unpleasant to them. Sometimes XUPD is not helpful. Most of the time they are. Just riding around or sitting in cars. Sleep or on their phone etc. The people who work in the office are very unfriendly & are very snappy. Even when my car would not start, & I was stranded with no one close enough to come help me they could have cared less. They have the chargers for no reason really I love XUPD They are nice people who will help if you just talk to em. Terrible just rides around in the new chargers getting in people's business and booting cars all day. Extremely unprofessional and really rude. Just give it up. I never see XUPD. They are often times to casual. They have an attitude anytime they call. Good for giving their friends rides. The XUPD are only good at enforcing parking and giving boots. This is probably the most rude people I have ever encountered in life. They are only here to boot cars and sleep in their cars in the cut. I have seen them in mcdonalds parking lot, in the

marquis apartment parking lot, and behind the school at 2 in the morning (have pictures to prove it). I have asked for a ride before and one lady acted like we were wasting her time (we were going to the convocation center). The male cops are creepy and lurk on females. One time my friends car was hit in the parking lot and it took 2 hours just for them to get there and tell us that the real cops (NOPD) had to come there and write up a report. They treat some students better than others by letting them slide just because they speak to them everyday. I really could go on for days about them but I highly doubt this is going to be read anyways. Xavier likes students to FEEL like they have a voice. They are funny, but that is pretty much it. Lazy and rude. The bald head man is a pervert! Always flirting with the students. What do they do, drive around in their cars all day. Also, hire people who are willing to work and look like they can operate in physical activity. I question some of these "security officers" The men acan be inappropriate at times. Most of them are super rude. All they do is give out tickets & boot people. I mean, parking spots are limited (despite the monument being built by the library which would've been perfect for a parking lot). They could cut some slack. WE DONT HAVE ANYWHERE TO PARK TO BEGIN WITH...NOW WE'RE BEING BOOTED FOR GOING TO CLASS? Rude One time dropped keys in canal asked what I should do and they responded "iderno" and walked away

and duck off till its time to clock out. There is a difference between 'feeling' safe and 'being' safe. I do not feel safe with them on campus because all they do is hang in their cars, drive around, give boots, and talk to people at the front desk of the dormitories. There have been more negative encounters with the campus security than I can name on this thread. From booting students to yelling at students to be "quiet" during finals week in rhe library or escorting them out cause they have food (when let's keep in mind that we all need food to fuel our brains and no one is just gonna leave trash on the table someone else to clean up behind them) it's all so counter productive in the effort of aiding in the success of the students. We don't need to be policed as students, we need to be protected. Can't save I have felt unsafe on campus. But I think that has to do more with the Nuns prayer. I feel like if I was in actual danger, telling them wouldn't do anything. They're more concerned with driving these flashy new chargers and booting cars to pay for the gas in the fancy new chargers to drive to places like the marquis apartments and McDonald's than creating a safe atmosphere campus wide. I laugh at XUPD I am a male student, and I feel as though my safety is as paramount of a concern, as if I was a female student. There is an expectation of males in society to appear as the bravest of the genders. Through awareness campaigns, watching news broadcasts, and researching crime statistics, I am now cognizant of the fact that males are victims too. I think the XUPD knows this also, and they do am amazing, effective job at shielding us from the horrific violence that happens in neighborhoods proximal to XU. As a male, and as a student in general I have absolutely no complaints or reservations with the way XUPD does their job. They are an effective team. I know this because my father is also police officer. To serve and protect the public take a lot of courage and bravery. XUPD exhibits these qualities on a daily basis. They provide an overall driving around campus. I don't really see them around, save the occasional police car on patrol... Blue security phones across the canal were broken way too long. They have anger issues. They do absolutely nothing. I could better protect myself being 5'4, 123 ibs with no gun. I have late classes and I very rarely see them circulate around campus. I feel safe except when crossing Washington. I think it doesn't make sense that the campus police are for safety, but they don't tend to provide rides for students back and forth through campus at night. I feel safe when I see their car but I don't always see them working. No really, but that's probably because nothing really happens at Xavier.

