To My Loving Wife o I miss you tremendously, and it feels as if a piece of my heart is missing. Yet, I know that God knows best. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to face. In the house that we shared, I look around and see you in everything! It’s not easy waking up to the quietness that is left by your absence. It is definitely hard. Yet, I take comfort in the fact that I will see you again one day. I love you, Tine! Hold my spot for me! Forever & Always, Your Husband

Family Tributes
To Our Precious Mother
The day has come that we always feared the most, but it had to come to pass. The day that we feared, however, has no power over the day that we know will come…and that’s the day that we will meet again, at last! Mama, you are now a soldier in the army of the Lord. You fought a battle that God saw fit for you to fight, then you were chosen by the Almighty because He needed one of His best. We won’t question His work because we know that His will had to be done. We will always love you, and you will always live in our hearts. Go on and rest…. Your Sons, Andre, Lorenzo & Derrick
To Our Dear, Sweet Sister
Tine, you were an earthly angel in all of our lives. You brought Joy in times of sadness and laughter to a boring day. As surely as the sun shines brightly, you – our darling sister – have been an angel of light in our lives. You have given us so many reasons to be strong, happy, and to go on with our loving memories of times spent with you. You will always be in our hearts, Tine! We will cherish every thought of you. We will smile when we think of childhood memories – playing, never fighting, and living a life filled with fun and love. God called another angel to sing in His choir, and He chose the best… you! We’ll miss you, but you will always be in our hearts. Love, Your Siblings
To Our Amazing Grandmother
If our tears could build a stairway to Heaven, and memories were truly a lane, we would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken. No time to say goodbye, for you were gone before we knew it and ONLY God knows why. Although our hearts still ache in sadness, and secret tears still flow, what it truly meant for US to lose you, no one will ever know. But for now we know you want us to mourn for you no more, to remember all the happy times that life still has in store. And since you’ll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today a hallowed place within our hearts Is where you’ll always stay. Grandma you were more than just Flora or Aunt Lustine to us. You were the rock of our family, a source of strength and courage. And for this, your grandchildren are eternally grateful. Rest in the arms of the Savior Grandma. Job WELL Done! Your Grandchildren, Angela, Nancy, Dominique, Derrick Jr., Ashley, DeAndre, Koree, Deshun LeBron and Shamirra WE LOVE YOU!
Obituary
With the radiance and glow of an angel, Flora L. Mathis was born to Ada and Jessie “Hot” Todd on April 25, 1947, in Tate County, Mississippi. She was a 1965 graduate of Tate County High School, where she was known for having a sweet and loving personality by her peers. She later moved to Memphis and became an employee of American Finishing Company, where she met her beloved husband, Mr. Walter T. Mathis. She was a loving wife and cherished her husband dearly. Of all of her outstanding qualities, Flora will most be remembered for her genuine love for people, her nurturing characteristics that caused her to be known as “mom” to many, and her strength in any situation. She was kind and giving, always there for others, and always supportive. When needed, she opened her arms, heart, and home to those who needed shelter. She was an awesome mother, a model sister, and an angel who dwelt among us. Both of her parents, and one brother, Joseph Daniels, preceded her in death. To cherish her sweet memory, she leaves her loving husband of 46 years, Mr. Walter T. Mathis; three sons, Andre B. Harmon, Lorenzo (September) Harmon III, and Derrick (Libra) Mathis, Sr.; a special grandson, Derrick (Margeaux) Mathis, Jr. and Bertha Jordan who she helped to raise and loved as her very own child; seven siblings Jessie (Mary) Todd, Sr., Amanda Williams, Queen King, Luther Harmon, Termetra (Reginald) Wilson, Darron Faulkner, and Jacqueline (Cedric) Faulkner-Orr; one sister-in-law, Jearline Walls, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will celebrate her angelic legacy forever. “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18, New International Version)
