THE HCS DIPLOMA

OUR STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM A DEDICATED FUTURES DEPARTMENT THAT PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE GUIDANCE TO HELP NAVIGATE POST-18 PATHWAYS.

Our Head of Futures, Ms Lauren Harris Jones, gets to know each student as an individual, finds out what makes them tick and makes sure they receive the support they need to meet their future aspirations.

> UNIFROG

All of our students benefit from access to Unifrog, a platform which allows them to compare every university course, apprenticeship and Further Education course, ensuring they make the best choices, and submit the strongest applications.

> UCAS APPLICATION SUPPORT

Every student is assigned a UCAS Co-ordinator who provides expert advice on the university application process. Visits to a university department and the Higher Education Fair at the University of Worcester are also arranged to help students explore the range of academic and career opportunities, and discover a future that’s right for them.

In Year 13, support includes a designated period each week for UCAS preparation and mock interviews with specialists in the student’s chosen field. This dedicated time and practical support ensures that over 90% of pupils go on to their university of choice each year.

> OXBRIDGE & MEDICAL PATHWAYS SUPPORT

For those students considering early university applications to Oxford and Cambridge, and those looking to pursue a medical career, we offer specialised support including a weekly Biomedical Society and practice interviews with Oxbridge specialists and service professionals.

> POST-RESULTS SUPPORT

UCAS Co-ordinators and subject specialist teachers are always on hand on results day and beyond, supporting each student as they make their final university choices.

> ALUMNI NETWORK

Every student at HCS is able to benefit from the School’s alumni network which is rich in professionals who are experts in their field.

We are always happy to make connections and arrange useful and purposeful placements, a benefit that continues well beyond school.
