Felsie Williams Woods was born July 27, 1940, to the late Mamie and Cornell Williams in Rossville, Tennessee. She was the oldest of seven children. A product of Memphis City Schools, she attended Booker T. Washington High School. Obtaining her diploma led to a number of educational accomplishments - to include coursework at CETA-North Center, where she received a clerical certification which led to a very rewarding and promising career. She completed work experience training with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and later went on to work as a Switchboard Operator for the State of Tennessee. She accepted Christ early in her life and united with the Oak Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor J. E. Clark. She later attended the Lane Avenue Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor J. W. Williams until she reunited with Oak Grove. She served her church faithfully as a Church Mother and as an Usher. She absolutely LOVED being an usher! She loved to travel and spend time with her family and loved ones, and she could always be counted on to be the life of the party with her incredible sense of humor and zest for life! She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and two brothers: John D. Williams and Walter L. Williams.

If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love. - Dr. Maya Angelou

To cherish her sweet memory, she leaves a son, Jeffery L. Woods (Erinn); a daughter, Toni Hampton (Jeffery); four siblings: Beverly Frazier, Mamie Smith (Larry), Cornell Williams, Jr., and Enoch Williams; three grandchildren: Jalen Hampton, Layla Hampton, and Kandyce Woods; and a host of other relatives and dear friends whose lives were impacted by her love, laughter, and guidance.