XUPD does not make me feel safe. I actually feel safer when they're not around because they tend to harass students and speak harshly, as if we are still children. NO! They constantly ask me questions like I don't belong here, a young black man at a Black, Catholic Institution. Definitely not! Seen a police office call one of the female cops a Bitch and that's when I knew XUPD is not together and is a joke basically. I have class at night. I don't see them to often but I'm not scared either. So it doesn't really matter to me. Never need them. I'd call 911 first. I don't care what anyone says, Xavier is one of the safest canpuses I've visited and stayed on. When I had to wake up and walk to the UC at 5am, I saw a very faithful nun in he Music Department walking the entire campus and praying over the campus every morning. I believe her prayers keep Xavier safe. Also XUPD patrol the campus more than the cops at other campuses. Seems like anyone can come onto campus The physical condition (or lack there of) of the officers is a bit concerning. As well as the constant cell phone usage. They do the bare minimum. A little bit most of them are on there phones or ducked off in their new chargers sleeping somewhere I never actually see them in person on campus, just riding around. They are really mean to the poor skateboarding kids I'm not okay with the strange, flirtatious stares we girls receive from some of the male officers. I do not feel safe around them all the time since they make me feel uncomfortable in that way. Other than that they seem to really want to protect students. Not when my friend got her tires stolen... NONE whatsoever They don't really serve a purpose but drive around in cars all day wasting gas. People cars are not safe and police officers sleeping in cars are not going to help They do not really do much but lurk around. They are always sitting down I don't see much protection to me.Also our campus is too small to have as many police officers on payroll as we do. Sometimes I worry about my car since there has been multiple incidents where students have gotten there tires stolen from their cars.

Comment (optional) n/a It's ridiculous, I feel like we should be able to evaluate them like we do our professors I just think the priorities are messed up and the attitudes of the police here are messed up. There shouldnt be a reason that a police officer has to scream at the top of her lungs in the library to get a floor quiet or to tell students to put food away while there could be other things around campus to worry about. Xavier needs to just reevaluate these police officers and realize we are not children and they are not my parents. if i wanted to be treated like a child i would be in houston living at home with them. Rude. They are extremely rude and treat you as if you're guilty. This one day during finals a Xupd officer was screaming and the whole library heard her. Not effective at keeping the library quiet at all very difficult to get a hold of the person you need to talk to Ex. financial aid, cashier office. admin. staff, financial advisor Never asked them for anything because the give off bad vibes. Don't understand why XUPD needed or had a budget for new cars, last time I checked they weren't involved in any high speed chases. I feel that all XUPD do is put boots on people's cars with no warning! I am extremely fed up with how the City of New Orleans involuntarily comes on campus and gives people parking violations for the littlest things. I feel that it should start with a warning. They are never on time for anything and if I had an emergency or if someone was trying to kill or kidnap me, Id probably die or be kidnapped for the slowness of their responses. They must do better. They dont always respond when you call them. The Xavier University of Louisiana Police Department is a disgrace. They are exceedingly rude, belittling, and completely oblivious tobtheir own policies. They are nothing but a bunch of bullies and con artists. Their entire staff of their department needs to be redone. horrible. They don't really like to give people rides even late nights from the library. Always have a problem when you ask them to do something. Also is always on their phones and not policing like they should

Optional: As a paying customer, what insights/advice do you offer the administration in its efforts to boost student recruitment and retention? n/a Communicate better with each other. Know what's going on and how to properly instruct students and answer questions. Be polite and don't treat us like we're stupid. Send representatives of the school to high schools not just in the state but around the country. The only reason more students don't come to Xavier is because they do not know it exists. Publicize the school, create relationships with other HBCUs. A better variety for the meal plan. Definitely mindfulness of some people's financial stance and more respect. The only thing I have a slight problem is when it come to fiscal services, financial aid, accountants. Etc. I feel as though they need to communicate with Students more when it comes to their financial situations. But also let student know where they stand before it time to take finals or register. 1. Better Food in the Dining Hall 2. Improving the Dorms (New dormitory - how can you house new students if there is barely room in the residence halls?) 3. Reduce the amount of Theology Hours Increase the livelihood and excitement of campus. More sports? Organization and efficiency needs to be improved during the admissions process. Staff need to be mindful of their lack of professionalism or follow through when being asked questions. The callback window should be lessened, guaranteeing students a chance for w follow up. Give the students what they want, not what will make the university "look good" Letting us be youth in 2016!!! Like I can't stress it enough. Let us live our college experience like we want without all the uppityness. Y'all are so worried about the image, but by worrying about the image Xavier is seen as boring and unattractive. If I wasn't pre med I probably wouldn't be here because I can get a Degree with a better campus life. I wish that housing wasn't so expensive with piss-poor living conditions. I am okay with tuition being the way it is, but administration has to do better with housing. Better cafeteria food, friendly workers, cameras all throughout campus other than just dorms, we need cameras in the parking lots since tires and bikes and other belongings of students are being stolen also we need more parking for commuters it is totally unfair that they have to

