Grades Pre-K–5 Workshops
SOIL TO SEED TO PLANT Pre-K–2nd Grade: Life cycles come alive in this hands-on study of plants, focusing on the importance of soil, seeds, and how plants survive. Students explore the life cycle of a plant and learn how plants, insects, and animals are interdependent. Each student will plant their own seed to take home. 3rd–5th Grade: Botanists are born in this hands-on exploration of the interdependent relationship between producers and decomposers. Students rotate through stations to learn about the pollination process, seed dispersal, and photosynthesis. Each student will plant their own seed to take home. 4
ENGINEERING AUTOS Pre-K–2nd Grade: Students explore the antique auto collection, identifying similarities and differences between cars today and those on display. After an introduction to simple machines and learning about Henry Ford’s assembly line, students work together to complete a Lego™ car-building challenge. 3rd-5th Grade: Jump back in time, and take a job in Henry Ford’s company. In a group challenge, student teams problem-solve ways to optimize their efficiency as they build Lego™ cars. Students will test multiple solutions, analyze their results, and report their findings to the rest of the group. Program includes a discussion of simple machines and a history of how Henry Ford’s assembly line changed the world.
Grades 6-8 Workshop
WORKINGS OF A WOODLAND Uncover the inner workings of the forest ecosystem, and discover the interdependence of the organisms that live there. Working together, students will identify the layers of the forest, discuss the life cycle of trees, and describe the interactions that occur among producers, consumers, and decomposers in a forest ecosystem during the process of energy transfer. In small groups, students will gather data to determine the current state of Heritage’s forest succession and share their observations while considering the human impact on the ecosystem.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AT THE ADVENTURE PARK AT HERITAGE The Forest Walk Interpretive Trail, a quarter-mile loop beneath the aerial trails, is available for those who opt not to climb. ECOADVENTURE WORKSHOP – GRADES 6–8 Uncover the inner workings of the forest ecosystem, and discover the interdependence of the organisms that live there. LEADERSHIP ADVENTURE WORKSHOP – GRADES 8–12 Students will identify their primary leadership “direction.” They will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of their style, reflect on how they can improve their skills, and discuss how their methods complement other leadership styles. HERITAGE ADVENTURE TOUR & CLIMB COMBO – GRADES 2–12 Two unique experiences. One easy ticket. Available Monday–Friday. In the morning: • Climb through the trees while learning about forest ecosystems and physics. After lunch: • Tour the Heritage collections and special exhibits, both indoors and out, with an experienced guide, and ride our antique carousel. • See American and Native American art and artifacts. • View our nationally significant collection of antique American automobiles. • Learn about Cape Cod trees, plants, and shrubs. RECOMMENDED VISIT TIMES AND LENGTHS: Suggested arrival times for school/youth programs are between 9am and 10:30am to ensure enough time for your program and exploration. Please note: if you are booking a combination program and climb, earlier arrivals are recommended. Self-Guided Tour - Allow at least 2 hours for your visit. Heritage Highlights - Allow 3 ½ hours for your visit. Discovery Workshop - Allow 4 hours for your visit. Combination Adventure - Allow 6+ hours for your visit.*

Self-Guided Tour Reservations
• Reserve one week in advance • Full payment is due on arrival based on your final group count • Checks, credit cards and cash are accepted
Guided Tour and Discovery Program Reservations
• Reserve three weeks in advance • A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking (Purchase orders cannot be accepted as a form of deposit) • Final payment is due on arrival based on your final group count unless other arrangements have been made in advance • Checks, credit cards and cash are accepted
Group Counts and Payment Requirements
• Your expected group count, contact information for the lead teacher for the day of 12
your visit, and a credit card number are required 14 days prior your visit date • To qualify your group for Direct Billing, a purchase order is required when booking
Refunds
• Heritage cannot provide refunds to groups arriving with fewer visitors than provided in the final count • Additional student/youth visitors and chaperones may be added upon arrival • All sales are final
Arrival/Check-In
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled program start time • All programs begin as scheduled, and Heritage cannot guarantee programming for groups arriving 30 minutes late or more • Upon arrival, a member of the Heritage staff will greet you to provide instructions and admission materials and complete the check-in/payment procedure • Chaperones, please stay with your group at all times
Cancellations
• Self-Guided Tours: To cancel or reschedule a self-guided tour, please contact us at least one week prior to your expected arrival date. Cancellation requests received less than one week prior to the expected date of arrival are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. • Guided Tours and Discovery Workshops: You may apply your deposit to a new visit scheduled within 30 days from your cancellation date. • If your new visit is not scheduled within 30 days, a new deposit will be required.
Weather
Heritage Museums & Gardens programs take place rain or shine.
• Student/youth group visitors should come prepared with appropriate attire. In the rare event of severe weather, we will work with you to reschedule your visit.

Reservation Requirements

Arrival/Check-In
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled climb start time for check in: - For Climb/Adventure Workshop Combo, and Heritage Tour and Climb Package, check in at the Heritage main entrance. - For The Adventure Park Climb only, check in at The Adventure Park entrance. • All climbs begin as scheduled, and The Adventure Park cannot guarantee programming or full climbs for groups arriving 15 minutes late or more.
Weather
The park is open rain or shine. If the park is unable to open or forced to close early during your visit due to severe weather, you have the option to reschedule your outing or to receive a refund (excluding the deposit) of the paid amount.
Clothing
Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes that are suitable for climbing and ziplining. Always wear weather-appropriate attire.
Waiver Forms
All climbers will need to fill out an electronic waiver form prior to climbing. Waivers will be emailed to group leaders upon booking. Paper forms are not available.
Adventure Park Cancellations
• Cancellations made 10 or more days in advance of your reservation will be refunded the reservation fee, excluding the $150 non-refundable deposit. • Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance of your reservation are not eligible for a refund, but full payment can be applied to a rescheduled visit to the park. • Groups that are a “no-show” for their reservation on the reserved day/time are not eligible to be refunded or rescheduled.
