For My

Husband

God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be  So He put His arms around you  And whispered, “Come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you  As you slowly slipped away And though we loved you dearly  We couldn’t make you stay Your golden heart stop beating  Your tired hands put to rest  God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

My Carlos,

I’ve known you for over 32 years and yet that doesn’t seem like enough. I thank you for all the joy and love you gave to me and our family. You are the most unselfish and kind hearted man I’ve ever known. And I will forever cherish you and our memories in my heart.  My love for you Carlos goes beyond this life. Keep the laughter going in Heaven, Sweetie.  From your Wife Monica  (.....but affectionately known by you as “Hunny Bunny”)

Remembering Your Last Times

Carlos, we remember the day you were born … nearly a ten pound baby!

Carlos, we remember your legs were so bowed that random people stopped us… to pray for you! Carlos, we remember you had a special chair in your elementary classes…biggest child in the room! We remember you were always chosen first to be on a team or group because…it was gonna be fun! Carlos, we remember you weren’t the best in sports but we were told …they wanted more kids like you! We remember you were a good dancer but you thought you could be on…Soul Train! Carlos, we remember when you were in Junior High & over the moon happy because you had a baby sister, Rebecca! Carlos, we remember you broke your leg, lost all athletic scholarships…but got academic scholarships! We remember your plans were altered by the accident but found a new direction… with computers! Carlos, we remember your patience and kindness allowed you to meet the CEO of Promus…got your first career job! Carlos, we remember when God gave you an extension of you, he gave you a daughter…Alexia! We remember you walking down the aisle to say I do with your high school sweetheart…Monica Watson! Carlos, we remember you going from Promus to Harrah’s and they took you with them… to Vegas! We remember the trips going to Vegas and you treated us like we were royal dignitaries! Carlos, we remember you were tired of Vegas and moved your family to a family-friendly place…Dallas! We remember your last visit for ten days just to spend time with your parents…totally spontaneous! We membered you becoming more and more close to your sister taking her away more often…when you traveled! We remember it wasn’t possible for her to go on the last trip…to Cozumel! We now know God had other plans for you…beyond our understanding! We remember you as a serious, fun, loving, silly, talented man, who saw life differently…but his! Carlos we remember the last time on Sunday, August 4th you Face-Timed us and said, “Ma and Pop...I love you!” We remember the last time…

Your Parents, Robert and Linda Bolden

TO OUR DAD We believe that you can hear us when we talk to you about life. We believe that you are listening to our troubles and our strife. We believe that you are with us when the sorrow is too much We believe that you reach out to us, We know that we feel your touch. We believe that you can see us When we celebrate and smile We believe that you are happy That joy comes once in a while I believe that you still love us from your place of rest We believe that love travels far and for this we feel blessed Alexia, Aliyah, and Malik

MISSING YOU Though I’m missing you I must find a way to get through Who would have known that you had to go so suddenly so fast They say there is a reason They say that time will heal But neither time no reason will change the way we feel For no one know the heartache that lies behind our smiles No one knows how many times we’ve broke down and cried We want to tell you something so there won’t be any doubt You’re so wonderful to think of but so hard to be with out We cannot bring the old days back When we were all together The family chain is broken now but your memories will live forever. Forever in our hearts. JW, Lessie , Michael and Monique

Seasons of Life The “Mixxx” Carlos Arnez Bolden (BigMixx) was brought into creation on December 28, 1971, to Robert and Linda Bolden in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2001, Carlos married his high school Sweet heart, Monica “Honey Bunny “Watson, which took them from Memphis, Tennessee to Las Vegas, Nevada - and finally to Dallas, Texas. Carlos was a man of many talents including technology, music, gaming, and photography.  At 10:10 pm on August 7, at Baylor Scott and White Heart Hospital in Plano, TX, he did it “BigMixxx” style, he stepped away from the turn tables of life to meet his appointment with God. Carlos was a member of Greater Community Temple since 1971 under the leadership of Bishop W. L. Porter and now Bishop Brandon B. Porter. He was an alumnus of The Memphis Central High School and State Technical Institute at Memphis. Since his father would not allow him to play football, Carlos turned to Basketball - playing in Junior High, High School and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Carlos had a “Unique Flair” for telling tall tales that were centered on HIM and were encouraged by his personal fan club (Lyzelle). Carlos was not afraid to be his genuine self - which included dining in the fanciest of places and asking for koolaid, a sample and even a freebie, or being playful in the calmest of atmospheres, (while remaining highly professional). With some of the most prominent people across world being known as a technology guru.  Having a passion for technology, Carlos loved his work, working for Caesars Entertainment (initially Harrah’s) for over 25 years. In 2017, he became employed with Century Link, continuing to work in the field of Information Technology and Database Engineering. To this day, everyone remains unsure of what his official title was.  He leaves to cherish his memory his parents Robert and Linda; his wife Monica; three children: Alexia, Aliyah, and Malik; two Godchildren: Abdur Griffin, Lyzelle Moore and one special “Grandson”, Sayyid Laith Griffin. He also leaves his best buddy Louie, the Schnoodle, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and loved ones, and his pride and joy, Rebecca, his sister, who would often tell him that he was adopted, and nearly had him convinced.

MY NEPHEW, MY FRIEND Looking back my nephew my friend Carlos has always been a happy go lucky person, never a sad moment. Even as a youth he was always involved in something, besides church he loved sports, biking, computer technology (which became his career) Photography. Music and even tried his hand at DJ. We would call him Mr. Goody Goody! Carlos was not only my nephew, he became more like a friend, despite the age difference. You had a way with people both young and old. To know you, you couldn’t help but to love you. You were very caring person. There was nothing that you wouldn’t not do for anyone else. If we we down you would share a funny joke or two. You were my personal taxi for long work days, bringing along your baby sister for coworkers to see. Though Rebecca was your first baby, you eventually gained your own in Miss Alexia Pearl. Although you eventually moved on to gain your own family and moved to another state or two, you would still manage to call your Aunt Dot to check in and share a moment. My Nephew my friend, I will forever love you. You will be greatly missed. Dorothy Davis “Aunt Dot” If there wasn’t a brother, I wouldn’t be sister. Part of who I am is because of my brother. When I felt weak, he always shined the light on my strengths. He helped me to see that I am a strong, smart, and courageous woman. When I felt sad, he would say something hilarious and make me laugh. He helped me to see sadness is a part of life, but you don’t have to dwell on it. He showed me that sometimes you need a united front. Carlos you were my #1 cheerleader. You will forever be in my heart. I love you. Your “Seester”, Beck