walk so far especially in conditioned weather. There should be an alternative food choice for the weekend. Very few places deliver onto the Xavier campus. Transportation; I rarely leave campus outside of walking distance (4 miles) because it is very expensive to use an Uber, and I do not yet know the bus route. Financial Aid Notices; be incredibly direct. I did early registration for the Spring Semester in November, therefore I did not read the later emails for regular registration. Due to my belief that I was already registered, my classes were posted on Bannerweb, and that Bannerweb stated that I had No FInancial Holds, I was unprepared for my classes to be taken away from me while I was in Michigan because my mother did not pay a deposit, which is by definition a financial hold, and should have been posted as such. Remodel the Freshman dorms and go into business with different food companies(ex. Chicfil-la). More parking lots for commuter students near the main academic buildings would also be nice. 24 hour visitation and no curfew would definitely boost the retention rates because as students we are in college and now adults so we would like to be treated as adults and not children. Another option might be to add another scholarship program through Xavier. Since Xavier is expensive for some and they can't maintain a 3.3 GPA to keep their full ride scholarship it can be an option to give partial scholarship if they are able to maintain at least above a 3.0 as do other schools. Probably bringing back different sports teams, like a baseball and football team, would boost school spirit and student retention because they'd have something to look forward to besides basketball. Also, it would raise the male enrollment on campus. Lower costs and get rid of the pretentious, disrespectful people in Financial Aid. Fix the food. And the living situation for freshman males is more than enough to make you want to transfer. get better faculty in fiscal services and the like. Interacting with them is a pain and annoying. Answers are never answered, and only more questions arise. Please renovate the buildings that need repairs and give us healthier and better food. Thank you Give all majors the same attention. The Chemistry and Biology majors have clubs, fairs to help find jobs, forums, and research opportunities. I have never seen opportunities presenting themselves to music/art majors like the science. ~No visitation ~No curfew ~Library open longer than 2am What is the big deal about having a snack in the library? When I am studying and do not have time to eat, I would like to eat my granola bar or bag of chips. Is that so bad? I do not study at Xavier outside of class because I was getting hounded by the staff there. Not sure what his name is, but he is a big African American guy that usually sits at the desk right when I walk in the door. I carry my lunch bag w me most days, and he would literally walk up to me and ask

me if I am planning to eat it in the library? I told him no because I just finish eating it, but I'm just carrying it. He then comes back to me while I was sitting and studying, peeked his head through the studying room, and said "are you eating in here?" NO, I am not. Can you please stop harassing me about it already because this is getting old? You make me not want to come back to the library ever if I do not have to. Instead, I make my trip to Loyola library to study all the time because they are so easy going and treat us like adults. We can eat in there all we want, and pick up after ourselves. I am at the point right now where I do not want to affiliate myself with any more staff members or professors if they continue to belittle us as students. I feel like the staffs/professors should be our role models and someone we look up to, but I have not been feeling that way about most professors/staff thus far. Really offer more fun activities. Update the dorms and the internet connection. PUNCTUALITY AND TECHNOLOGY UPDATES. 1) transcript requests should be electronically delivered 2) it's SHOULD NOT take over 6 MONTHS to be cleared for a degree that I completed all of the requirements for IN AUGUST. Please update the campus, offer more food options, and improve the roads. Every other college in New Orleans (UNO, Loyola,Tulane, even Delgado) has a campus that is levels above Xavier's. I truly feel that Xavier has more potential than half of the schools mentioned! On-campus living conditions need to be improved. There also needs to be things for students to do on campus during the week nights and especially the weekends. Students who have maintained the required GPA, but did not enter with a good scholarship ($5,000 or less a year) should be able to qualify for more scholarship assistance after their first year. Listen to the students. All tradition isn't good tradition. Students want to be where the feel welcomed and comfortable. Xavier is ONLY tolerated for academia reasons. 1. Increase and more heavily promote greek life 2. Do not focus primarily on the sciences! 3. Change visitation policies and improve housing 4. Offer a better variety of meal plan options, for commuters and on camous residents 5. Charge administrators with being more liberal in approving student events and activities. 6. IMPROVE WIFI and CAFE 7. Get rid of stubborn, fake, brown-nosing, callous, dishonest, and uncaring administrators in Housing, student services, student affairs, and all other student serving areas. 8. START SERVING THE CURRENT STUDENTS MORE, and THE ALUMNI LESS. If not you won't have any alumni donors. Better housing options an improved cafeteria An administration open to change People that actually want to help the upcoming generations. Students first. consideration. I personally think the college of pharmacy, should have there own coffee shop and cafe. 1. Have more student activities during the weekend for students who are not able to travel home or off campus. 2. Quality food in the cafeteria and hours that do not interfere with classes/labs. If I am required to pay for a meal plan in order to live on campus, I expect my food to be of quality (not half cooked & unseasoned). Also, if I miss a meal, it would great to be able to use that swipe at Jazzman's or subconnections to get something to eat. 3. Housing (all halls) needs refurnishing and a paint job. The mattresses on campus are thin, very uncomfortable, and are causing back problems. The first floor of the halls are not welcoming. Adding pops of color to the walls will appeal to current students, parents (who are paying), and future students. Housing offers convenience, but I believe I could find an apartment for cheaper that would offer better services. I would also feel safer in my hall if the doors remained locked at all times and entrance required an ID swipe. The overnight workers do not look capable of handling any intruder. Everything I've put in my answers. See all of the above comments Be more caring and about the students. We are the future. They should act as such. We need a bigger and modern lounge like most private schools. The microwaves are extremely dirty. Please give us modern toilets, way too old restrooms. The printer on college of pharmacy second floor never works. It's either broke, run out of paper or ink. It's ridiculously painful to pay n not get services you are paying for. I hope there will be changes to this. Give more scholarships and especially to some of us students that are 1st generation college students. The living conditions need to be enhanced and the sanitary conditions of the cafe I'm not currently aware of any swimming activities available for students. With XULA primarily servicing African American students, I feel that it would be beneficial for us, as a part of a community that suffers from stereotypes like a plague, to promote activities that will not only make students more well rounded individuals but also combat these stereotypes that people view the black community through. Improve on administrative response times and resolution commitment. Lack of follow up and courteous attitudes make it hard to feel respected and appreciated. I think there definitely needs to be more promotion for financial assistance. I have seen so many friends have to leave because of this financial strain. Get a better meal plan. I've never left the cafeteria and felt full, or felt as if I had a good meal. We pay $8,000 for a meal plan that consists of uncooked chicken and cold hamburgers Hire and fire. You all really need to look into the mental health of the staff you are hiring. For https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

