Businesses have powered through and continue to grow and prosper. Below are just a few businesses that have been full of resiliency and determination, experiencing growth and new ventures.

Amazon, Inc.

A 477,946-square-foot package delivery hub is set to be built in North Jacksonville for Amazon, Inc. This facility will be the ninth in the Northeast Florida area and another fulfillment facility is under construction within proximity to the new package delivery center.

Boeing

Boeing has released information that more jobs will be added at Cecil Airport in Jacksonville. A new hangar will be constructed by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, which will take approximately three years. This expansion will bring nearly 400 more jobs to Cecil Airport. Construction on the hangar and office space, as well as a support shop, will begin fall 2021 and plans to be completed by January 2024.

Forcura

Forcua’s technology platform transforms the way health care organizations manage document information and HIPPA-compliant

communication. Working with health and hospice organizations, the organization of information allows better management of patient care, financial aspects and administrative services through paperless document services.

Made in Space, Inc.

The aerospace manufacturing technology company, Made in Space, Inc., has relocated its corporate headquarters to Jacksonville from Silicon Valley. The new facility is located in the Baymeadows Business Center area. With close vicinity to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, the company can work closely in the industry.

NewRez

NewRez, a national mortgage lender and servicer has expanded to Jacksonville. Jacksonville is one of their enterprise core locations and is also the fourth service center in the area. With this expansion, more than 100 new people will be hired, doubling its current centers.

S2A Modular

The California-based company, S2A Modular, purchased 51 acres of land in Macclenny. The company manufacturers electrically selfsustaining luxury residences and buildings. This site is its first East Coast MegaFactory and will feature more than 240,000 square feet with 13 different structures and buildings. Each year, the facility plans on manufacturing 5,000 GreenLux™ smart residences, commercial buildings, hotels and multifamily units.

Synergy Technologies, LLC

Synergy Technologies, a global professional services and consulting firm, is expanding its Jacksonville offices adding approximately 300 jobs to the area. Additional services that Synergy provides include developing and designing software for a variety of businesses, such as financial services companies, health care and transportation.

Health Care Expansions

Flagler Health+

Expanding throughout St. Johns County, Flagler Hospital announced that it will now be called Flagler Health+. Flager Health+ is working hard to accommodate the growing community in the area. It has now expanded into Palencia, Murabella and Nocatee. Working in partnership with the YMCA, many options will be available at the facilities including art in medicine, educational programs and healthy living options.

Ascension St. Vincent’s

Ascension St. Vincent’s has announced that it will break ground on a new hospital located on County Road 210 at I-95 in St. Johns County in order to meet the needs of a growing community. The new hospital has an anticipated completion in 2022 and will employ 600 people. The 150,000-squarefoot facility will have cardiovascular care, orthopaedics, short-term hospitalization, and emergency services including eight ICU beds and 48 additional beds.

Encompass Health

With plans to provide intensive physical rehabilitative services to the First Coast, Encompass Health has placed land under contract to build a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The hospital will have the most up-to-date design, based off the 136 hospitals Encompass has throughout the nation and Puerto Rico. The hospital will provide speech, occupational and physical therapy services and provide care by registered nurses. With more than three decades of presence in Florida, Encompass currently has 12 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, 19 home health locations, and two hospitals currently under construction in Florida. The Jacksonville location plans to begin seeing patients in the second half of 2022.
