Attire considered appropriate for a Country Club of the caliber of River Club of Mequon is expected of all members and their guests. Please remember to advise your guests of these dress code guidelines prior to their visit to the club. The club management is required to enforce the dress code. They reserve the right to determine if a member or their guest’s attire is considered inappropriate. If management considers a guest or member’s attire to be inappropriate, the offender may be asked to make a possible modification or leave the property. Children 13 years and older are expected to dress appropriately following the Club’s dress code for men and women as outlined below. The dress code includes all practice facilities.
Headwear & Footwear:
Golf hats and visors must be worn forward. Golf hats and visors are permitted in the clubhouse.
Metal spikes, other sport cleats, sandals flip flops, or bare feet are not permitted.
Acceptable Attire:
Both Ladies & Gentlemen’s Dress can include traditional and non-traditional golf apparel that represents the spirit of the game and current trends in the golf industry. Shirts are customarily worn tucked in and hats are typically worn in the fashion in which they are designed.
Items for Exclusion: Denim of any kind, Sweat Pants / Athletic Shorts, T-Shirts, Bathing Suits or Swim Wear, Tank Tops, Bare Midriffs, Nylon / Running Shorts or Gym Specific attire, Cut-Offs / Torn or Ripped Fashions
Golf Shop & Tee Times: April: 9am-5pm (weather permitting) May: 8am-6pm June - August: 7am-6pm September: 8am-6pm October: 9am-5pm (weather permitting)
Members and guests should always strive to do their part in making their round of golf a pleasant experience for everyone at the Club.
In doing so, please be mindful of the following guidelines:
Replace or fill all divots. It is preferred that players fill their divots with the displaced grass. If that is not possible, please use the divot mix provided. Fix ball marks on greens. All players are responsible for fixing ball marks on greens. Rake bunkers. Please use provided rakes to create a playing surface in which all subsequent golfers can enjoy. After raking the bunker, please place rake perpendicular to the edge of the bunker with just the handle on the outside of the bunker.
Maintain position on the golf course. Proper positioning is half of one hole behind the group in front of you. Pace of play is regulated to 4 hours on the 18 hole course. If a group falls behind the acceptable pace, the staff will politely ask them to either skip a hole or move back into the proper position on the course
Golf carts may not be operated within 30 yards of the green complexes. Keep golf carts off all tee and green banks. Park the golf carts on the cart paths around these areas, as well as par 3s when possible. We appreciate every effort made to avoid bare spots, wet or soft areas, and areas under repair to maintain the best course conditions.
Respect other players. Please be aware of your surroundings when playing music and be courteous to your fellow golfers. Refrain from driving golf carts within close proximity of other players while on the course. Remember, always yell “FORE” if your golf ball is headed toward the vicinity of other players.