example Gordon, she told students in pharmacy to just apply for a tech license. Haha that really supports xaviers mission statement I believe more activities and higher technological advances need to be made. XU has a great reputation but does not give students an opportunity to grow other than academically. I believe XU needs to give students more social activities and needs to be able to compete with other surrounding schools to increase retention rates and recruitment. Resident hall improvements: The doubles in the LLC are too small to fit two people and all their personal belongings; there is not enough personal space. There needs to be more of an option for food and recreational activities on campus. Care for current students as much as you care for incoming students. Did you read my comment about Sodexo? Also, making Xavier look more like a college campus would help. Although I know some of that is underway, however, having a neighborhood in the middle of a campus isn't exactly a good look. There's also no place for students to gather outside other than St. Joe and the terrace. There's the quad, but no one really gathers there for leisure. Attitude adjustment/improvement, the way you talk to students should be with respect and helpful insight Xavier could do a lot more to make students feel more like actual students and not "paying customers". It is rude and offensive to say the least. Part of the retention problem is due to the fact that students offered less than a full scholarship are set to obtain the same GPA as those that do. The 3.3 is too high, so when students lose their scholarships they are on the first flight out of New Orleans. A transportation bus like Tulane, Lower tuition 1. Better dorms 2. Better dinning services 3. Don't stop the on campus actives that we had in the beginning of the year. 4. Change the visitation restrictions because these rules make us feel like we are paying all these housing fees and going into dept to a daycare. (Biggest reason none of my friends will come.) This school needs someone youthful with a vision. That would benefit the school in a major way. Too many non african American old people working here. Most of the african american professors are young & you can tell that they truly truly care about us! Havent met one yet that gave me the impression that they were there only to recieve a pay check. We have too do a more effective job of promoting social events that unify the campus. We are so academically driven, but people need fun, and safe fun is fine. I also think making the green spaces on campus into social areas would be a nice touch. Chairs would be nice on the admin/ chapel lawns. We need actually restaurants on campus I promise that will bring student here and to upgrade https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Saint Katherine Drexel Dorm Don't just emphasize the sciences of the school, but all majors and concentrations. Maintain the upkeep of ALL buildings on campus instead of constructing structures that are not needed Improve greek life, improve student moral by loving the students and actually trying to help make them the best candidates for professional schools, get rid of teachers that don't care and that are rude, get rid of dean byrd, give pharmacy students designated parking, make the students the center of attention, tear down the mikes, give pharmacy students better quality equipment and a library and their own graduation, pay more attention to students that are struggling, cater more to diversity (asian population, whites, etc.), give free printing in the computer lab, more outlets in the library, more food options, open the library for 24 hours a day not just the small 24 hour glass box, give me more free crawfish/poboys/chicken on the yard and stop giving it to XAB members and staff behind the table, i pay for undergrad sga and xab activity fee and cant ever get anything because I'm always in class and that needs to change because only 10 people get food, extend women health care and prevention services to females so no more STD epidemics will break out, counsel students on life after college, I need a fridge, microwave, a ice machine, and a bed in the library for how many hours I spend in there. 1.Better/more exciting admission counselors. 2.lower tuition 3.stop the high enrollment of our Asian and Vietnamese peers they are taking over our HBCU. 4. Update KD 5.Looosen the rules for our student activities More ethnic and religious diversity at the school. Increase campus dining. Other schools have multiple food options. We have a cafeteria and a sandwich shop. Dissatisfied. A lot of the faculty members show disrespect and professionalism on campus, when dealing with students. Two leading reasons students transfer. GET BETTER ATTITUDES. I like the improvements that the campus is beginning to have. Upgrading the facilities and the cafeteria would be the next step in my opinion FIX. THE. DORMS. I swear, if the living space is WORTH living in, people will want to stay.. You guys will make more money of the rooms are more aesthetically pleasing. Better food in the cafe. Improve WiFi and upkeep of the dorms. the premed and pharmacy departments attract students with little effort. consider having more on campus activities (things students can do in the evenings, places where they can gather etc). Show students how their experience at xavier can be great academically, but also socially. One complaint i hear often from students is that xavier doesnt feel like the college experience for them. My biggest frustrations with Xavier are with the administrative processes still in the dark ages. More of registration permissions, etc. should happen online. Also, at my other college, you

