To My Family With Love

As I sit in Heaven and watch you every day, I try to let you know with signs that I never went away. I hear you when you’re laughing, and watch you as you sleep; I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep. I see you wish the days away begging to have me home, So I try to send you signs So you know you are not alone. Don’t feel guilty that you have life or think that I was denied; I ran my race! I finished my course! I received my prize! Heaven is truly beautiful Just you wait and see! So live your lives, laugh again family Enjoy yourselves, be free! Then I know with every breath you take, you’ll be taking one for me. I love you, family...

Obituary

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. (I Thessalonians 4:13-14, NIV) 13

W Doris Parker Jones was born to Jimmie and Carvell Parker on February 16, 1948, at the home of her grandmother, Fannie Mae Ector Harris in Tunica, Mississippi. Doris accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour at an early age and was baptized at Mount Leaven Church at age eleven. She later united with the Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Willie H. Lester. She was a loving wife to Mr. Thomas E. Jones, and she adored her two boys, Patrick Dewayne Parker and Angelo Lopez Jones. Doris retired from Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The MED) in 2006. Our beloved Doris spent her lifetime bringing smiles to the faces of others. She had a gift for telling jokes as only she could with her EPIC sense of humor! Her favorite pastime was playing Spades and Bid Whist! She belonged to a Bid Whist card club where she was known to be extremely competitive. To know her was to love her. She loved listening to music, dancing and singing. She enjoyed participating in worship services and hearing the Word of God! She was a kind and gentle lady who always responded joyfully when the choir sang her favorite Gospel song, “Changed. To all who were blessed to know her, she was truly a gift from God. The Lord received Doris into His arms on September 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Jones, her parents, Jimmie and Carvell Parker, and her son, Angelo Lopez Jones. To cherish her sweet memory, Doris leaves a loving son, Patrick Dewayne Parker (Lise); one grandson, Jaszy Desmond Parker; one granddaughter, Keise Anquenette Rone; her great-grandson, Jayden Angelo Parker; six sisters: Christine Williams, Mattie M. Bell (Sammy, Sr.), Carolyn A. Gunn, Geraldine D. Jones, Margaret Cox, and Beverly Shipp (Arthur, Sr.); one brother, Eugene Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special dear friend, Stephanie Clark.

Family Tributes

My Prayer

Dear Lord, as I face the world today, may I hear your voice above all others. May any critical or negative things I hear go in one ear and out the other. Help me remember that the peace you offer, which the world cannot give or take away. Thank you for being my strength, my shield, my refuge, my healer, my defender, my provider, and my advocate. You are everything I need. You are greater than anything I will face today. If you are for me, it does not matter who or what comes against me. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. - Chris

An Unbreakable Bond

The love shared between siblings is an unbreakable bond. We knew this day was coming. It comes for everyone on planet Earth. But we were not ready for this calling from God. We are a family that believes in God. We know God does not make mistakes. God decides when you have completed your mission. It has nothing to do with our wants. We are sorrowful for our loss. However, we believe that Angelo, Thomas Jones, Daddy, Momma, Thurman (Boneman) and Allen are all happy because Doris has them laughing. We are presently sad for our loss because we love our sister and wish we had been given more time with her. Yet, we are grateful to God that her crossover was not traumatic or painful. She left us, early September 11th with the peace of God shown all over her face. To our sister, we will miss you and never forget you. Until we meet again, and we will, we love you from the bottom of our hearts. Bonded in life and the hereafter. Forever and Always, Your Baby Brother and Sisters
