Annie is the Sydney based fashion and lifestyle blogger for anniepop.com and Creative Director for the jewellery company Bellagio & Co. As a teenager, she became glued to her bulky computer and would often spend weekends teaching herself how to create website templates for fun. Eventually laptops were invented and with her new found ability to carry the internet around to wherever she was, a blogger was born. Beanies are known for their edgy borrowed-from-my-boyfriend look when paired with a leather jacket, sweater or baggy top. But if you’re a classic girl like me you can also incorporate a knitted beanie with a tailored coat and gloves to mellow down the look.

If you’re new to beanies try to avoid hat hair by not wearing your beanie too tight, leaving your hair down and drying it upside down to lift your roots. To style your outfit with a beanie - stick to neutral colours, dark prints or both and avoid wearing matching knitted gloves.
BEANIE BEST When the wintery elements of water and wind seem rallied to dishevel your hair to resemble a coyote’s pelt and redden your ears to a Rudolph red, the HFB beanie will be your very best friend.
Though beanies have been typically worn for this practical purpose, as a sort of hobo hat and simple part of winter wear, 2013 Autumn/Winter Fashion Week’s around the world have redefined the humble beanie. Sported on the Donna Karan, BCBG and Kate Spade runways, beanies are now a must-have piece for the style elite. Plus, our favourite it-girl Cara Delevingne basically wears one with most of her insanely stylish ensembles. For the most part, it was the beanie’s popularity amongst the everyday, street style girls attending Fashion Week that inspired us to bring it to you this month!
RESPLENDENT IN A PENDANT The long pendant necklace is a perfect alternative to the heavy, statement necklace for a more minimalist style. The long pendant also adds an interesting varied length if you want to try layering with other necklaces. The necklace has the magic of transforming a simple jeans and top ensemble into something special, giving the look an interesting, understated chic. Plus, these long necklaces are similar to a v-neck blouse as they draw the eye down, lengthening the body to give you height and elegance. Though a timeless look, we were more recently inspired by the necklaces worn during the 2013 award season by Amanda Seyfried, during New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 in collections by Oscar de la Renta, Trina Turk and Anna Sui and in our latest street style snaps.