had the first 2 weeks of the semester to add and drop classes. Finalizing your schedule in the first 2 days feels really limiting. Their should be a food place open on campus that does late night food because many people study late at night and we don't have cars to drive and we are hungry LOWER TUITION, IT'S NOT WORTH IT Allow for more freedoms for the students in terms of dorm life such as open visitation instead of this scheduled time, to allow a more relaxed campus life. Also improvements could be used inside the Mike's and wpuld be much appreciated. More fun activities to bring our students together! Better food, newer housing for the St. Mich's residence, Longer library hours Everything was addressed. Be more understanding to college student. We have enough stress as it is. Be willing to help as well HOUSING! find money anywhere to build another dorm. An apartment style it up to date dorm for pharmacy students and upperclassmen. Can be located on the grass right next to pharmacy building and chapel by the statues We need better food, more events, and transportation services. Create more events and activities on campus. Better the cafe food. Have a greater Greek presence. Update the residence halls Registrar needs more efficiency renevate dorms, improve food, keep dining hall open longer More on campus activities Advertisement is already done well.. Xavier just has to meet the other wants like better campus food to match the highly ranked academics. Better quality of life. The dorms and dining hall are the pits in terms of cleanliness. We are paying not only to get a great education, but to enjoy where we are living. I can't do that when the bathroom is filthy and the halls are dirty. Attitude adjustments in Xavier South. This is a excellent school but the way business is handled here is killing your brand. "The Xavier Way" is not good enough. Not at these prices and not in this day and age whern students have several other choices. better dining hall and gym hours Make everything 120% better. I mean this is awful. The dorms are over priced and nasty. You cant even look forward to going to the upper classmen dorms in the future because of how crappy they are. With all of the money spent on shitty dorms you can just rent a apartment. Dorms should be upgraded no student wants to live in a mold and rodent infested building with restrictions as an adult. Campus life should also be more appealing. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

Better shuttle bus transportation for students, cleaner dorm room bathrooms, cleaner dishes in the cafe, and maybe more sport type events for all students in the gym or convocation like dodge ball or flag football more fun events, offer free printing, do not promise students things if they are not going to get them, the technology fee is ridiculous especially if you do not live on campus, place more emphasis/support to majors outside of biology and chemistry, give away free stuff at games like t-shirts during half time to help boost school spirit. FINISH CONSTRUCTION!!! Keeping Xavier affordable and also keeping students, especially graduating seniors, in the loop on deadlines for graduation. We definitely need to reach out to the males more often. Xavier is an amazing school for African American education especially for graduate/medical school education, and the African American males are the ones struggling in society right now. We need to bring these males to a more positive light and get them into Xavier. Dormatory living should be better . The quality of dorms is horrible. The selection of food is bad & we should have an actual Union . Talk to students more and have an ear to listen to what they have to say. Develop student priorities. Many students care about Xavier, but they may feel unheard or that they lack the ability to be heard. Poll students to see the types of changes and events that they want to see as you are doing now. Perhaps, even visit the dorms, to see the true quality of what students pay for. I think renovations should be made to the freshman dorms. I have also heard a lot of students complain about the staff who work in the financial aid office. Football is needed. Basketball coaches should play larger schools. Social sceen should be improved on campus. Give out more scholarships and advertising ! Refurbishing and maintence of rooms and bathrooms in the freshmen dorms. Better times to access meals. More on campus activities and clubs. Resident dining is awful. The food is sometimes under prepared and the choices are limited. St. Katherine resident hall's cleaning services are subpar. On the weekends residents are left with little supplies and unsanitary conditions. We often run out of toilet paper and paper towels completely on some floors. Bathrooms aren't cleaned sufficiently at all. I believe that the roads should be fixed near the parking. Also I think students would appreciate if they felt more secure parking their cars if cameras were installed. I think Xavier should also look into the police officers. Some are very rude and it felt unwelcoming once I started my first year at Xavier. Campus is beginning to look much better, good job. We need better events and higher student morale. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

I think having a curfew makes us feel like children, and the food needs to be a lot better, and the freshman dorms need to be renovated I wish there were accommodations for transgender students. More humbleness to all. The buildings and all are nice but the school doesn't treat all its students fairly. Advisors miscount credits and all Online could use a serious overhaul. Make more things Mac compatible- I don't think more college kids have Mac. Banner web is some what confusing it's not simple to find your info. Also, whenever we register for classes it doesn't say what room it is until the last minute. That should already be figured out when schedule classes to cut down on confusion the week before class. Just bring some of the processed up to speed to help make students a little more self sufficient and not rely on the staff so much. I think they are super busy and don't exactly have time to get to the little things Maybe instead of working on the aesthetic of Xavier University and getting money you should work on rebuilding the damn streets for students. Or maybe you should get all the cameras fixed in order to ensure safety because whenever spoken to the PD it is always the same excuse of how the cameras don't work. The dormitory halls need a better cleaning service. The halls(St.Mikes) is very unsanitary and would definitely be a reason why recruitment and retention are low. Update the internal systems to be more effective. I have addressed many of these issues in the previous comments sections. At the end of the day, everyone at Xavier -- from the President all the way to the bottom -- needs to understand that the students are the life blood of the University. When I go to a retail store, like the Verizon store, to spend $200, I'm treated as if my presence is appreciated. When I go to various offices at Xavier to spend $15,000 a semester, I'm treated like I'm an interruption to someone's day. The staff are under the impression that the students should feel lucky to be here. Ironically, with how much competition exists in higher education, it is the staff who should feel lucky to be here. The survival of the University depends urgently on how appreciated people feel when they come here. We will suffer if that message isn't urgently impressed upon every person who works here. The campus (outside) is constantly under construction, yet the COP cannot even get a decent study room. Why would they choose to do construction on a study room during the semester as opposed to summer months? There are way too many superficial projects that are being done. There should be more investment in the students/customers and their needs as opposed to what the campus looks like to the public. Lower the fees New dorms More nuggets need to hire a new set of staff or re train the staff to know the information to convey to student.

Adopt or implement an entirely new and universal system of protocols. I do not think that administration operates by central guidelines. This becomes particularly apparent during times of registration and deal with financial aid staff. My experiences with a few staff members have not been the most productive use of my time. I have witnessed some staff conduct themselves towards students in very aloof and dismissive ways. I do not like the fact that some of the staff in a place where I spend $48,600/year to be, are condescending and borderline disrespectful. Ms. Sandy-Livings Veals does a wonderful job at assisting students! As a "paying customer" the administration should focus on using students' tuition money to improve some of the departments in education instead of using the money for things that do not benefit the students. The streets and parking for students are appalling and push potential students away. Put the students as your main priority. Try to keep your word. Don't act fancy today and not tomorrow. Offer more scholarships. More events for student involvement. Tuition should be less, if thats impossible at least make us feel like we aren't wasting money. We pay TOO much to get SOOOO little. I know this can't be the first time someone complained about the way students are treated in the financial aid office and yet in the 7 years I have been at this school nothing has changed. If students are taking the time to actually fill out this survey please take this matter into consideration and make a change for a better. Make students know that things are definitely going to change when they are asked to do surveys such as this one. To be honest, I am not very confident about this survey. I'm just taking it for the sake of taking it. I still feel like not much will be done about KD. We've complained before, but not much has been done in my opinion. I hope this survey puts some serious changes into play. A better food selection/ menu choices are much needed. Also, the work is really actually hard so I'm not sure how you can increase retention. Get new furniture in all the dorms. Actually clean the dorms. Get new AC in the dorms. Fix the dorms as much as possible if not XULA is not going to rebuild them. Having the cafe open more hours with better food. Letting the library have been weekend hours. Make more parking for students closer to the buildings. We are paying the tuition for this school, there should be more parking for students than staff and faculty Xavier is a prominent school with a great reputation, therefore the things Xavier offers should reflect that. For example, things should easily accessed online (i.e: transcript request) New staff/ faculty members should be oriented about the culture of Xavier as supposed to stepping into their roles and changing things. Graduate programs should be represented on all levels just as the College of Pharmacy is. Fiscal services should upgrade their policies and procedures because to tell me if I fax a document and it's not guaranteed the document would

be processed is baffling. Better choices of food in the cafe! More activities on campus! Revision of dorm hall rules(curfew, visitation, alcohol policy for those over 21), give better housing options for upperclassmen, get rid of some unnecessary curriculum requirements, improve on weekend library hours or add another 24 hour room, improve on parking options The administration should really not talk down on their students. It's absolutely rude and disrespectful. I've had scoffs and the administration in the Xavier south along with the administration in college of pharmacy can both be very displeasing. I've had many bad experiences, and it seems like it needs to end. The registration process needs to be more efficient. There is an opportunity to make the experience better for both parents, students, and employees Please find people who are enthusiastic about their job. I pay too much money to be dealing with nasty attitudes. Oh & I love the education system. Also, please have franchises like wendys on campus for those who want "off campus" food but don't have cars To boost retention, I believe students should be treated more like the adults we are expected to be. College is meant to prepare for adult/career life after graduation, I personally do not I will be prepared. Xavier shelters its students more than we should be. Also, while we cannot change the location of our campus, SGA van service could be more consistent and have a system that is consistent. In general, I believe that Xavier would be a great school, if we did not feel smothered on a regular basis by rules that are restrictive (cafe hours, no choice in meal plans). I should to better control my experience by having a better say on the choices I have. Refer to my comment about the Freshmen dorms. Change them so they do not look like prisons. Actually talk about other things besides the Pre-Med office. Not everyone will be doctors, and now when we present the school to prospective students, it seems like we are beating a dead horse. Xavier has way more to offer and it is unfair to other departments the lack of time and attention that they are given. We would have more if we did more. We need stay up with the times of the new generations, the curriculum is awesome but we should incorporate abstract thinking in regular classes, not just forcing students to take philosophy. They do not actually benefit from it. Everyone is not of the Catholic faith either. Although we were founded by a white Catholic woman, we are more than that now. We are a diverse population and therefore theology should not have a requirement for 2 semesters. One semester will help students understand the foundations, but two should be for those more enthused and seeking that field. The amount of hours required for graduation causes many to leave early, that is why staying with the times could increase the retention rate. Tradition and innovation should work hand-and-hand. We are a great school with a great course load we just need to update our

appreciation for the student in order to keep us here. We cannot please everybody but this survey is a good start. Better parking for pharmacy students Stop spending money on unnecessary things like a welcome arch way and offer leaving student more financial aid. Put more emphasis on student engagement and SATISFACTION with all aspects of the school. Do not conduct surveys and make no changes. Please just adhere to student input and involvement so that we may have a better institution! There should be more social activities on campus. A lot of students from other universities didn't come to Xavier because they think Xavier's social life isn't fun or even existent. The administrative staff's attitudes towards students need to change, especially in the fiscal services office and the registrar office, particularly the front desk staff. They are very unprofessional and rude towards students. They are very condescending towards students and make me feel stupid whenever I ask them a question because they ALWAYS give me attitude and make me feel like I shouldn't have asked that question. Please please please fix that! I know all, if not MOST STUDENTS, are fed up with all the rude behavior and unprofessionalism they are receiving from these staffs. Brag more! I have relatives from across the state that perceive XULA as being a great institution (and it is). I think if people knew just how much XULA students and faculty receive from the university, enrollment would increase.Instituting programs that allow high school students to connect with the university (fellowships across the university) would get more freshman on board. XULA is a dignified, respectable institution and I want to see more people enter the doors. Please review my first comment. Most of the staff have very bad attitudes which make our college life very hard... they rather hurt and help Work with them regarding tuition payments. A lot of people stop coming because of not being able to pay 5-6 thousand dollars at the beginning of every semester out of pocket. Xavier needs to be more commuter-student friendly! Offer more scholarships and less restrictions to keep these scholarships. Most retention is lost second semester of freshman year and 1st semester sophomore year. A small note to the administration: Other that academics, the meaning of 'Catholic values' varies between people (it even varies between Catholics). It is difficult to please everyone. However, it becomes an issue when your majority is displeased. Build another dorm. Apartment style preferably an "Honors Dorm" for Pharmacy Students and other upperclassmen who have like a 3.5 GPA and above. I really would not be so angry in regards to terrible meals and WIFI if I went home to a state of the art living facility. Honestly I https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

do not wish to use my tuition money to have renovations made on anything but new dorms. We are getting a great education but, we aren't getting a great college experience. Students want to have a good time. We won't to learn how to conduct ourselves as adults in society. College is where you gain these skills but not at Xavier. The university needs to loosen the tight leash it puts on its students Sometimes, during certain events, there isn't always a sense of urgency. Moving a little faster enables some things to move quicker. Care just as much for the students you already have as you do for the ones you aim to attract. There are a number of reasons why the retention rate is the way it is (from financial trouble to disinterest) but one major reason is that students don't feel cared for beyond freshman year/orientation. No matter how good the education or reputation, not every student wants to go to a school that takes in more freshmen than can fit in the dorms, then moves upperclassmen into freshmen dorms to accommodate. Or one that restricts third-years classified as seniors from moving into an upperclassman dorm full of sophomores up just because they aren't a certain age. If you aren't hearing the dissenting voices, it's probably because people think they'll be punished if they say something negative. I think there should be virtual (online) town halls for this reason. There might be a lot of jokes at first, but it quickly get serious. Get teachers who care, better technology, and have better events for students Stop hiring people to tell the school what problems are going on, ASK THE STUDENTS! We'll give HONEST answers! Stop wasting money on unnecessary things like the pointless things being constructed on campus that don't contribute to our quality of living on campus or our education. Dorms are terrible, food is terrible, and employees rude I think the parking permits should not apply to graduate students. We come to campus for class at least two times a week, three for most of us. We occupy parking spots in the parking lot at night when there is not a high demand for close parking. It seems unreasonable to be forced to pay for parking or park farther away from our classes when we visit campus less often and at later times than the majority of the student body. Show some of a campus life, the school is all about academia, which is not bad, don't get me wrong, but having more things to do outside of a departments week or an organization week. Also for those who will commute to have access to campus study areas food plans etc. The employees should want to actually help the students. Fiscal services should actually want to help retain students instead of constantly rejecting us. There should be more financial help towards tuition for those who work hard and actually want to stay here. As a student, I feel that my hard earned money could be used more efficiently to improve the university. Instead of a useless grand sign with the school's name, I would rather the dorms be renovated. Almost every building a part of Xavier has a mold problem that has yet to be

addressed. As an asthmatic and sufferer of Hay Fever, living in a place with mold in its walls, bathroom, showers, and sleeping area, my health is contantly at risk. The University is constantly spending money on extravagent assessories for the school's attraction, that there is no money left to keep buildings up. I, personally, would not have come here had I had the opportunity to visit the school prior moving in Freshman year. Xavier should offer a better food selection. Clean the school! Offer Starbucks in their library to bring in income. Also, the university should higher staffs that are not lazy! I wish the budget for HC and spring fest was bigger, or rather made easily available to the students. Offer more scholarships for individual skills, over just merit. I think that visitation hours and curfew should be eliminated. Also, they should work with Sodexo to plan better meals. Lastly, we should have more on campus activities like a movie night or something every Friday PROFESSIONALISM from all staff and faculty associated with Xavier More on campus activities during the week, to let us come together as a student body family Time in between classes extended (Consider Xavier South to NCF ) HAVE A PRESENTABLE CAMPUS, THERE'S WORK TO BE DONE Lower tuition, less strict on having certain activities/events held on campus, more scholarships given throughout the semester n not just offer scholarships as a first time freshman Xavier needs to do more on campus to keep students here. It don't make any sense why the campus is completely dead on weekends. Why is the cafe so bad? Why are ALL the dorms terrible. There is hardly anything to look forward here. Sometimes I question why I have stayed here so long. Guess its the academics. Read these evaluations that's the biggest step. take to the students. face to face, go into the residential hall and talk. I feel that people just do the surveys just to do it and continue with their lives. But if you as the person that are creating this survey take the time to go into the halls, walk around campus and talk to the students, life on Xavier's campus will increase rapidity. Better rooms for the LLC. We're too old for bunk beds. More fun. We're not children. Our parents have raised us. There's no reason we shouldn't have spring lines for Greek life or more weekend activities. Or longer events. We don't need to be watched 24/7x Do not choose a major for the people who are paying you. If they fail more than 2 classes. let them decide when it is appropriate to change their major you all should not make that decision for us. College is a place to learn, grow, and experience things. Xavier is solely academic and it can really tarnish a student's ability to grow outside of the classroom. Some majors are more https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1KXn72LmZQdIWDfG2d2-MMTlMuKe6V_xyAXGn9e-nhFA/viewanalytics

strenuous than others, however, there should be a healthy balance between the classroom and the world. Incoming students may look at a school for its academic abilities, but they're ultimately looking for an overall experience. New Orleans may be a party town, but with the safety issues and lack of transportation for some students, it's a burden to use the city as an excuse that there is always something to do. The ability to offer a student an experience is what will attract them and keep them. Actually do some of the things students request Try harder to meet students needs. As students we pay way too much for the poor quality. Students need to feel a connection with administration and not look at the admin as the bourgeois. Talk to the students and hear what they have to say. Administration needs to have a conversation with its customers and stop hiding from us so we can work together. Get rid of the bad apples within this organization. If you want more students to come to Xavier you should make it more like a college and less like a boarding school. The rules of visitation and curfew is frustrating as a college student looking for freedom when leaving from being under the control of their parents.
